I know someone used to collect kinves and another that collected snail shells

I would like to know what other people here used to collect that was strange to a "normal" collection

I used to collect drink bottles apparently (just asked mum)... the one's that you actually buy drinks in.. e.g coke bottles, orange juice bottles, etc.
and what was strange and yet disgusting was that I never washed them out :face82:
btw, they were all small bottles

I used to love collecting real live snails...I was f**king mad!

In Bangladesh, I would ask the maid to pick them up for me (thank God I never touched them myself) and told her to put them in a big jar/container..I used to close the lid and watch them crawl all over the sides of the jar (*barfs*)

I filled the jar up with tons of gooey crawling creeping snails.

When I was bored, I would open the lid (Gawd it stank worse than shit) and fill it up with water to see how long the snails would survive. Ofc, right then I got disgusted with all their crawling and ickiness so I shut the lid and threw it outside on a nearby field....now there's a building on top of it. :redbiggri

That was a gross hobby...I did it over and over...even though I got disgusted I still continued to torture many snails...=S

Then I had another (not gross) hobby when I was a kid, I used to collect soft drink cans...so I could play 'bowling' X3

I'd drink the soda, wash out the cans (so it wouldnt get sticky and attract roaches) and dump them in a big black trash packet. Then when I was in the mood to play, I'd take them out. Set them one on top of the other, making a pyramid and then roll a ball over to topple them down...and wow, how exciting that was for me! XD

I collected thousands of cans but one day when I came home from school I found them all gone. My mom threw them away T_T

Now come to think of it, I could've made a lot of cash by donating those cans to the recycling centre XD

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with 3 things in life... Ninja Turtles, Sharks and Michael Jordan.

I collected phone cards. I'm not sure what happened to them, I propably threw them away myself at some point.

I also collected strange rocks, whenever we were on a holiday near sea, I'd go to the beach and pick up the weirdest ones I could find. Those I have still, and some of them really are pretty wicked. Actually, I might even now have this hobby to some extent. Stones are nice.

I don't know if either one of those is strange, though. Well, in addition, I also collected small, useless parts of machinery.

My little brother collected small candy boxes (empty). He had well over a hundred of those when my mother finally persuaded him to get rid of them.

I used to collect a lot of things when I was little, though I'd usually get bored of it pretty quickly. I collected acorns (I had an entire drawer full), the little tags from Hershey's Kisses (they were in the drawer with the acorns), and stamps, though that one only lasted a week.
I also used to have a big bag full of sea shells that I collected, but god knows where that thing is now
I think my collection that lasted the longest time was stickers. I had a sticker book and put EVERYTHING in there; stickers I found on the ground, stickers I was given, stickers I got on homework assignments in elementary school. I probably had close to a thousand stickers in that book :P

Now I collect cameras, both old and new. Though I fully intend on using them all, so I don't know if it really counts.

Ninja turtles ftw!.. I had lotsa ninja turtles stuff, posters, plastic figurines.. even a raphael costume.. which I ran around with at the day nursery/daycare centre(or whatever it's called).

I also collected gun shells, of all kinds.. which I forgot to mention earlier.. Used to pick 'em from the shooting range where my gramps lives. Love the smell of gun smoke of a newly used shell :3.. (not rly.. XD, man those shotgun shells stank!)

rocks... yes rocks... i read the previous posts and it looks like that was normal. i thought it was stupid. my friend came up with the collecting rocks idea and we'd spend whole recesses and lunchtimes scouring the playground for rocks.... i have no idea how we stopped though. now we just look back at that and think that we were such stupid lil kids.

I use to collect soda bottle tops. It started when I won a free soda, and I didn't have a cap for the other soda, so I collected the caps to always have a spare one to use. I ended up with so many.
