And as far as Orihime goes, her and Ichigo will always just be close friends. If there were going to be any kind of love relationship something would have hinted towards that already I think. But isn't this exact speculation just one of many points that keeps us watching? I'm thinkin it will never be resolved.

I think rukia is more probable because she has more influence on ichigo, which reflects how important she is to him. although I cannot say their relationship is one of romantic, but it's definitely the most unique and most developed in bleach. also, ichigo seems to pay more attention to her whenever they are together, whether alone or in a group.

I just can't see ichigo reciprocating orihime's love because... he shows no interest in her. i mean how many times has he ignored her to talk to other characters? their relationship seems like any regular plain friendship and ichigo isn't pushing for a change.

I personally feel orihime's confession in ch.237(?) is meant to strengthen her character because, as of now, her world revolves around ichigo and no one else. this, to me, is a character flaw that hinders her from maturing and developing. she forgets most of her friends, even once best friend tasuki(sp?). actually, she forgets her own identity as well. orihime's love has been one-sided since beginning and will probably stay that way, so she can get over this obsession and be a stronger character.

Granted they don't match up, but it was just a musing that I noticed as I was writing the post, not a heavily thought out argument. Either way ->

Just to make a few people tear out their eyes. Though I suspect that won't have the intended effect.

Aaanywho, there's a lot more to make Ichigo and Inoue work than there is Ichigo and Rukia. At least, more working against Rukia. For one, one's a shinigami and the other is a human with shinigami powers, but still overall human (or so the story has said thus far). Rukia is ten times as old as Ichigo... I just don't know if that much of an age gap is consolable.

Meanwhile there's the whole Renji thing, and I see a lot more of Renji being with Rukia than Ichigo with her. Strong, long-term friendship between them, similar age, both are shinigami... it's just a lot more likely. And with Rukia taken, and Inoue sending the love she does to Ichigo, just strikes me as the way it should be.

Rukia and Ichigo act much in the same way I and my best friend do (minus kicking each other in the face). I promise you I am most certainly NOT in love with my best friend.

He has shown no adequate "feeling", however if we judge by simple attraction alone, a woman with a well-developed bust and rounded hips is far more attractive than a stick-woman.

Because you care about who he ends up with. If you really "didn't care" you would have seen them both equally, but since you have a personal preference (and therefore "care"), you see IchiRuki more. Otherwise, either can be supported by moments from the manga. It's just that in IchiOri there is at least half the thing needed: one side's love. The next part, the other side's love, will come eventually. IchiRuki only has friendship.

Inoue is growing on me..fast. She had basically no role in the SS arc, and I pitied the big-breasted short-skirted girl who ran around helplessly. I felt she was Kubo's method of grouping more fanboys .. which is why i intially dismissed her character as a comedic siderole who will always be vying for the hero's attention but never receiving anything in return.

Her role and dress (thus kubo's sense of decency imo) has dramatically improved.

Rukia considers Ichigo to be her nakama, which I don't believe to be something of an intimate relationship...more of really close, almost like brother and sister. My impression from watching the anime is that Orihime loves Ichigo but Ichigo loves Rukia. The thing is, unless Rukia can stay permanently on earth or Ichigo dies there's no way the two of them can be together.

Orihime, on the other hand lives in the same world as Ichigo. I agree with the point that Rukia brought Ichigo out of situations he can't handle by his own.

I still feel that Tatsuki would be the best girl for Ichigo. Orihime for Ishida, and Rukia for Renji. Tatsuki has that level of maturity which would suit Ichigo pretty well because he really has to be more matured. Ishida, on the other hand is on the more matured side and so can take care of Orihime. A lot of people seem to think that Ichigo and Rukia will be together because Rukia's shikai is white while Ichigo's bankai is black.

Ignoring the obvious mismatch (bankai and shikai? Ichigo's shikai doesn't have a special color scheme), I have checked several other characters and came up with astounding results...

First and foremost, Kuchiki Byakuya's bankai, Senbonzakura Kageyoushi, is WHITE. The purest white. Ichigo's BANKAI is black.

Black and white? Yin and Yang? Theire personalities also match this.

Therefore, I believe that Ichigo and Byakuya must be together, according to this theory.

However, there is also evidence that suggests that Ogichi and Ichigo may be going out. Ogichi, aside from being the reversed Ichigo, is also WHITE while Ichigo is BLACK.

There, I just found TWO men with whom Ichigo holds possible love using the very same logic many IchiRuki supporters use to prove that IchiRuki is legit.

Actually he got all emo when it concerned Orihime, not Rukia. And as for the saving part... Ichigo went against enemies he knows he can't defeat for Orihime's sake. He had no such pre-info when it was about Rukia. He didn't know about bankai, about proper shikai...

Now, when it concerns Inoue, he knows his bankai is useless. He knows he can't even beat the 6th Espada with his mask... and yet he still goes to great lengths for her.

Definitely with Rukia, since I think the "bound" between them is stronger than the one between Ichigo and Orihime. Of course it would be easier if Ichi liked Orihime, but no one can change their heart. Ichigo likes Orihime only as friend.
I don't personally like neither Rukia or Inoue; Rukia is too heroic(?) and Inoue is just... pitiful. If I had to pair Rukia to someone, my first choice wouldn't surely be Ichigo but Renji.
Rukia has Renji, Ichigo has someone clever from the real word and Inoue just cries alone in the corner. That'd be best for me. :D

why would it be stronger with rukia? He knows Orihime longer than rukia, her brother died in the hospital of his father (or he was already dead ... I forgot), she convinced him to go after Rukia (nobody had to convince him to go and save Orihime), he always protects her, he wants to save her eventough it could kill him, they are friends, ...
He saved rukia eventhough it could kill him, she helped him save his family by giving him shinigami powers, they are friends, ... did I forget something?
From this point I think Ichigo and Rukia do have a strong "bound" as friends ... nothing less, nothing more. The bound between Rukia and Ichigo is the same as between Tatsuki and Ichigo (they fight often too) and they aren't lovers too, right?
Of course it would be easier if Ichi liked Orihime, but no one can change their heart. Ichigo likes Orihime only as friend.

Rukia and Ichigo are supposedly the main characters in the series, but for some reason Orihime has been overplayed far more than Rukia so far.

Personally, I think Orihime should be with Ichigo (age, no potential sig. other, known each other longer) since Rukia has Renji to fall back on and everything. But realistically, I think Rukia and Ichigo are gonna end up together by the end. They show them bickering all too often in the intro vids -- a common theme for down-the-line anime couples

There is absolutely nothing to point that Rukia LOVES Ichigo. There is absolutely nothing to point that Ichigo LOVES anyone. But at least Orihime loves Ichigo, so it's half the relationship done already. Rukia had sex with Renji, we all know that.

And I know it might be worthless but when she tells herself not to die and thinks about her friends, they are all in a frame with somebody else except ichigo who is the last one she thinks about and who is also in a rather romantic pose. Plus between each sequence of her friends she moves. Like for the one with ishida and chad she tightens her fist, with byakuya and renji she raises her body a little and then with ichigo's picture in which he is alone and in a heroic pose she looks up and has the "look of love and resolve" in her eyes. Not so subtle in my opinion but interested in how you will deny that that is what happened.
