Let me start by sayin I LOVE THIS SPORT!!! Ur going to go through hell and like it! Now, when u start practicing, give it ur all, because u can afford to make mistakes in practice. Try stuff out and listen to ur coach. Secondly, when ur in any match and ur bigger, tie up and work for an upper body takedown or snapping him down to the ground and getting behind for back points. I prefer the Bearhug, but thats me:). Next, when he's on the ground, don't have ur body near his head. stay low to the waist and use ur forearm to push his head down. then u go 4 the pin. I personally favor the chickenwing half. U get 1 arm in a chicken wing(If u dont know what it is, ask ur coach) and the other in a half. Then with the half arm, turn towards the chicken wing. and flip. Any questions so far?

I don't really like wrestling after I have seen what you have to do to make weight, etc. For example, drinking a crap-load of water, or hardly eating anything, or eating too much. From what I have seen, its not to good on your body...

Hmmm...whoever is starving themselves is doing something wrong. Just exericse and eat healthy. Its easy after that, especially with weight allowances.

Thanks for the advise Shinron. School starts back in a month, so I have learn everything I can to make a good starting impression.
I got to start hittin the weights if I want survive though. Hard to find a gym in my town, luckily though my school has a weightroom.

Nah, my school is full of really strong guys. Hell, one of my buds on the wrestling team weighs 135 pounds and benches 225. I usually wrestle with him, never win though. I have been getting stronger however. I can beat him in arm wrestling with my left hand, but not my right. I also can beat him in bloody knuckles (sometimes),
Most of the guys at my school train come to think of it.
I know some techniques thanks to ufc. I really want to learn more.
Anyone know any vital moves a wrestler should know?
My brother was wrestling mad when he was young, he always used to try out his moves on my, I remember he put our beds together and made it into a wrestling ring, it was really good. But now he doesn't do anything T_T

Vital moves huh? If ur going to be a shooter, u should learn variations of the single leg takedown. I prefer double, but that's just me. If u work on tie-ups, perfect the headlock takedown to start off. Either that or the snap down.

Yeah, I know. But when you're on the mat tryna beat down the other guy, u don't worry about it as much.

If I was you, I would start preparing my body for basically the most intense training possible. Think along the lines of military boot camp, go running, do some light weight training (physically for your muscles), and go out and buy something that will help improve the strength of your hand's GRIP!

If ur poor and u wanna strengthen ur grip, just take a bunch of paper towels and ball it up. Continue to squeeze as hard as u can. Also, if u don't prepare ur body for wrestling training, you'll proly puke.
