The 13 Divisons

Okay. Based on the Anime, I'm trying to figure out what each of the Divisions do. It's really weird but I only have a little, if someone could enlighten me, that'd be good.

1st Division - Like... Government stuff? Head of all the... uh... like schools... and stuff?

2nd Division - Special Mobile Corp.... unless that's something different. I know it has something to do with, everyone in that Division is fast. o.o

3rd Division - ... uh.. that's Gin's so.... being cool! Because Gin is Fox Boy! >.> I actually don't know this one.

4th Division - Duh... Emergency Relief! Bring in the Manta Ray! And of course... other... demeaning... duties..

5th Division - Aizen/Momo. Hmm... no clue. Something to do with Kidoh... I'm sure.

6th Division - WTF do they do? It's like a Wanna-be 11th Division. Maybe just being strong... *shrug*

7th Division - You got a Bucket-head Guy and a Dude with Flames Tattoo'd on his back.... wtf?

8th Division - Uhm... this is... Kyouraku/Nanao..... uh. Getting Drunk! o.o No I haven't a clue.

9th Divison - ..... Blind guy and a man with 69 on his cheek. .......... I'm not going to even comment on this one...

10th Divison - Hmm. Whitey-chan and Matsumoto. No clue. At all. Probably does like... well... he had paper work to do.... so... I'm guessing it's like... regulates the daily duties of the Soul Society.

11th Divison - Weird hairstyles and fuggin' strong.

12th Divison - Technology and research. Sick bastard..... not you Kisuke, the other one.

13th Divison - I'm guessing Medicene, but then again.... Ukitake is still sick.... but he knew about the like... punch to the gut manuver by Yoruichi... I wouldn't have a clue.

1st Division - head of all other divisions... captain is yamamoto, dunno the vice captains name though, some moustache dude...

2nd Division - i think its secret mobile corps, not sure... captain is soi fong, previous captain is yorouichi

3rd Division - captain is ichimaru gin and vice captain is kira or something

4th Division - healing/medical division and also does other crappy jobs that the other divisions dont want to do... forgot who the captain was...

5th Division - captain is aizen and vice captain is hinamori

6th Division - captain is byakuya kuchiki and vice captain is renji

7th Division - i dunno wat they do

8th Division - captain is kyouraku and vice captain is nanao, dunno wat they do

9th Divison - i dunno wat they do

10th Divison - captain is hitsugaya and vice captain is matsumoto

11th Divison - captain is zaraki kenpachi... some kinda fighting division, supposed to be all really strong and yeh all have weird hair styles :LOL:

12th Divison - technology and research department, captain and head of department is mayuri kurotsuchi... previous was urahara

13th Divison - captain is ukitake and vice captain is kaien, though he is dead... rukia is also in this divison... dunno wat they do though

I don't know why you guys think all the divisions have different roles. We've heard that one division has a reputation for strong fighters, the 11th, and one division is the medical division. The rest are just like normal military divisions.

Soi Fong is the head of Covert Ops but I don't think they are related to the 2nd division. Mayuri is the head of Research but I don't think that is related to the 12th division. The gotei 13 are really just the military of soul society. Soul societies government is the central chamber of 46.

Because they do all have different roles and specialised abilities for their units.

hmm, i think the divisions have different styles of fighting, 5th mihgt specialise in death god arts. It was 13th division that was going to be the team to take down the powerful hollow when kaien dies, if it was that powerful wouldnt you give it to 11th division?

13th division is known for loyalty amongst all shinigami's. From the captain i guess.. he is kind, gentle, loyal and all

The secret mobile corps (onmistukido) isn't the same as the 2nd division. They are two seperate enteties. Things are a bit confusing because Soi Fong leads both 2nd Division and the Onmitsukido.
In the past the Onmitsukido was led by Yoruichi, who was never part of Gotei 13

Besides I don't see why it must be that every division has a separate task, because some have extracuriccular tasks.
The only division with a specific other task is the 4th division, which acts as a medic unit.
All other are just military units, imo.

i know the 13th division is always dealing with hollows in the human world. never seen anyone from the other divisions doing that somehow...

haha it's funny how most people in divisions reflect their captain or vice captain's characters. ^^

3rd Division is about doing dubious things and maintaining an aura of uncertainty for other squads around you. Eventually that will turn into fear and no one will want to mess with you. It will also draw members because such a reputation usually means strength. In the end, you can do whatever you want because the other squads suck. :whatevah:

I always figured that 8th division might have something to do with intelligence gathering or something. Shunsui and Nanao are both smart as hell and Nanao has that big book. Also, whenever they talk, they just seem so damn aware of everything that is going on.

I'm not really sure. All I know is that 4th division are in charge of medical relief and cleaning of the sewage and 1st division is in charge of everything.

i agree. Both know exactly whats going on. I think the reason they do stupid stuff sometimes tho is to just alliviate the pain of, perhaps, their victims? look at chad for example. they were just goofing around before they attacked. so idk. just an idea

I guess ppl just left the 13th division alone after it shrank so much in size after the Kaien episode. It seems not all divisions have specific areas of control..

I don't think they bring back all shinigami. When they went to go pick up Rukia Renji said they were chosen for this mission so either it was random or they chose them because they knew her the best.

Guys this is my take on it. Only first division has a set task, it is the leader of the rest of the captains. All the others traits are determined by there captains. 4th is a healing squad because Unohana exepts weaklings and teaches them all how to heal. 11th is a fighting squad because zaraki would rather die than even know the name of a weakling. 12th is into research cause Mayuri is a psycho *****(and head of research and development). There not set by squad but by captain. Im sure each division has special jobs. Like running senkai gate. And that all divisions has too keep up with there own affairs. But traits arent determined by division number. lol. at least thats what i think at the moment

1st division seem to be the military command - their general is also the commander general.
2nd division seem to have a connection to the SMC since their present captain is also the head of the SMC.
3rd division are plain mysterious (like their captain :D).
4th is healing (mentioned in the series).
5th - possibly Kidou specials, but maybe they are rsponsible for internal defence (for the outer rings... they seemed to be all around the area).
6th - Any suggestions? Cause I have 0 ideas on those people.
7th - Same as above
8th - have we even seen any of those guys doing something beyond being mopped up by Chad?
9th - "Justice Handlers"?
10th - "Freezing then heating you up" division?
11th - Combat specialists.
12th - Special Development and Research division.
13th - Apparently they are responsible for gathering info on unknown Hollows (like the one that killed Kaien).
