How old do you think you will be before you stop watching anime?

It's a serious question. Are you totally addicted to anime or is it just a hobby? Do you find yourself spending most of your time searching the internet for anime/watching anime in your free time? I can tell you, I'm already in my mid-20s and I'm still checking anime and manga updates every so often whenever I have the time, or even when I'm supposed to be busy doing something else! I know some of you guys are in the same boat.

When do you think you will actually 'grow out of anime'?

Well, watching anime is to me a seasonal thing - if I bump into a good series, I might watch it intently for couple of weeks, then search for nothing new in months. Or years. And I've never really been part of the fandom, although I have friends to whom, sometimes, Anime Is Life.

I'd think that if I see something good, I'll watch it, regardless of my age. One of the fascinating sides of eastern animation is that it isn't as strictly a children's thing than western is (excluding a few exceptions). If it's accepted that cartoon doesn't imply childish, I don't see why I would stop watching anime any more than any other kind of programs. My attitude towards it may change a bit, though, and surely, as I grow older, I'll also have less time for such activities.

I don't really know, i hope i'll stick to watching anime very long. But when it comes to anime i'm really picky. So far i only liked 4 anime shows: Dragonball / z / gt (when i was younger), Naruto, Bleach and Death Note. Death Note is about to end so that droppes 1 and i don't reallly watch DBZ. So eventually i can only really watch 2 shows, wich are really awesome and (especially Naruto) both have alot of episodes to come.

I just hope to keep enjoying anime for a really long time.

The characters are better and I love the art and style as well. To me its not a cartoon (like my husband says to me all the time).

I'm not sure. I didn't start watching anime until I was in my early 20's. I suppose once I run out of series I'm interested in enough to watch instead of doing other things. I think anime is experiencing greater acceptance as entertainment for adults because of more titles coming out out that would appeal to wider audiences, like Death Note.

People say that about all sorts of things. I thought I'd be playing video games regularly for a long time. Didn't happen. The last console system I bought was my SNES. I just didn't see much in video games that attracted me enough to invest in a whole new system after that. I've seen a game or two over the years that's made me consider investing in a new system, but I've never gotten to the point of actually doing it. I got a Game Boy Advance SP a year ago or so, but I don't play it that much overall.

Well, I also thought that I won't watch any anime, three years ago, I decided - "Im to old for this, im starting highschool, I will need to study hard for final exams and i don't have time for this". Of course that sounded logical then, yet after two years, couple of months before final exams I started watching Bleach xD Probably failed history-exam, but there's always another year. Well, for me, I'm still young and anime is more like a hobby rather than an obsession to me. However, I don't think I'll 'grow out of anime.' Anime is something that I deeply enjoy watching, and I don't think that I'll ever lose that feeling everytime I watch it. If I ever do lose interest, I can see myself around my 30s or 40s when (or if) I have other things to concentrate on. But I know heaps of people who are in their 20s (and even 30s) who still watch anime, who still check for updates, and who still download heaps of it everyday.

I don't think I can ever get too old for anime. I mean i started watching it when I was 4 when ronin warriors and sailor moon would show at night. I've been watching since I was a little child. When you grow up in an asian household it is not considered weird to still watch anime as an adult. I will probably still watch anime when I'm old~! My mom still watches anime, and she's in her fifties.

I watch off and on as the years go by. I look for one or two good series to stick by until they finish off. Bleach doesn't seem like it will stop anytime soon though, so I think I'm still going to be watching it ten years from now. :snickers:

It's hard to say for me. I'm not really a big fan of anime, but I still watch it if I like what it's about. So if there's atleast one good anime I like I'll probably watch... and occasionaly... It's better than what else is on, heh.

I don't plan to stop watching anime anytime soon. I may stop watching it as much as I do, once Naruto and Bleach get finished but that's going to be awhile. I'll probably start watching it less addictivly once I get more busy in lift, but I'll still find a time to watch it.

I started watching anime when I was 6 starting with Akira. I quit watching anime when I was 13 in favor of American shows like Family Guy. A friend got me into bleach a bit cause he said it was like the most awesome thing and I trust him cause hes cool. I techanically have stopped watching cause I'm busy I'm trying to catch a few bleach eps so I can hang out with him here.

I have been watching anime off and on since I was 8, so I don't think I will stop permanently for awhile. Maybe when I am in my 70's I'll stop.
