So, what type of server does Bleach Portal run on?
I'm wondering, since I plan on running a php/mysql infobase for the type of art I'm mose comfortable with, pixeldolls, but, I've seen a few sites have problems with bandwidth, connection errors, etc. I'm wondering what type of stuff to look for if I were to buy hosting for such a site (it's running off my own domain's hosting and that is hosted by hasweb.com), or if I should team up with some people and run a server.
So, what suggestions do you have for that sort of thing?

theres a couple of options when it comes to creating a server. and one of the first things that admins or web devloper look at is what content is stored and the expected use of the server. but looking at the content your serving you might consider creating and storing the content on your own server and have a DNS provider link directly to your IP address. if you have any more questions, you can PM me.

BP runs multiple linux "dedicated servers". One for web, and I dunno exactly, but alot for serving files.

For you to start a site, you don't need your own server you want something called "shared hosting". This is where multiple accounts share one server, you get a control panel, and lots of good stuff like PHP/MySQL and if stuff goes bad, they help you out. A High Traffic site, which would take time to build anyway, with heavy graphics would run maybe 5GB of transfer per month. (estimate)

Personally I use site5.com, they have fast servers, great support and good prices.

Good luck
