Do u guys honestly think the dub version of bleach will ever reach 100 eps?
I guess my question is will they continue to dub bleach for that long or will the dub end like One Piece did?
My reason for asking this question is because it will take a full year just to reach 52 epidoes while the subbed version continues along. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love dubbed bleach. In fact i refuse to watch the subbed version.

I don't see why not. All 160-something episodes of Inuyasha aired on Adult Swim and Naruto is up to 84 eps so far (nearing that 100 mark). Bleach is very popular so I think as long as people continue to watch and support the dub, it will continue to air. But in the end it's all up to Viz Media.

I think the bleach Dub can go very far just depends on adult swim and viz media. Ratings are great at the moment but I dont know how it will go when the Bounto arc starts.

Also, the only reason One Piece stopped being dubbed was because, to my understanding, 4Kids loss the license to dub it (thank god). Unless for some reason Viz loses the license to Bleach, it will continue.

As long as they can keep making money, the show will go on~

On another note the One Piece Dub got licensed by someone else, it will continue..

I think it will continue, no reason for it to stop as long as its popular. After getting adjusted to the subs I don't really like the dubbed though.

i think it'll go on. like what Crescendo said, they did air all the episodes of inuyasha. and beside, Bleach seems to be very popular

Yeah, i think bleach will go on to at least the crappy filler arc.
However, they havnt dubbed all the naruto episodes, only up to episode 70, so then again, im not too sure...

one piece is getting re-dubbed anyway bleach will keep going especially since one piece got to 200 something last i heard and if that show can make it that far with a horrible dub bleach can and bleach has a pretty good dub

I hope it will. If Bleach's popularity stays high, then it should. However, once it reaches the fillers arc... I'm not so optimistic. At least we'll see the end of Soul Society arc, I hope.

I'm dying to see episode 59 in dubbed. I hope it will continue, I like the dubbed episodes.

the only reason people didnt like the bounto arc is because we knew it was filler, im quite sure that most people watching the dub have no clue that it is a filler so they will enjoy it.

my 2 cents

I doubt they will drop it, although the Bounto Arc could weaken its popularity.

They will probably just stop after the Soul Society arc ends and then just air it Mon-Thur like they did with FMA. Altough some viewers would probably end up losing interest if they were to dub and air the Bounto arc.

Im hoping they air the entire series dubbed.

When I watched the Bount arc the first time around, I neither knew nor cared that it was a filler, and I thought it was fairly well done. There were a few funny moments here and there, and I looked forward to watching the battles between the Bount and the Shinigami. Now that the Arrancar arc has begun, I can look back and see why the manga readers hated the Bounts so much (they are nothing compared to the Arrancar), but at the time I watched it, I liked it, so unless everyone who watches the dub is reading the manga to get ahead, I don't think airing the Bount arc in English will decrease the popularity of Bleach.

Bleach is about to spark in America now that the dub just hit the ss arc(where Bleach really begins).you can call the first arc a differnt anime if you wish.In the ss arc you learn about releases, bankai, and over 20 characters are introduced.and the hollows take a backseat. So Bleach will just more popular from here with the new dbz like feel to the dub.

I agree that Bleach's popularity in America can only increase at this point because the SS arc is way juicier than the first arc. But I'd be hesitant to say that the first arc is a different anime. For one thing, you might recall that certain prominent events in the first arc are explained in the SS arc.

Releases and Bankai aside, I think it's usually for the best when a series doesn't introduce a whole heap of characters right at the beginning. What's the point of 20-plus new characters floating around when there aren't at least 4 that you actually care about?

I feel you on that one. After a few episodes in the SS I was asking myself "is this bleach?" I figure the first arc was to develop Ichigo's character and this arc is to develop Rukia's character. The fight scenes are much better in this arc, but I feel the comedy of the first arc was done much better. The SS arc has a very Naruto-esc feel to it so it'll probably draw more fans than the first arc. I just hope it doesn't get canceled before the Japanese one ends.

It set the premise for Bleach to start off i mean with out those episodes who would have cared if Rukia was taken away. It builds a bond between Ichigo and Rukia. And I dont think the Bounto arc will decrease the rating since it has some sort of storyline.

Ummm..... Not sure. As long as the dubbing is good and gained a wide of nice feedbacks from fans then I think it will be alright.

I love the original version of Bleach coz that's how I can really feel the tension of every story. Especially the ones that are so important, I can really feel the emotion of it. Some series contain dubs which are not that really good to hear. bleach though, has seiyuu who have such cool and unique voices that even myself can't imagine one who is a girl and voiced a boy character, like Romi Paku a seiyuu who originally voiced Hitsugaya Toushiro.

we all have our own opinions as whether this one will end or not. As for me, I think it will move on as long as it gain/ reach the standards of the viewers. Because it's with the fans / viewers that motivates the companies to continue broadcasting the dubbed one. If they gain a low status, why will they ever continue? If almost all fans love the original voice actors of a series like bleach than the dubbed one, then I don't think there'll be a big possibility of contuing the broadcasting of a certain dubbed version of Bleach, no matter how long it takes.

Bleach will probably continue dubbed. The main TV stations only broadcast dubbed anime, so Bleach will continue to be dubbed. Unlike people here on Bleach forums, most people in America who watch Bleach probably do not watch the undubbed, so they won't have a bias against American voices.

I think when its dubbed it funny but it better cause you get the real japan voices,
its easier when its dubbed when people try to fan-Dub that means people who are a fan of bleach dub if it has no subtitles or if they want to make a joke out off it.

It's very true. Viz is taking over One Piece. Unfortunately, it will be originated in the Uncut DVDs.

Thus the 4kids edition will continue on TV.

same thing... I was watching the dubs on AS and I missed a few weeks due to working nights. I came back and sat down to watch it hopig I hadn't missed to much, and I turned on the TV and immediately asked myself "Did they change the viewing schedule again.(AS is notorius for doing so) Man that sucks it was starting to get good!" then my Gf came in and was all like oh bleach is on! and explained what I had missed... ok sorry for the off-topic wall of text. But yeah I can't see them not continuing, I mean I feel Bleach is more popular than naruto rght now and it is still getting dubbed.

I don’t see why not? Ratings are up according to fans at the Adult Swim Message Board, and the series is receiving more promotion in regards to both new and replayed airings. My assumption and hope is that once the reruns of the anime catch up with the pristine broadcasts, brand-new (so-to-speak) episodes will begin to air diurnally. That is of course, if enough has been dubbed already to do so.

Also as others have mentioned, the One Piece dub came to an abrupt end because the license the 4kids production company had, expired.

In a perfect world, they would skip the Bount arc completely and skip straight to the Arrancar ark, but unfortunately, I don't think that Viz is that smart. While by no means will the dubs stop, I think we may see a huge drop of interest during the Bount arc. Things will most certainly pick up again once the show returns to the Arrancar ark, however.

I think the Bleach will continue being dubbed. I don't see any reason for why they would stop. It's already very popular on AS, and there havn't been many dubbed shows on AS that were stopped.

I dub cant die its too popular what we really should be worrying about is the possibility of them changing voice actors.

if they change VA's oh well, I'll still enjoy them just as much as long as they keep making them. Unless suddenly Ichigo's VA was High Pitch Eric or something

dumb question but what is a filler?

MezzoDragon
08-17-2007, 02:32 AM
Filler is material that is either not canon or part of the overall plot.
