World Wrestling Entertainment is deeply saddened to report that today Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home. There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities.

Well I never met him but by the things people had stated on the memorial service. He is not the type person to be doing that. Benoit is dead along with his Wife Nancy aka Woman and his son Daniel. They were found this afternoon at his house on Atlanta Georgia. The cause of his dead i still unknown but it was reported that Chris didnt report to the House shows and show he was on due to some sickness he and his wife had. The police is still investigating the situation.
Vince made the announcement on Raw tonight. The show was canceled and instead a show to tribute his memory was done. All the three brands were there paying tribute to him.
May he rest in Peace him and his family.

As far as I found on the news. Benoit sent an amount of 5 text messages from his wife cells. He sent the address of the house on Saturday. The WWE called the sheriff's department on the county to let them know about this. After they discover the bodies the police contacted the WWE and reported the findings. They decided to make the tribute show without knowing the full aspects of the situation. Its true that the steriods had been mentioned. And also it was mentioned that he was visiting a place on New York who was under investigation for selling steroids. The test will take weeks before reporting the results. IN the meantime its been said that he killed his wife first and then his son the next day. He killed himself on the weight room.
Also there were sources saying that he was having problems with his wife and that she was even filling for divorce.
Another details found was that each body had a bible near them. If I remember correctly Stephanie McMahon said he was a family man and that he really loved the family. Maybe this situation about loosing his family and other unknown factors for the moment had cause all of this. Who knows? But if he took steroids or stuff only time will tell.

As for WWE after knowing this events he made a talk on ECW's program apologizing and saying they will get as far as this situation as possible. THe ECW's program was made in the loving memory of the family members of the Benoit family. If I can get more info I will post it here guys.

Okay, here I am to clear up the misinformation everyone has. I watch news 24/7 and I followed this story since Day 1 (and even saw the press conference LIVE).

This is what is known to have happened:

1.) Chris Benoit (from here on out, known as CB, no not this CB) called off his attendance at a wrestling event (don't know wrestling so I don't know much about it) due to what he described as a "family emergency" and he mentioned his wife and kid were "vomiting up blood." It was unusual for him to miss an event.

2.) Chavo Guerrero (likely, based on reports of a "coworker") received weird text messages from CB sometime (I think on Sunday he discovered them, meaning they were sent sometime before that). The contents of the messages have not been revealed, but based on CB's close friend's testimony on Fox News he said they contained info on bank accounts and caring for the dogs and such, basically post-suicide info (Scriptures from the Bible were also speculated, but unconfirmed).

3.) Chavo (likely) contacted a WWE honcho (forgot who and don't feel like looking it up, it was just a random guy) who contacted local authorities to check on CB and his family. Apparently the police had a hard time entering due to two large German Shepherds in the yard.

4.) Police found Nancy Benoit in an upstairs family room area, found their son Daniel in an upstairs bedroom, and found CB in a basement weight room.

5.) Now the manner of death. Kind of disturbing, SO DON'T READ IF YOU ARE EASILY DISTURBED. All three died due to asphyxiation. Nancy was found with some blood below here head and bruising on her back and front. She was supposedly strangled with an electrical cord. She was likely chest down on the ground with CB on top of her and pressing her into the ground (as indicated by the bruising) as he wrapped the electrical cord around her neck and pulling upward or outward to strangle her. The son was found face down in the bed and it is possible he was killed while sleeping and was likely smothered with a bag (although the details of his death have not exactly been elaborated on). CB hanged himself in the weight room by wrapping a pulley cord for a weight machine around his neck and using the weights to asphyxiate and/or hang himself.

6.) The wife died first, likely on Friday night. The son died early-mid Saturday. CB died late Saturday or early Sunday. Meaning he was in the house with the bodies for at least a day *shudders*.

7.) A Bible was found next to the bodies of his wife and son, no Bible was found next to him. This could likely show that he knew that what he did was wrong and believed that his wife and kid would go to Heaven (the Bible's indicating their innocence) and he himself to Hell.

8.) The police found LEGAL prescription drugs in his house, including anabolic steroids. He tested clean in a April WWE-administered drug test. Some suspect roid rage, but due to the number of people in the WWE taking such drugs and the deliberation of the deaths, it is possible other things played a factor (like rampant depression, hopelessness, family problems, other drugs or alcohol, etc.).

9.) It will take at least two weeks for toxicology tests to come back. WWE will rescind their tribute of him via a Vince McMahon apology. He was arrested for DUI sometime back, never domestic violence.
