The lady elven here wants to know who is your favorite book character. I'm sure you guys love them so much so why don't you guys share them with us here!
* As for me, I love Harry Potter and the villain Lord Voldemort.
I love how well those two didn't come in good terms and how well both of them tried hard to survive. I love how thirsty the villain is for power. He's the only one I think who's very serious in his plans and how he wanted to gain thar dark power he's going to use to the wizarding world.
How about yours?

1. Drizzt do' Urden of various series by R.A. Salvatore. Has a huge panther, Gwenhyvar, for a battle partner and packs two badass scimitars- Twinkle (don't laugh at the name or Drizzt will materialize behind you and stab you with it) and Icingdeath (taken from a dragon hoard).
2. Anita Blake of the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. She slays vamps, raises the dead (necromancy, yay!), and is more of a hardass than most male characters.

Right now...
Beka Cooper (Beka Cooper: TERRIER by Tamora Pierce)
She a different character, she's shy, she's stubborn, she talks to spirits riding pigeons and got the nickname "Fish Puppy" The first day working as a cop.
Johnny Smith, main character of Stephen King's not so famous "The Dead Zone", which by the way is one of my favorite story.
I like him, not only because of we share the same name (98% of all English story before 1900 is John) but also we sort of having the same personality. I can't really express my feelings since I read it so long ago but my love for the story remains and I remember alot of the story too... only is hard to express my own feelings.

Hmm.. where to begin.. I'm not sure if I can put this in any order.. since it would make one seem higher than another.. but here goes.
Decado - From the book by David Gemmell: Swords of Night and Day. He plays a swordsman who is descendent of the main character by a thousand years. The main char is actually brought back to life then. He wields the swords of Blood and Fire, the original to the swords of N&D.
Anyway, his character, like all my faves, is one of tragedy. He begins as working for the evil Witch Queen of the era, and he's also in love with her. He has a small role, but is relatively the main antagonist to the main character. Both characters believe they are the greatest swordsman, and thus they know only one is right.
Decado has a condition that causes his berserk rages to overwhelm him.
At the end, he realises he's been used by his mentor as a means to gain the ultimate prize, and with a heavy heart engages in combat with his ancestor.
Interrupting their fight come others, and he dies fighting them alongside the hero. As he dies, we find out that he had a chance to kill the hero - 3 times - during their duel, but did not. And died without sharing his tragedy.
Kalliades: From David Gemmell's: Shield of Thunder (TROY series). He plays a Mykene (part greek) warrior who has a terrible childhood which haunts him to this day.
The tragedy of his character cannot be put into words... and his persona resembles mine closely.
As you may have noticed, my nick on CB had been Decado, and then Kalliades until recently.
Helikaon (aka King Aeneas) from TROY - Lord of the Silver Bow by David Gemmell
Again, the tragedy of his character shouldn't be put into words... and his past resembles mine.
Argurios: same book. Greek Mykene warrior. The Bironic Hero. (bad turned good) Exceptionally well made char
Gaise Macon (From "Stormrider")
The Moidart ( " " " ") - Macon's father.

I have many! But I'll only name the ones from this series I'm currently very fond of, the Outlander written by Diana Gabaldon.
James/Jamie Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser : Probably the first main character I've ever actually liked. He's a Scottish Highlander from the eighteenth-century with red hair, a kilt and amazing sword-fighting skills. He's also a murderer and a traitor, but he's not a bad guy. The English captain Jack Randall has a special interest in him, which Jamie (or his wife Claire) aren't pleased with. :D
Dougal MacKenzie: Jamie's black-haired uncle. He's left-handed, so he's the one who taught Jamie (who's left-handed, too). His older brother is the chief of the MacKenzie clan, but since he's a cripple Dougal is taking care of everything for him. I think he's pretty hot. ^^

Legolas - LOTR by J.R.R. Tolkien
He's a lot better in the books than he is portrayed in the movies. I love his scene on the mountain and his developing friendship with Gimli. He's such a strong character in the books which it is a shame that it wasn't portrayed that well in the movies.
Feanor-The Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien
This time I went for the angst character. I guess it's more that I felt really sorry for him even though all that he went through was all his own fault over bad choices. But you have to admire him for his strength and conviction even if it is pointed in the wrong direction.
Richard Cypher/Rahl - Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind
He's just the coolest book character ever. He's not usually what you imagine a sword wielding character to be. He's smart - really smart - and is able to piece together things really quickly and do that right thing. He's just a really strong character.

Jarlaxle- Coolest Drow out there (yes, he's cooler than Drizzt, not by much though). he extremely crafty and has too many magical devices/weapons to list.
Beowulf- Cuz he pwns all teh n00b DEMONZ!!
Phaurun Mizzrym (spelled his last name wrong)- Another awesome Drow (Drow pwn if you didnt know) from War of the Spider queen series. He coulda been the next Archmage of Menzoberranzan....
my fav bad guys:
Kaynaar Vhok- Leader of hte Scourged Legion and a Demon mutt (mixed blood). he has a HUGE sword and is very resourceful.
Szass Tam- He's one of the leaders of Thay (kingdom in Forgotten realms, pretty much all my fav characters are from there). Hes a powerful Lich that specializes in Necromancy (Suprise!).
Morgoth- THE DARK LORD OF MIDDLE EARTH!!!!!! He is soo much cooler than Sauron, and he made Dragons, orcs, trolls, Balrogs, and even meaner beasties! who could be badder than him???

Harry Potter and everything related to Harry Potter (I can't pick favorites character-wise and such).
Another good series is The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, though I was never able to finish it (mainly because I started and stopped reading the first four books when I was like 12). The final three didn't come out until later unfortunately. Very odd and interesting, as are the characters.

Favorite Protagonist: Mr. Darcy - charming and sincere, albeit a bit aloof.
Favorite Antagonist: Big Brother from 1984. What's more frightening than a government that is constantly watching you?

my faverouts are Shogo from battle royal, he is just a rely deep character and Shade (infact an A.I. but oh well) from shades children by Garth Nix. Both are very dark characters and very mestirious. I hate harry poter and all other such steriotypical heroes and vilans. I like Lupin from the harry potter boocks though

QFT!! I dislike teh HP series...
another fav character: Four/Fighter/Fourty/unnamed(his name changes due to the fact he has none)- cool 'forged (kinda like a robot in the eberron realm of khorvaire) that has done nothing but dueled people in illegal fight rings. He doesnt know anything about the outside world , or that it is wrong to kill people (he would do it because he views everyone has a threat since everyone was trying to kill him in the arena), because his "home" was a coffin they would put him in till it was time to fight.

Mine would have to be Robert Langdon from Angels and Demons.
Like about half of today's angsty teenaged girls, I am in love with Edward Cullen. But let's see..
My favorite characters of all time are probably Sophie and Howl from Howl's Moving Castle (ya rly the book).
But then, I completely relate to Haruna Nagashima from Koukou Debut (if you want to count manga as literature).

Rand the main character from the Wheel of Time series.
Just started reading this series last month. On the third book, and I have found Rand kinda bland. And Mat just sucks.
Loial and Perrin are awsome though.

The books that I love to read don't exactly have the 'emphasis' on the characters. Nonetheless, I would go for the 'headstrong' characters, like Pilar from Paulo Coelho's By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept, or the 'I-get-what-I-deserve' ones like Edmund Dante from Alexandre Dumas pere's The Count of Monte Cristo.

I'm sorry MooLy >:3
Edward Cullen is mine :p
Nah, but like you said. XD
There is even a facebook group that title's,
Thanks to Stephenie Meyer, I now have unrealistic man expectations
(Or something along those lines,) but you know, it's true.
There is a lot to love of Edward Cullen: The way he holds Bella, the way he speaks, the facial expressions and the firmness of his personality. He has a heart and soul of gold, as gold as his eyes. Even though his heart has stopped beating and he claims to have no soul, how he actually is contradicts all that.
I'd love to have the man Bella has, but I think I've already found him x3
Edward Cullen can be found in the released trilogy of:
- Twilight
- New Moon
- Eclipse
The fourth is to be realesed in the U.S during Fall, 2008.
Breaking Dawn
Edward's version of Twilight should also be realsed in 2008.
Midnight Sun
All written by Stephenie Meyer.

I like Mo from inkheart/inkspell!!
David Gemmell's Dark Moon: Favorite character is Dace, he's just got a hint of madness I love! And he dances the steps of death so well with his opponents!
Other than that...I'd have to say Druss, also the David Gemmell books.
