Welcome to cookies for the CB soul, a section in the Newsletter issue where Planeswalker and I will be solving your harshest problems. We'll be featuring it in every upcoming issue of the CB Newsletter.

Being quiet about certain things isn't the best solution, so if you're bothered by something, come to us and we'll provide you with the care you need. Alright, a brief summary:

After her break up last year, she had turned emo (trust me, she really did) with all the crying and depressing. After that, she went on to another guy, who she claims to be happy with, yet never did anything with him. She barely even talked to him.

Early this year, she broke up with her second boy, and now she's been glued on to one of my best male buddies. I've given him a nickname 'Kai', and I've been the only one to call him that, but recently, she has started calling him that too. She asked me in a joking way if she could call him 'Kai'. I was busy then so all I said was 'whatever'. It somewhat disturbs me, and it does to him as well, but we ignored it. {Ahem, he was supposedly my 'ex-bf', you see. I love him more like a brother, though.}

As I said, she's superglued to him, always sitting next to him, despite the fact that there's plenty of space in the middle row where the gang is. She's always flirting around with him aka Kai, laughing happily and much more different than how she is when with the other girls.

And did I mention? He already has a girlfriend.

When the next class starts and there is no space for her in the back row, she sits up at the middle, moody and well... *****y. However, her personality changes completely when he comes to our table to get some pencil/answers, etc (We're childhood friends, you see) and she gets all happy. After he leaves, once again, she's *****y.

Kai: Can I borrow a pencil?
Kim: *Cheerful* Sure! *Gives pencil immediately*
Kai: Thanks *Walks off*
~Normal~ Ella: Hey, can I borrow a pencil? *To Kim*
Kim: Get April's or something. ******y*

It's been a while since I've had a real talk with her. Not even April, one of hers and my good buddies, has been able to talk to her as she's always busy flirting with the boy.

She pretty much uses us, just sit with us, but the only thing that she cares about is Kai anf other guys. She's always going over to the guys' table, giggling and others. Sickening, really.

Aaand... She acts like captain. Everytime the class gets noisy, she goes 'Shut up guys!' as if she's boss. She walks up to them acting captain-ish everytime they mimic her...

She carries around a f***ing bear to class! A toy one. And she goes: Dont touch it! Obviously, knowing guys, they would. And she starts complaining, yada yada yada.

Annoying -.-
So, how do I solve this?

Others said to talk to her - Doesn't work. i got Kai to tell her he doesn't like her, but I've known him a long time and I know that he won't want to do it. It's just..not him.

These kind of probelms are very difficult to deal with as there is a high risk of losing a friend.

My theory is the break up caused her to feel a very harsh pain for the first time and she never quite recovered. Its only natural for humans to go into emo mode after something like that, but the danger is if you cant pull yourself out of that mind set.

I think what she wants to do is replace the guy in the first relationship with somebody equally as good or better to make herself happy. She does this by focusing attention to the opposite sex, which results in neglecting friends.

She probably ignored her second boyfriend because he wasnt up to standard, but didnt want to break up with him straight away.

So you can do one of two things:
Leave her alone
or
Confront her

Leaving her alone will result in things getting worse. Its been proven that she cant pull herself out of this state, so she needs help.

Confronting her can be dangerous as she may decide to end the friendship, which seems to be hanging by a tiny thread. You need to express yourself to her. DO NOT start by telling her that her behaviour is wrong and she is acting like a b****. Express how you feel about the current relationship. Talk about you...not her. This will result in either her not caring or her showing some concern. If she shows concern then thats the time to ease into talking about her wrong doings. Be very subtle and dont force anything to big on her. It must be done softly to avoid either party exploding in emotion.

If she shows no concern then just drop the subject and take it up later. If she doesnt care then it wont be good for you to force things.

Crumbled cookie: Well this is something I've been wondering for sometime now. What is the real purpose of the academy on CB?

Please don't take it the other way, what I mean to say is, everyone is excited to be in the academy (or so I heard from some 'students') but what is the real purpose?

To join a division that you would eventually get kicked out of for something as simple as being inactive around the forum. I've wanted to try out for the academy but then again I keep thinking once I join but can't remain active then what's the point of wasting my time?

Please try to understand I'm not going against the rules around here..It'll be great if you don't include my name in there, thanks! :)


Planesy's cookie solution: Welcome to CB!

This one is fairly simple to answer.

The purpose of the academy is to make sure that only active people enter the Gotei. The two week training period will demotivate the lazy to join and eventually weed out the lazy who do, instead of creating much work for the captains of each respective division.

If you can't remain active then the Gotei is not for you. Enjoy the rest of the forum ^^

Crumbled cookie: Very briefly, it's of the korean guy being ghey.

Since he came, he must've thought I was still in a relationship with my friend, 'Jack' or something, 'cause he leaves me alone when Jack comes along trying to snag some money/pencil/whatever off of me.

But since today was sports day, and Jack was gone, he was glued on our little group- Me and a few other girls. He's kicking my shoes, trying to get me to tell him what I was saying in mandarin before when I was talking to some other girl.
Then he pokes me at completely random times, pats my head, takes my pencil case, keeps talking random stuff, and comes waay too close for my liking.

Usually, he talks to other girls as well. I guess you can call him a type of flirt, but he's sticking to me, and I don't like it.

After he found out what my name was - he just calls me whenever he sees me around at lunch time, and it's very annoying T_T

I can't even leave a damn seat next to me clear or he'll come and sit there, going through my folder. I didn't react much to it, since I'm quite used to Jack doing ghey stuff like that, but the thing is, I've known Jack for ages, whereas I only know the korean guy for several weeks.

If I understand this right, he likes you, however he thinks you're still with another guy?

You need to tell him straight up to back off. If possible do it around your friends, as that will increase his embarassment and decrease the probability of him ever bugging you again in that way. Or you might want to take it slow. Tell him to stop messing around with your things and gradually cut off his access to you.

Though I wouldn't be suprised if he tried to kiss you sometime soon, given his invasive nature. So if you don't want him around, just say so. It's the easiest option to make you happy and teach him a lesson about coming onto girls.

Interview with an AMV Maker - Iladys

CBNL: How long have you been making amvs?

iladys: 2 years

CBNL: How/why did you start?

iladys: Well I got my influence from my little sister. She was making amvs before me and I really enjoyed them so I gave them a go. WMM was the easiest thing I could use so I just found a song I liked and used that.

CBNL: Sugoi. So what inspires you to make amvs?

iladys: What inspires me to make an amv is not because I'm bored although that does happen. I'll listen to a song I really like and ideas start coming into my head. So I just try making the amv and see how I go. I look at the meaning behind the lyrics more then just the tempo of the song

CBNL: So you adapt the amv more to the lyrics? Does that mean you discount rhythm?

iladys: Come to think of it actually I don't. I really like having scenes which match the lyrics at that particular point of time in the amv, however I use effects to match the rhythm

CBNL: Effects? Could you elaborate on what kind of effects?

iladys: The effects available on WMM such as grayscale and film age,old. Say for instance the song is fast paced, I use a lot of fade in/out to create a flashing sequence. They usually just match the feel of the song.

CBNL: Are there any editors or videos out there that your draw influence from?

iladys: Mm, sometimes there's a song which I love listening to so I'll search around for other amvs using that song. I see what I could do differently and try that. My sister is where I draw influence from most of the time. I never compare my amvs with other people's cause we all have a different amv style.

CBNL: What would you consider:

3. Your most disasterous amv

- I just use a normal NIkon coolpix 7900...usually it's not that good, that's why i edit them in Adobe photoshop

tools most used are the lighting effects and photo filter..
I inspire myself by always being happy...when I am happy, I always imagine bright colorful things....

my advice, is to always keep your originality...don't force yourself to be as great as someone else, coz there's nothing much greater than being yourself...
for beginners, practice is a must..just keep on making artworks, as for the more you make them, the more you know how to create a better one each and everyday...

Fairy Tail is a new shonen manga series being written by Hiro Mashima, after he finally ended his popular Jump manga “Rave Master” in 2005.

Fairy tail is set in a world of adventure, magic, mages and guilds, where mages are the main adventurers in this series.

These mages are often members of Mage Guilds which provides access to information and quests but there is one particularly infamous Mage Guild that is a thorn in the side of the Mage Council because of the trouble that its members create - the Mage Guild called “Fairy Tail”

The manga starts off with a young girl called Lucy who arrives in the town of Harujon who wants to be a proper mage and join Fairy Tail.

While in Harujon, Lucy meets a boy called Natsu who has a serious case of motion sickness and a cat named Happy. Together, they unravel the mystery of the charismatic traveling mage who claims that he is the famous Salamander from Fairy Tail.

So far, this story has been a pretty engrossing read and Hiro Mashima brings a new twist to the weak mages of the typical fantasy stories. Here in the world of Fairy Tail, the mages are the ones who fight villains and go on crazy adventures.

I would say that the characterization and emotional style resembles that of many other animes, mainly One Piece (With all the nakama-this nakama-that…).

If you enjoy the usual Shounen adventure and fighting fare, give Fairy Tail a try – It’ll be worth it.

Hellsing Ultimate

In 1997, Kouta Hirano, released the first chapter of Hellsing to the public in the monthly magazine Young King OURs and is currently at 81 chapters. In 2001 the, now much loved, series was turned into a 13 episode anime. Both achieved massive success worldwide, despite the lack of content. Fans did however complain about the anime as it did not follow the manga all that closely and around halfway through, abandoned the manga story entirely. Animators knew what had to be done.

Hellsing Ultimate is an OVA series that aims to animate the entire manga. Which some argue is what they should have done in the first place. As of right now it is at two episodes (one 50 minutes and the other 40 minutes) with a third episode to be released in early April.

The story centers around two characters, Alucard and Seras, both part of the Hellsing organization, which protects England from the horrors of the night. However something strange is at foot. Artificial vampires are now being created by an unknown power in an attempt to start a never ending war. The first episode covers the events from Seras being turned into a Draculina to Alucard’s first encounter with Paladin Anderson. The second episode focuses on the invasion of the Valentine Brothers. The anime watchers among you may be saying “Uh…dude that happened in the original anime” and you would be right…to a degree. The original anime left out many manga details and toned down the story as a whole considerably. The OVA contains new (To animation) scenes that give the watcher far more understanding and satisfaction. The OVA is also animated differently and leans towards the style of manga drawing, rather than contemporary anime.

One very important thing that should be noted is that the characters change considerably in personality compared to the original anime. For example Integra in the original anime was a very serious and pure person. In the OVA her character is usually grinning and smokes cigars. Other than Alucard, who remains the same, all the other characters also have different personality traits that mimic the manga much more successfully.

The voice actors from the original remain largely the same. The only notable change is the voice of Anderson, who is now played by another person. Whether the voice is better or worse is all a matter of opinion.

Hellsing is one of the huge titles in the anime/manga market today. The manga has been praised as one of the greatest in its time. It is quite dark, but the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series is defiantly a title to be aware of in this day and age.

Investigation Time: Lizards

There are over 5 million species of lizards in the world, perhaps more in the unknown world. Although the very unknowablity of that world makes it very difficult to say.

Lizards are as many in number as they are in quantity. They enjoy all the creature comforts of a creature: Tongue, head, body and legs. Not to mention arms, and with good reason…they don’t have them. As not seen here:

A news update guys! We're looking for more articles! 80% of this issue was made by 9th Division alone! We want you to help us out and write some stuff. You seem to know quite a bit about the newsletter and writings, etc. Maybe you could help us out by sending in suggestions or an article?

Like said before, we were really short on articles for this issue. It'd be awesome if we could get more for the next. It doesn't matter if you're not apart of the NL staff, just patch up an article and send it over to us. As Planes said, we won't turn any articles (unless offensive) down.
