Linkin Park makes me mad everytime i hear them. i was gonna go see them one time but there was a lvl 3 snow emergency(no aloud to drive on the roads), and no one could go to the show but people who lived close to it, but they held it any way. they played for 1000 people, when upwards of 3000 had bought tickets. to me it seems they don't care about there fans. when they could have easily changed the date of the show, so every one who bought tickets could have seen it.

Personally I don't like either of them, but this comparison is a bit off, you can't compare things from completely different genres. Linkin Park is numetal and AFI is pop-punk, to compare them is only to see which genre someone likes more.

LOL, thats how wars are started in the first place. I must same both. For me there is no band better than the other. Different styles and calls. Different meanings and beats. It all depends on the like you have at the moment. I love Linkin Park my favorite band, but I also like some songs of AFI and have an album of them. So I guess when I'm in the mood I get LP and when i want something else I get AFI or whatever I feel like hearing now. ^^

The Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow were their best albums IMO. I'm really not a rap-metal fan so that might be why I'm not into Linkin Park. I will agree AFI can be a little emo, though.

I play drums and listen to metal so instrumentally they aren't that talented like its soooo easy to play their songs and compared to metal they are talented but the lyrics are really good and put the band together making them simple amazing. Thats why I think they suck at instruments

I rly never consider the lyrics to be good, when I listen to music.. Cuz they're nothing without good vocals.. So therefore it's the singer that's good not the lyrics.. imo

However I like AFI more than linkin park.. Didn't rly like linkin park's latest album and got bored of their older music quite quickly.. I can still listen to 'em but they're not that good..

But there are so much better music out there, than AFI and linkin park.. that would be going offtopic though..

I mostly listen to bands like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Stevie Ray Vaughann, and sometimes Guns N' Roses. but recently ive been listening to alot of ska and reggae like Sublime, Reel Big Fish, and Bob Marley. It just gives you a calm feeling when you listen to it.

Linkin Park isn't awesome just yet, but they are getting there i think. If they keep doing original stuff, like in their latest CD, they'll get there. I know some of the fans were pissed cuz it was too diffrent, but im happy they started doing something new.

AFI is just average imo, they have several good songs, bla bla, just like any other band.

AFI originally formed in 1991, they disbanded/spread apart for college and after a reunion show in 1993 dropped out and started playing full time again. First full length wasn't until 1995, though.

Linkin Park formed in 1996 as a band called Xero and after two name changes and some personnel changes becames Linkin Park around 98 or 99. Their breakout album Hybrid Theory (which was the band's second name) didn't come out till 2000.

lol, they arent punk dude. the "emo" genre is a sub genre of punk. so I guess your right in the way of listing bands has "alternative", "metal", "rock", or "punk". the "emo" that AFI is IS NOT anything like just good old punk, or what just regular punk is. Back on topic: there was one LP song a dude at my work was listening to, and I thought it sounded alot like U2, was it off their new album? I only have their 1st album cuz I'm not that big of a fan (think they are uber over rated now days, but they are better than AFI).
