First i must say this clear and loud. I made this thread for those who have ended reading the Death Note Manga...

So. What do you like or you don´t like and please rate the manga here and the manga end in the poll...

I haven't read the manga but I never cared about having something spoiled. Of that is the case, then i'm dissapointed. I wanted him to go on with his ways, even if they were unjustified, the truth is that he had this so thought out that he would deserve to prevail. Now that I know this I'm not really happy to be honest...

I wanted the "bad guy" to win for a change. I guess the point of the series is also, you can't take justice in your own hands, judge others with it and in the end get away and live happily ever after.

Despite the ending, Light will always be my favorite death Note characters and one of fictional characters i will always have very deep respect for. :)

The fact he was whining and crying like a little sissy was too funny. He was so sure he was gonna win that as soon as he loses he throws a fit like a little child. He got what he deserved.

I wanted Light to fail, especially after he killed L XPPP Hes a seriously f**ked up guy, and the worse they are the more enjoyable it is to watch them fall... especially if they cry about it afterwards xD

No actually lights death was good. He did think of everything, but he could not factor in Takada's death, and what mikimi would do about it. That's why he lost. It was not predictable, in a sense he was eventually going to die, either of old age, or from someone. Since his death was already set at the begining, he was not going to change it unless a shinigami stepped in. He would of lost many times over, and died if a certain shinigami never helped.

I just finished reading the last chapter.

I wanted the "bad guy" to win for a change.

I did, too. Sort of. I mean, I guess having Kira become the supreme ruler and all that jazz wasn't what I wanted, but I would have been happier with a real one-on-one thing between Light and Near, or maybe someone after Near. Everyone should have gotten killed near the end I think. Having Light go nuts and be weeping on the floor was totally lousy. I didn't want him to be just shot to death by the SPK or the HQ members, maybe more like locked up in an asylum or something.

Light and L were my favorite characters. Near was okay, but he didn't have that same oddball coolness L had, and Mello was just too evil to really root for. Misa going on to be leader of a Kira cult was just dumb. Note that she gets completely off the hook for anyone she killed.

Yea, Mikami basiclly ****ed him over, the Manga should have ended with Light killing L, no Near no Mello or any of the stupid bullshit that went on after L's death. Not to mention all of the blah blah blah they added in, Near talked about his god damn plan for like 4 pages, it was way to much cramed into to one volume, in the end by killing Takada Mikami ****ed him over, not to mention he should have tested it before hand, just in case. By killing off Light Death Note became another stupid Shounen manga where the good guy prevails and the bad guy goes down, how craptacullar.

The end was perfect, in my opinion. After all he'd done to other people, it was only right that he would live the last 40 seconds of his life knowing that his was about to end. Watching his character fall apart was the best thing that could have happened to the manga. He was so arrogant in the end. So sure of himself.

Whether he "deserves" death or not people may debate.

So all anime/manga that ends with Good defeated the Evil are perfect endings ?

Death Note is really not a fairy tale-like story that the Good should prevail in the end, they have ****ed that up when they decide to kill Light.

Death Note's main character is not a good person to begin with, so it won't hurt if the ending is Evil > Good.

One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach are animes that has tons of fillers just to extend the story and More episodes = More Money.

Death Note is like GTO(Anime) IMHO, both are great animes, and both doesn't have season 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.. :D

One Piece doesn't have to many fillers, and there fillers are usually more interesting then the main storyline of Bleach and Naruto. Death Note lasted to long, shoulda ended after volume 7, or they shouldn't have killed L. off so early.

it had a terrible ending that left me severely disappointed, dont get me wrong at most parts it was a great manga, they have the most stuff packed into them, but i dont think near should have "won" in the end, because i dont believe that he was a good enough rival for Light, L was, but they killed him off too early IMO, and the fact that near and co. somehow "replaced" the fake kira's death note wasnt feasible enough to be done and then the fact that he didnt notice before hand, no terrible ending and thats all i can say

To be honest, I couldn't really keep reading after chapter 7x or 8x or somewhere in there, and I was even sloshing upstream and into the wind at that point -- I just skipped to the last 2 or 3 chapters to see the conclusion and be done with it. Death Note was really fun to read for a while, but...

was clever enough to put the pieces together. M an' L did most of the work for him.

Well The manga ending was so pwn, but I have to say that the anime ending sucked ass I was angry, first off he ran like a lil *****, in the manga he graveled on the ground and begged ryuk, but he didn't run.
