To be honest it kinda looks like a simplified version of Grimmjow. It's messy too.

Well it looks... good, I mean for a basic character design, you rarely see something like that going on. (Usually you see a really crappily drawn stick figure with spikey hair), this is draft quality stuff that is exceptionally good for a planning stage. I say you try taking it back to the drawing board a little, maybe giving some more.... unique features that flavors up this specific new character. I mean it's good but it lacks some detail and some uniqueness in the design is all. It has good potential though and I'd really like to see another variation of him in the future =3. Keep up the good work!

Not bad man, I think you did quite well. Although he does look a lot like a simplified Grimmjow. I dont really care though, the only way you can really get it right is by basing your character on an existing one (if you're a beginner that is).
You should try cleaning up your sketches though =P
Great work, keep posting your work ^^

IMO:
it looks way too much like grimmjow.
when you do hair try to make the hair sit on top of the line of the skull otherwise it looks like his hair is like growing out of where his brain should be.
you have the proportions but you need to cleanup your line work. and his head seems too big for his shoulders.
that is unless his age is like 12-14. remember shoulders are the two headlengths wide
hope that helps :P

*lols at thread*
How did it get revived?
Anyway yea there are allot of errors in it.
Thanks for the "shoulders as long as head rule" I never heard of it ^^

There are a lotta good tricks like that to get your proportions right... if you're serious about drawing, you can PM me and I'll give you a link to all the books by a guy named Loomis, basically the bible for all types of artists.
Or you could just glance over them and use it to improve your proportions

I like the way you make your shades, you definately have the basics, just put a little more time on it, work with shadows and details as for example.
Look forward to my own Espada, going to paint one tonigh and hopefully upload it too :)

Agreeing with the errors.
Kid, you can do better.
Coz being an artist is all about improving your skill.
Learn anatomy more, or try using a skeleton to draw over.
You know, those pose frames, or whatever...
It helps...
But I don't really enjoy using them myself... >_>;
Maybe I'm just lazy like that... <.<;
