Mirai Nikki [Future Diary]

So I guess its time to share this piece.
The wiki "plot" (not hard spoilers)
Yukiteru has always been rejecting any offers to go with friends, and he just keeps writing a diary on his cell phone. He has an imaginary friend, a god called Deus Ex Machina. However, Deus now wants to play a game with Yukiteru, a game of survival. There are 12 contestants, Yuki is one of them. The winner of the survival game will become the next Deus Ex Machina. Each contestant is given a diary, and each diary is different, in order to win the game the contestants must use their diaries to eliminate one another. In order for Yuki to survive, he must team up with another diary holder, a girl by the name of Yuno.
Even thou this sounds like some avarage shonen review, this is definetly ain't no avarage shonen.
Its one of the strangest things I've read for some time now, definetly creepy and definetly new, but still enjoyable. You should be able to tell what I'm talking about quickly after the first few chapters. :)

The manga is at ch 26 or 27 now but the scanalating is doen swiftly, so 1-2 chapters pop up every few days, I'll try and update this post because rapidsearch can't always find them.

Seeing her get introduced and killed in the same chapter put me in the same depression as 100 chapters developed characters gave...

I just read it. Looks like the two girls are scheming together but they aren't diary holders. The detective kid is mysterious too and most likely hiding something.

But anyway Hinata does have a diary, the doggie guy gave her hes probably, funnily enough it means that destroying the diary won't save them now.


1st: Yuki has an absolute observation of everything around him for 90 days.
2nd: Yuno has an absolute observation of Yuki. Her diary lists objectives as well (HAPPY END).
3rd: Takao Hiyamama (DEAD) had the victim diary. He kept record of all the people he killed.
4th: Keigo Kurusu has an investigation diary which predicts major newsworthy events.
5th: Reisuke Houjou (DEAD) has a diary that tells the future 3 times a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Includes crudely drawn pictures.
6th: Tsubaki Kasugano (DEAD) has a diary that tells her what people who she has talked to are seeing.

9th: Minene Uryuu is a terrorist with an escape diary.
10th: Has a rearing diary that records the status of his dogs. Handed off to Hinata along with the dogs.

12th: Yomotsu Hirasaka (DEAD) has a hearing diary, which tells him when an injustice happens.

Btw if you dont get the "SUPERB" or such jokes through the scanalations, just disregard them, these are all 4chan /a/ memes, given that its an anonymous who scanalates this.
There might be a break, or a slowdown in translations, chinese translations are only up far to ch16, and its been translated from chinese to english, not japanese until now.

I've been reading this series after a recommendation from a friend, and I found it quite intriguing. He gave me a bad summary, and I disregarded it, thinking it sounded stupid.. but then he actually sent me the first chapter of the manga, and I was hooked. ^__^ Now I've read up to 19, and I'm eagerly awaiting to see what happens next~

Though, I don't know what could she use to blow a hole into the hose and ground without damaging anything else, not even the door.

Btw, I heard a theory that Yukki is actually already god or something like that. :)
For the "if that room behind the door wouldn't exist", and then having a bottomless pit in its place and such as base, and then Deus talking about him having a power over fate, though sounds stupid, its still a bit interesting.

I was never really into Death Note, only read the first couple volumes myself, but Mirai Nikki is way on top on my list of favorite manga.

Mirai Nikki has been pretty good about getting released once every 4-6 weeks, and since it's a monthly that makes sense. Perhaps you mean it makes you sad the weekly series can't be as good as the monthlies. ;)
