Actually the title has nothing to do with Ichigo's hair, no if we look at the series, whats the entirething based aroudn.....? Souls AKA Ghosts! ghost n most stadings are white, bleach is tied with the fact that ghost are white, therefore explaining the title.

IMO, the title is really referring to Ichigo's hair because as they say, even if it's natural (or so Ichigo says) it looks 'bleached' and in one way or another, it speaks alot about Ichigo. For one thing, remember when Chad saved him and they had a conversation after that, didn't Ichigo said that others kept on picking on him because his hair stands out most of the time? It was almost similar to the fact that his power is so badass that other entities kept on picking up on him. (Also, none of the other characters believed that his power was his own because they've always regarded it as a hunch of Rukia's powers when all the while it really was from him---again, ALMOST similar to the fact that no one believed that his hair color is natural ^_^)

Ichigo's hair seems to be the most popular choice, but it is a tad strange.

I think it's called bleach because of the hollows. All of them have white masks. What is also something associated with all of the evil spirits of this kind in Bleach? They have all lost of their humanity. A spirit's transformation into hollow washes away it's humanity. In contrast, when a shinigami destroys a hollow it cleanses the original soul of its sins comitted in that form. Can anyone else see the trend here?

Their masks look like bleached bone.

When bones are in the Sun for a long time they turn this eery white.

So Bleah = Hollow
Could also have something to do whit Ichigo's hair, but i like my idea better.

Bleach can be explained as to clean and wipe out something. Since Shinigami's work is to clean up lost souls, it probably applies. It can applied as "reset" to turn them all to the right place, hence, the possibility of Bleach as a name.
Perhaps it is just a spark as well.

maybe Kubo Tite never really quite got the meaning behind why Nirvana's album was named Bleach, and we was around the Nirvana circles all over and they had forums like these and they were saying things like "ooh maybe they used to get high on bleach" or "i heard the vocalist accidentally drank some bleach and his voice got better".

Then where he was drawing his manga and thinking of a name, he wanted something as incomprehensible as Nirvana's album. TA DA! also, maybe he modelled some of the characters after Nirvana!
