OMG for the first time in over a century a FILLY wins the prestigious belmont stakes, the third leg of the american triple crown for thoroughbred racehorses! and it was so amazing how she did it! at the start of the race she stumbled out of the starting gate and ALMOST FELL DOWN! she regained her footing quickly and went on running, but she was going so wide around the track that i thought she'd lost too much ground to win. but when she came around the final turn she was still full of energy and went to the lead! preakness stakes winner Curlin, however, was not gonna just LET her win, he went right with her and the two battled it out down the homestretch like champions. Rags To Riches fought hard and beat Curlin by inches! i was jumping up and down and screaming at the tv "COME ON RICHES, YOU CAN DO IT!!! COME ON, RICHES!!!" ive never been so exited over a race! i just hope this encourages more owners and trainers to run fillies against colts more often. GIRL POWER!!! YAY!!!
