i want to ask. is paypal really safe?
some of my classmates said its really dangerous to use it.
(well maybe bcause if you dont know anything)
i want some informations from expirienced people here.
is there a scamming that i shud avoid?
wat are the bad things that i shud be aware of?
im still a child. thank you for helping. i dont have parents so i cant ask them sorry.
------------
pls dont post silly things and answer seriously.
a child is seeking for logic.

hm.. I've used paypal alot of times. >__>
The only bad thing I could say is once you get this paypal of yours
you wont stop spending your cash on online stuff or online shopping.
I should know, I got grounded for over spending 200 bux >__>
and paypal doesnt make you an adult x3

yushin
06-19-2007, 06:09 AM
not really using it as purchasing stuff.
just send and reciv money thru it. just like that. is that safe?
Miyagi Rikku
06-19-2007, 06:10 AM
depends if you know who is this person... sometimes there are alot
of scammers. Saying theyre gonna send you the stuff and yeah
but they dont... and etc
yushin
06-19-2007, 06:11 AM
no from relatives actually.
is it safe? how much interest do they cut.
Miyagi Rikku
06-19-2007, 06:13 AM
hmm... then that is fine. Though, the identity theft is another issue
for that matter. I am not really sure how secure paypal is now today.
Its been 2 years since I have used any cause of my over spending. x3

well yeah.. thats common sense.
but i want advice from expirienced users.
some people here are not actually helping me and not seriously answering.
hey how much do you pay if you inquire for a master card?
it requires that you have a job right?
and about the expiration stuff. i dont know anything about it.
@pie
hey its part of adulthood to learn that stuff right?
your having a bad thots. your scary
Let me get this straight...you want a PayPal account so you can order as an adult, correct? How old are you anyway?

What type of advice are you looking for?
Miya & pie pretty much answered and gave their opinion.
I've also used paypal & never had any problems.
This still doesn't mean all online transaction are 100% secure.
there is always a risk.
If your not prepared to handle the responsibility, don't use it
Miyagi Rikku
06-19-2007, 06:36 AM
Don't rush it in my opinion... I did and I had to pay the price XD *looks at mom*
@_@
also to get approved for a credit card, you need your own ATM
account first then when youre 18 you can apply for a credit
card. If they see that you have credit score and yeah
they will approve you.
I just got my credit card wee D: >__> SUCKS THO
yushin
06-19-2007, 06:44 AM
as i said. sorry that a child cant express it very well. pls dont think of bad thoughts.
i am not rushing. i just seek logic so that i know what i do in the future.
what type? well just the things that i shud be aware of.
any bad exp. using it wud be good so i can learn from other peoples mistakes.
well.. the way how you people use it is also good.

question is how old are you? :P
Are you using a Credit Card or Bank Account? If so, how did you get ahold of said items assuming you are under 18 (Well, I guess you can have a savings account)?
yushin

You don't really paypal to become adult, I don't where you got this way of thinking. The best way for you to adult in not let others to contral your life and be carefully of your actions. Also think first and ask your self is this right or wrong, plus learn different things about your self over time and learn about our world (what really going). Finally, if do go through something really bad, ask yourself how would you be able to handle yourself in those trouble time. Oh, I also forget, take a it would not hurt you learn to start taking of yourself, by learning how to cook, clean, and taking up activity to test your skills whatever it be mind or body.

I have had mine since I was like 16 or so and it has been secure for years.
No problems with money or service or whatnot, although I do not use it often.
It is very secure (in terms of actually being attacked), but I would recommend if you do get an account to make a long, alphanumeric, and unguessable password (mine is in the upper teens, but that is a little extreme).
And of course make sure your computer is relatively free from trojans and keyloggers and such. Although I have never had an such problems.

Sorry to sound mean and all and probably burst your bubble. But if you're trying to get paypal because you think it's gonna help you grow up some how, you should just cut the whole idea off. How old are you anyway? You sound like some little kid eager to go out and prove a point that you're big and bad. Before you really get yourself into trouble, just stop and cut your idea out while you're ahead. Getting into something you don't even really know about with an intention of "I wanna be more like an adult, so I wanna use paypal because adults use it" is just plain stupid. And if someone or something is manipulating you to get paypal becuase they say that they can send you money, it's a scam. You know you can't get credit if you're not 18 or older (I'm basing this on the state of California) and don't have a job, not to mention if you don't even have a credit history (for major credit cards, like mastercard) or a good credit history at that.
And secondly, if I were you, you shouldn't even think about using paypal to transfer money. You don't even know if people are going to scam you for your money. I can't believe you can trust people so easily on the internet with your most personal information.
If you really wanna be more like an adult, let me tell you something. You don't go on a an ANIME FORUM and ask people if you should get paypal. LOL. That's just a laugh right there. (For all the CB members here, I don't mean this as an insult to you. However, please look at this from a mature and realistic point of view.) If you want it so bad, look at the terms and conditions before you even ask anyone. RESEARCH AND DO YOUR OWN WORK to figure out if paypal is the thing for you. That's what an "adult" would do.
Personally, if you wanna get paypal so bad, why don't you ask your parents about it? And if they say it's fine for you to have it, then have at it. At least you know when worst comes to worse and you actually decide to get paypal because you wanna "show that you're an adult," your parents can cover for your irresponsibility if anything goes wrong.
If you really wanna learn what it's like to be an adult, ask your parents. But since you're a little kid, I doubt you'll even listen. And if you're so eager to be like an adult, finish school, get a degree, and make some money.

Sorry my friend, but let's wait till you're actually an adult 'k? I'm afraid that asking us for help on becoming an adult is a little... dumb. We're mature (most of us anyway), but this is certainly not the place and not the time.
Thread locked, and ask your parents about PayPal help before asking the forum.

Invest in a good dictionary instead, study it, then buy a few books on grammar and English language. Once you can freaking speak, you are ready for a paypal account. By the way, it is part of the terms and conditions that you are at least 18 to make a paypal account, so signing up would be illegal and they can take your money at any time if they find out. And I'd tell them, because I'm evil. Bai! :D
