Personally I have never been struck on the idea of having children. Don't get me wrong, I love kids... ... ...other people's kids, who you can give back. ^_^

But seriously, I don't plan on having children, I don't particularly want children period. However I feel that at some point in my life, that perspective of mine that I have had for a lot of years, will shift and I will decide that I want a child, or even children.

I guess if I were to become a father, I would want a little girl more than a boy. Strange, whilst I don't want kids, the idea of me being a father to a baby girl brings a pleasant smile. o_O

I suppose for a boy's name I might fancy something like;

Sy for something simple, I've never been keen on the shortening of names...how the heck can you shorten Sy? ^_^

Kai, I've always loved that name, there's something powerful yet sleek about it.

Middles names...I suppose if I could find names that suit the first names and MY surname (since it's an akward one) then I would like to give my child should I have one, a middle name. Most probably because neither myself or my brother were given middle names.

For girls I could probably sit and type forever as once I list a few I can think of off the top of my head, I'd probably get thinking about more.

Katiana, I don't know where I got this name from, and I can't say I've ever heard it before, but it's something I've liked the sound of for a long time.

Katarina; now this one I do know where I got it from. For anyone who can remeber early morning tv soaps of time gone by...Heart Break High featured the name, and since hearing it on the show I've always liked the sound of it.

Crystal, the word itself sounds crisp and clean. =)

Of all the names I can think of, Crystal is possibly the only one that I might already know a middle name that I like to match it. I've just never been keen on my surname suiting any name. ^_^

Crystal Sapphire the thought of Crystal-Sapphire crossed my mind, but I'm in two minds about it.

McFadyen is my surname, and in all honesty I don't find any of the names fitting. =/

Several factors should be considered when choosing names for kids... One is the last name the child will have... Example, I have a very good friend named Jim Bush. He has a daughter named Bailey. he told me that once he found out he was having a girl, names like Rose and Holly were thrown out immediately (if you're confused about that, put my friend's last name on the end of either Rose or Holly. If you don't get it after that, you fail. :redbiggri )

For myself, when trying to come up with names for my son, my wife and I realized that we weren't very keen on teh name shortening thing either.. we loved the name Michael, but we knew he'd just be called Mike. Same with Phillip/Phil. I finally came up with Joel. definately not commonplace, yet, not shortenable (is that a word? :redbiggri )...

When i told others my name, some had difficulty pronouncing it while some other thinks its nice and some thinks its unique. YEt to me, i think its common, i heard of others who had the same name as me too hahxa.

For boys, I really like the name Liam, Lewis, and some traditional names like Charles, Luke, and Peter.

Well, I've always liked the name Alexander as far as male names go. I just think it's a strong name.
