Renji's Tatoos

So, out of speculation, do you think Renj's tatoos are reated to his spiritual power, or just because he enjoys needles injecting ink into him?

We only notice the tatoos after he starts as a shinigami student, and from there they increase from just eyebrows, to forehead, to neck to chest, etc.

So, speculation? Is he just a punk with an attitude, or a punk with power?

it probably has more meaning than even he understands, but i bet its him being a young punk... yet i still feel its gonna play in somehow... maybe with his bankai or something

i thought those tattoos were added everytime he went up a level in the shinigami academy since renji didnt have any when he just got into shinigami academy (i think this was ep46 or something...) then in another earlier ep where it talked about renji and rukia's childhood, renji added the tattoos when he went up a level in the shinigami academy and was about to tell rukia about it but she got adopted into byakuya's noble family

sounds like the truth, the putting the tatoos on as he goes up the levels of shinigami sounds best to me ^_^

I think he has tatoos just because of his punkish attitude. Rikichi has tattoos as well just like Renji's.
