It's a tie. Ichigo doesn't have enough strength to get past Greed's skin, and Greed isn't fast enough or strong enough to damage Ichigo. They both survive..

This is certainly a strange match-up. I would choose Ichigo because he can move faster than greed can. If you mean Ichigo at the time he only has his shikai, then I truly don't know. But if you mean the current Ichigo only using shikai then definitely Ichigo.

I was pretty sure that Homunculi could not do alchemy. Isn't that why they had to use Ed to create the philosopher's stone for them?

Didn't know that as I did not finish the series. Didn't Ichigo say the only thing which could kill a Shinigami was a Zanpaktou? That doesn't even make sense anymore considering Ichigo has came close to dying due to people who didn't even use one...

Actually, if Ichigo is quick enough, he might actually be able to defeat greed. For any whose read the manga, King Bradly cut his body parts so fast that he wasn't able to regenerate or shield, so the same may apply to Ichigo.

Yes... shikai Ichigo can use Getsuga Tenshou.. the bankai version is KUROI Getsuga Tenshou

(black fang slicing the moon or something.)

Hmm... if shikai Ichigo ties with Zaraki, and Zaraki was able to slice off a whole building... I suppose it is possible for shikai Ichigo to cut through carbon. I mean, unless there was a specific way to kill Greed (remind me if there is. I haven't been watching the Ed vs. Greed episodes recently), I think it is more likely that Ichigo will win.

Then how did they tie? And besides, even if Zaraki's physical strength is greater than Ichigo's physical strength, it's not much greater. If so, show me proof, please.

Last time I check, shikai Ichigo and Zaraki BOTH shot huge waves of power at each other that knocked both parties out.

*sighs* OK, fine, Ichigo's huge wave of reiatsu knocked Zaraki out, so therefore, Ichigo's huge wave of reiatsu can knock Greed out. Happy?

They tie because Greed cannot beat Ichigo and Ichigo cannot beat Greed. You need to kill Greed with Alchemy and Ichigo cannot use Alchemy. Reiatsu is not a proper substitute.

I think that sprititual based power is something much higher than alchemy or magic :/ but that's just what I think.
If getsuga tenshou cuts through mountains, then I believe that Greed's armor would probable be cut through too, regarding hardness :/.
Just a thought I had in mind though.

I'm pretty sure Greed's skin has the hardness of diamond. There are not many other carbon based structures of that thinness that could take a hit from Elric's metal arm and not show any damage. If it really is that hard, then Ichigo's getsuga tenshou isn't going to do anything. Likewise, Greed can't fly and thus has no chance of hitting Ichigo.

If it's the current Ichigo using Shikai then he would win, but if it's Ichigo when he first came to Soul Society then Greed would win. (Unless Ichigo got lucky and 'accidentally' used Getsuga Tensho.)
