The main purpose of this is to RP my character's respec. This will also be a nifty thread of mine for the purposes of gaining mass amounts of RPP/revealing insights into the life of Taiki.
==========================================================
"I was worthless."

The daunting realization had haunted Taiki ever since his mission to Earth. He had lost to both a renegade and a Menos, both defeats being in a rather embarrasing fashion. His enemies had overwhelmed him completely, and he had done little to resist them.

"God, I SUCK!" he shoute to the heavens, as if expecting some sort of divine to hear him. He collapsed onto the ground, spread prostrate on his back. Looking up at the sky, he pondered his defeats.

Why, why, WHY did I lose? he could not come to a conclusion. He had used Shikai, he had utilized all his speed. How could he have lost?

Because you are weak.

The Zanpakutou verbalized what Taiki was afraid to admit. As much as he would have liked to protest, for the first time in his life the Shinigami found he had nothing to say. Despite his best efforts, he had failed. The only logical explanation was weakness.

If you want to stay laying here with that pitiful expression on your face, that is fine, Umbra spoke once more. But, if you wish to become strong, if you wish to lose sight of this weakness that so consumes your soul, I know of a place in which that is possible.

Taiki's intrest was perked. Standing up, he answered his weapon.

"Where is this place?"

Chuckling, his Zanpakutou replied, I had a feeling I knew what your decision would be. Now close your eyes and come; it is a place you have been once before.

Doing as he was told, the Shinigami found himself in the strange monochromatic world in which he had first met his avatar. True to his mysterious form, Umbra awaited him, the grey cloak still obscuring his true form.

"You really do try and look cool with your cloak flowing in the wind, don't ya?" Taiki mocked.

Hmph, it has little to do with looking cool, came the unamused reply. For you see, the wind has picked up because a storm is coming here. And I wonder, Taiki, if you will be able to weather it.

Kojima was slightly taken aback; it was on very rare occasions that his avatar addressed him by his actual name.

"So what would you have me do?" Taiki inquired, eager to get to the point of the situation.

Producing a rather odd scythe from what seemed like nowhere, Umbra replied, We shall see if you can weather the storm.

The Shinigami grinned and reached for his weapon, eager for a challenge. The grin quickly ran away from his face when he found that there was no scabbard by his waist.

"Oy, what gives?" Taiki voiced his concern.

Well, relying on my help is no way to gain strength of your own, replied the Zanpakutou. To survive this, you must use your greatest asset: your speed.

Dissapating into the strange gray shadow of the world, Umbra began his attack. Cursing under his breath, Taiki awaited the instant his foe would rematerialize.

"I know your game," Taiki called out, feigning the utmost comfidence, "you'll be corporeal again right before you attack me. I'll dodge you then."

It came. The huge scythe came crushing down behind the Shinigami, ripping his clothes in two.

You make it sound easier for you than it actually is.

Throwing off his torn clothing, Taiki snidely replied, "I'm just getting warmed up. You're movin pretty slow."

I wonder if you will think that way after three more days.

The storm had picked up. Strangely, there was no rain. There was only wind. However, the wind was not natural. It cut into Taiki harshly; in the most severe cases it drew blood. It went straight to the core, seeming to pierce his spirit.

Umbra was getting faster, as well. For every bit the Shinigami slowed down, it seemed that the Zanpakutoh sped up.

You're slowing down. The voice echoed throughout the realm.

"Quite the observant one, aren't we?" Taiki stood panting, the blood from his many cuts soaking the bandages covering his upper body. "But that doesn't mean that I'm slow enough for you to catch me."

Then he felt it, the pain. Roaring in anguish, Taiki watched helplessly as the blood burst forth from his chest. He knelt to the ground, clutching the grass.

Tornadoes were visible in the distance; the Storm was in full fury.

You are still too slow, and too weak.

Taiki's chest hurt too much to warrant a reply. Was this all he could amount to? Was this all the power he was able to attain? He felt as if his dreams of grandeur were crumbling before him.

Will you simply sit there? If that is your plan, rid me of your presence. I cannot kill you, for in doing that I would destroy myself. But,

If you will chose to dwell in weakness

Go.

Something inside Taiki clicked, as if awakened by Umbra's words. If there was one thing he would never be, it was continuously weak. His hard breathing stopped, and the bleeding slowed down slightly. The wound was not as deep as he had thought.

"If you won't come at me, then I guess that means I'm on the offensive." The Shinigami's red eyes focused on the opponent, their eyes relfecting a blood lust the likes of which he had never experienced.

He disappeared. Too fast, even for Umbra, Taiki dashed about the realm.

"Catch me if you can!" he called. The avatar looked about searching for the boy. To his surprise, even he could not see him. He decided to retreat back into the shadows, but was suddenly stopped.

Holding the schythe in his hand was Taiki, a confident grin on his face.

The storm has ended. Return victorious, flash god.

The Shinigami found himself in Sereitei once more. Oddly, he bore no wounds. Stranger still, it seemed as if no time had passed in this world.

But the power remained. And that was all that mattered.

You gain 25 RPP. Quite a presumptuous name, isn't that? You're nowhere near Yourichi's level. ^_^
