Any of you do these??? I do both and in TaeKwonDo I'm a third degree black, but I quit because it didn't work with homework and school!!! Muay Thai I could do because I get thought but a family member in the summer and week ends only and when home work was done. But doesn't mean TaeKwonDo wasn't the bomb to, it's really effective in times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I do Muay Thai and Ive only loast to a TKD fighter 1 or 2 times. I study more than Muay Thai but I think its more effective than any of the other styles I know to fight a TKD. As you know in Muay Thai we strike the foundation and jam the oppent and strike with elbows and knees. Ive got to say I just wait till they kick to my head and I kick thier legs out then when they get back up it knees elbows to their entire face and body.

I do Muay Thai and I would defineatly recommend it to anyone. I've never done TKD but my brother has who trains at the same gym as I do, and atleast he likes Muay Thai alot more. I suppose the best thing to do against TKD guys would be to be very agressive and constantly put pressure on him, and I would most likely strike the head or clinch and knee the face (If the rules allow this, most style vs style fights I've seen usually don't allow it). Don't TKD guys usually keep their hands down ? I don't understand why though.
Can't really comment on TKD, but in Muay Thai you learn to take a punch and get used to contact, which is very useful in a real situation if you have to defend yourself.

I do TKD .. I really love the kicking so *shrugs* but I know Muay Thai is a powerful martial art..
Im one belt of black currently (red 3). But I also have done weaponry training like knife throwing and bo-staff.
Muay Thai is easy to do. Your striking alot. But it is hard to condition your self. Over time in it you will have conditiond yer body to the point ware your bones are like razor blades. And I found that when giving a good block to TKD person who has unconditioned bones will not want to kick anymore. But Muay Thai has draw backs but not to TKD in particular. If knee and Elbow strikes are allowed in TKD and Muay Thai fight9/10 times a Muay Thai fighter wold win.
and if anyone cares I do, do Wai khru ram muay dance before I fight when I was younger and in tournaments

Practice bjj. Muah Thai is good, but you can practice that with anyone who is willing to work with you and improve. Work the clintch and you are good to go. Otherwise, Muah Thai has its limits.
