personally, I do. I used to live in a house built in 1903 in southern Alabama that had a dry well under it.......doors were always opening and closing and foot steps in the attic which could be written off to creepy old house but one night I was all alone washing dishes with just the small light over the sink on and then I saw a freggen white woman's hand on my arm.....creeped me out. so turned all the lights in the house on and called friends. that was back when I was 19. so it isn't like I was a little kid and was just letting my imagination getting the best of me.:eek13:

I think its on a 'see it to believe it' basis. I do not disbelieve that ghosts exist because I have no reason to other than I haven't seen it. The idea behind them entailing they don't really leave much behind in ways of evidence prevents a 'look, its true everyone' followed by people can make a ghost out of a coke can with computer skills.

So I do not disbelieve, but have not seen to fully believe. It's just one of those things outside my own experience

i had an ecounter i guess
there was noone else awake in the house, and i heard a noise, i look up from my bed, and a women in white, (her arms were white too, and her hair) was saying something, at first i though it was my imagination, so i pick up my cell to see wat time it is, and i flip it open, and it says call ended, apparently there was conversation happening for about a half hour (while my phone wasnt flipped open, it doesnt work when not open), and the number dialed was a 9 digit number, in order for a call to work it has to have 10 digits (7 plus area code) so i just sat there trying to listen to the womens voice for the rest of that nite but there was nothing... creepy

Personally, I think they don't.
Though, my sister always says that there are various ghosts in our house; and she isn't a kid, she is 25 years old now.
Most likely she imagined that; after all she has been for 4 years now sleeping an average of 4-5 hours per day, including the fact that she loves scary movies XP.

when I was 11, me my brother and our Mother , with the encouragement from mine and my brother's English teacher tried out a Ouija Board.

we sat down at the dinning room table after having locked all the doors for the night and gave it a whirl. we asked a few questions and not much happened. then the wind picked up outside and the front door flew open. after closing the door, my mom started asking questions. and found out the name was Patrick and he was asleep on a ship that had run aground on the rocks. She asked all kinds of questions from around the time period the said he thought it was and to her amazement he got most everyone right. She was sure my brother was screwing around and that the reasons for all the questions since he sucked at history and there was no way he could have guessed all those answers correctly. then we asked if it was him that blew open the door and he said yes and he started asking questions about things he saw around the dinning room.

My Mother got a bit freaked out about the whole thing and destroyed the board because Patrick said if there were no board he wouldn't come back to talk to us again.

since then, I've never been able to get one to work ever again.
I know what most likely will be said.....................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Bull !!! but I was there and so was the rest of my family and no we had NOT just hit the old crack pipe just before trying it out. laugh if you want, i just thought I'd share a bit of my past.

There's a lot more out there then you can see, hear, feel, or taste. with an open mind you'd be surprised what the possibilities are. I'm sure we haven't discovered everything there is to be discovered.

Anyway, I don't belive in ghosts even though Iv'e seen some strange stuff myself. When I think I was something odd, I've never gotten the chance to see anything clearly, so it's most likely just my mind playing tricks. Strange noises usually have a logical explanation.

I'll tell ya my experience though.

I was at my uncle OLD house, and when I say old I mean pretty dang old, like ugly creepy old, he moved, thank goodness... but I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth, to make my teeth nice and fresh before bed, my dad was in the guest room reading, my mom and uncle were talking outside.
But while I was brushing my teeth there was a loud thumping on the door. I yelled "dad what are you doing" no response. Another thumping on the door but even louder this time and I said "dad what are you doing!" and I heard him say FROM LIKE 5 ROOMS DOWN "I'm not doing anything"
I ran out of that room so fast and my mom and uncle were still outside, and I asked my dad what that loud thumping on the door was and he said "I thought it was you"...

It was very creepy.

I do find it more entertaining to think they might exist, hence my love of stories of the like. Also, I always thought that only a crazy ghost would show up in front of people, it would be the last peace they'd ever have with hacks like taps and whatnot beating on the door wanting footage, teens trying to scare the pants off (probably literally) of their dates and the other tons of people who want to sit around just to say nothing is there.

So pretty much I do not believe in ghosts, but I love the idea of them. Ghost stories are still neat to me just like all the other tales I like to immerse myself in. I can't say I'd actually like to see any though, fun and games usually stops when reality sets in.

i have this religion teacher who always get sidetracked and ends up telling us stories of herself and this one just happened to be a story about a ghost. in her garage she used to have a ghost that seemed rather friendly except it kept opening and slaming hte garage door even though the door was locked.
one day she told her hairdresser and her hairdresser told her that there was a ghost in her garage. so her hairdresser told her to go into her garage at night, switch off the light and see if theres a beam of light and if there is, she can politely ask the ghost to go away.
that night my teacher went in and with hte light on she told the ghost to only shine a little bit of light because she was scared. then she turned of the light and screamed because there really was a light. so she just ran out of the garage and went straight to bed. the next day she told her husband but he just said 'yeah there's a ghost in the garage and there are rocks in your head!' thenhe went to the garage door, opened it and yelled out 'hello!! go away!!' she told him off for htat.
so the second night she went back in and politely told the ghost to go away and right after she finished her sentence our classroom door handle moved. we all screamed like crazy and the teacher jumped halfway across the room away from it.

I believe in ghosts, spirts and the after life. I'm pretty spiritally aware so at times i can sense when one is around me. Had quite a few experiences when i saw ghosts or felt them. Though i'm the type of person that i have to see it to believe it, main reason i don't believe in god but because of the experiences i had with ghosts i do believe in them now.

Most people never really had an experience with a ghost because there closed off, or choose not to believe. Theres alot of different ways to become spiritally aware, main this is a high sense of self awareness and paying attention to things around you. Atleast thats how it started for me with sensing and seeing ghosts.

I usually take sometime out of the day for self reflection and meditating. ( no distractions in the way just peace and quiet with my mind and the suroundings)

I don't think he was addressing you directly and of course is welcome to express his opinion if he doesn't agree with the majority of voters. Although, less of the "BS" talk please, phantomko and fullmetal rebel managed to disagree without annoying others. He's new to the forum and this time I'm willing to let it slide as long as it doesn't become a habit.
