Plot Summary: A valuable artifact known as "King's Seal" is stolen by a mysterious group of people during transport in Soul Society. Hitsugaya Toushiro, the 10th division captain of Gotei 13, who is assigned to transport the seal fights the leader of the group and shortly after goes missing. After the incident, Seireitei declares Hitsugaya a traitor and orders the capture and execution of Hitsugaya. Kurosaki Ichigo refuses to believe this, and along with Matsumoto Rangiku, Kuchiki Rukia and Abarai Renji swear to uncover the real mastermind of the stolen seal, find Hitsugaya and clear his name. Meanwhile, a rogue Hitsugaya searches for the perpetrators and uncovers a dark secret regarding a long dead shinigami.

the reason for hitsugaya being "copied " to the enemies is becoz his one of those weak captains i think.. so it's easier to execute a weak ones :( ichigo gonna help the hitsu out of this i guess..

Anyway, this movie sounds good, but I'm gonna watch the first one when it comes out subbed before even considering watching this in RAW.

Well, I like Hitsugaya and all, but when he gets all the screentime during fillers, I kind of find that a bit less appealing. I think they should give other captains the same amount of screentime.

Who hasnt had enough of hitsu? Why couldnt it be come one else? Like Ukitake or Soifon? Some one who hasnt gotten much screen time at all. Why is it always him? Its like the animators are in love with him. Still sounds like an interesting movie.

Sadly its not just the animators... I rem reading that Toshiro replaced Rukia as most popular character (I dont know why Japanese have such a love for underage characters)

Nope, but DVD with subs is going to be released in Sepember - October. I had the exact date somewhere but I didn't like the raw version, so I probably won't bother watching the sub, so I don't really care. if you REALLY want I can dig the info up again though. ^^

Yeah I agree with Hits getting way too much screeentime. He's already has tons of screentime in both the Bounto arc and the arrancar arc. After 140 all of his speical attacks will have been revealed. Plus there are much more interesting captains to use for movies who are already well developed, like Byakuya or Kenpachi
The only reason I can think the animators stuck with Hitsugaya is because he's still insanely popular in Japan. Last time he was second behind Ichigo in the character polls. This time(whenever the next popularity poll will be held) he might even overtake Ichigo as the most popular character. It's kinda like the overwhelming popularity that Sasugay is having in Naruto right now, so much so that the current manga is all about him.

I for one DEFINATELY want to see Ichigo and hitsugaya fight. Hitsugaya should cause whatever they are fighting over by being an ignorant prick, lose horribly and drop in the fan ratings some so other characters can get on screen.

Over exposure is only creeping up my dislike to his character. He's a cool kid but we really don't need him everywhere except where it would simply be illogical for him to be, which is getting to be about everywhere. Who the deuce is running his squad? Bill and Joe back at the barracks? Extended vacation? Need those corporate vacation hours? (argh stop faxing me that crap like I can take a friggin vacation!)

Yamamoto during a meeting says "This needs to be done by...somebody" and hitsugaya is immediately hopping in the air going Pick Me Pick Me ooh mememememe!?

At first Hitsugaya was one of my favourite captains i understood the choice to give him as much screen time as possible seeing that he was one of the more popular characters among viewers, but theres only soo much you can take of seeing the same guy in countless retarded situations. It would of been far more interesting if they added more information about him being the incarnation of that heavenly guardian but i guess they don't want to add anything like that before Kubo has.

Seems like this movie will be more of a 1hr 30min filler rather than a movie with a well written plot.

Yeah, it's in the trailers.

And no, I most definitely would not even consider watching the fight. Ichigo's reiatsu should've been more than enough to pwn Hitsugaya's bankai. For Hitsugaya to block even a single move by Ichigo is giving him way too much credit. (and I most certainly hope it isn't bankai Ichigo who fights him, because that will be even more screw up)

History

Bleach:The Diamond Dust Rebellion is another arc of Bleach , which has not been shown yet in the manga, and there is no announcement yet if there will be any manga material for the movie. The movie will be a sequel to Bleach: Memories of Nobody , though it won't be a direct sequel and will feature old and new characters. the first movie had been released in Japan December 2006 , and has been released on dvd in Japan on September 5th 2007.
Ok, I got this info from wikipedia, does this imply that the Bleach movies are canon? Cos when the 2nd Bleach movie is mentioned here, it sounds like it is canon as they are talking about whether there will be manga material for the movie and stuff

No Bleach Movie or OAV (except "Memories in the Rain", which was basically manga chapters animated with almost insignificant changes) is canon. No material has appeared in the manga or in the databooks to the best of my knowledge.

Wikipedia is simply wrong.

I used to like him (heck I made a thread here asking why so many people hated that character), I still don't hate him or anything but really, there is only so much one can take watching the same damn character acting the same way every single time. I mean there are so many other more interesting characters who could have been used for that traitor storyline - Bayakuya, Shunsui, Kenpachi, Ukitake - but no, they had to use the little brat and put him up against Ichigo. That too Ichigo with a Bankai. I mean FFS!

for that matter they're barely using those characters in the anime itself. it's ALWAYS hitsu and gang. it was nice back with the arrancar arc first started, but now they really really need to start implementing the other captains for a change.

Well, if you watch the first movie "Memories of nobody" he gets the most screen time out of the other captains.

The reason I think he gets the most screen time compared to the other captains, is simple. If you look at rukia and renji, they were sent to the real world simply because of their familarity with it as they were there more then anyone else. Since Histugya was the first captain there (at least I think so, can't remember 100% for sure) he would be more familiar with the real world and know how to interact better then, lets say, a Byakuya who might get made fun of and start "scattering" people for disrespecting them, or Kenpachi who would just see someone fighting and say "hey, I wanna get in on that action" and slaughter someone because it's fun.

I aggree that I would like to see other captains, but logically, hes being used the same reason that Rukia and Renji are/were/is/will be. Simple familiarity. Just my opinion though, as I'm still a Bleach NEWBIE :sad

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that can't stand the little midget (I'm channeling Michael Eisner apparently). He's a good captain and very intelligent but he gets way too much screen time. He is just not a very compelling character. It kind of makes sense though, Hitsugaya is very popular in the character polls (defying all logic) and although I'm sure Ichigo would help any of the captains if it came down to it - he is probably closest personally to Hitsugaya due to his numerous appearances. Wouldn't mind seeing someone else in this spot though, just for the simple reason of maybe seeing another Bankai. Kyouraku would be interesting - but I suspect he wouldn't be a draw. Zaraki would be cool even though he has no sword releases, but I wouldn't mind seeing him and Ichigo fighting together or with each other - blowing sh&t up, getting things done - almost like a buddy cop movie. I would be very interested to see who finally deals with the "end guy" in the movie. Seems like Ichigo and Hitsugaya are getting similar billing, but if they find some way to have Hitsugaya defeat the most powerful guy I'll watch once and pretend it never happened, like Rocky 5 (or for that matter Star Trek 5). Kinda funny though how Matsumoto threw Kon with a note on his back for Ichigo. The guy is seemingly burdened with Soul Society's messes, even though his power and contributions are not entirely welcomed or appreciated.

Hitsugaya gets a lot of air time or whatever, but I still like him. Besides, none of the other captains would really work in the real world with Ichigo and Co. 3 captains went off to be evil or whatever, then look at the other ones. Tell me if any of these would do good in Hitsugaya's spot : Yamamoto, Soi Fon, Unohana, Byakuya, Komamura, Shunsui, Zaraki, Mayuri, and Ukitake. Story-wise, the following could NOT go: Yamamoto (head honcho), Soi Fon (leader of special forces or whatever it is), Mayuri (research guy), and possibly not Byakuya (head of clan) or Unohana (clean-up division). That would leave Ukitake (if not sick), Zaraki, Komamura, or Shunsui.

Although she may not be the closest person to Ichigo, I think she would be ok, plus she could even have special forces there with her. I'm mostly saying this because Soi Fong is one of my favorite characters and I'd like to see her with more screen time, but she's an awsome captain and a character.

I don't like the plot of the movie, and as more people said, this movie will focus on Hitsugaya - which is going to be boring. I agree, he does get a lot of screen time and its stupid. He is boring to watch and I hate having to hear him whine and act all tough. Its bad enough he was in the fillers like nearly every episode and now we have to watch the whole movie about him? I think I'll pass.

Yeah like other people said, use other characters, instead of Hitsugaya and gang. A big yawn here.

(The whining/acting tough thing is his personality, deal with it. There are far more annoying characters kubo has made but really I tolerate them all. I don't hate any of his characters so far).

Anyhow about the movie: to be quite honest, it is going to be a bit boring. For me it will be as said because this seems like another "Memories of a Nobody" vid where a "mysterious" enemy suddenly shows up and Ichigo and company get thrown into the mix.

Anyhow I'd have to agree with you on the filler stuff though, but I mean, who else are they gonna give screentime too when you have a filler about the prelude to the Winter War where Hitsugaya is deployed with several other Shinigami to the real world (which was supposed to be shorter in time and have less filler than it did already). Don't blame Kubo, blame the crappy production company that thinks they have to keep the series running even though the manga isn't going on. For gawds sake let it at least save face and turn it off. Then we wouldn't have problems with characters such as these getting too much screentime.

In transition with the manga however, he definately does not get the entire spotlight, (which is what I generally stick to for reasons above). Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing how much more they needlessly and uselessly extend the character background and possibly his layout entirely, of Hitsugaya, just for production and promotional purposes. It's actually kinda sad really =/... I was really hoping Bleach wouldn't buy into the whole advertisement thing via movies and maybe have just one and stop there. But I guess wishful thinking only goes so far - then reality smacks you in the face and when it does after all that anticipation, it hurts pretty bad ._.;;.

Apparently he is on a secret mission to beat some really old dude who he knew ages ago (HELLO, Hitsugaya is what, fifty years old? He's a BRAT damn it, he's GOT no ancient history), and the Captain-Commander wants to execute him for... running away? Or something like that.

Anyway, Ichigo refuses to let Toshiro go alone (and what does he owe Hitsugaya that made him decide to help? Ichigo only helps people he feels he owes something, it's been emphasized in the series from day one... especially from Chad-flashback day), and fights him... and uses bankai to fight against Toshiro.

If those move makers had any brains, they'd make Byakuya or someone really scary go there, because for god's sake, Toshiro should be on the ground just from Ichigo's reiatsu.

Someone save the anime world before it degenerates into regular American Child Cartoons like Mighty Mouse.

Hitsugaya deserts from Soul Society (or everyone thinks he did, and without any real investigation (they pretty much saw evidence that points to Hitsugaya and automatically assumed it was true) they sentence him to death).

Ichigo tries to help Toshiro (for unknown reasons, but let's skip that part since the movie people forgot that Ichigo is cause-driven), but Ice-kiddo fights him and tells him to stand down.

Now Ichigo, instead of smashing Toshiro's puny head like he should be able to, uses bankai to fight him.

I'm seriously going all WTF on this movie.

Lol so true. Sealed Hitsu vs Bankai Ichigo is a joke; Ichigo could easily do an Aizen and take him out in one shot, but the anime creators just had to dumb down Ichigos strength. Komamura, Soifon, Mayuri, heck even Byakuya would make good replacements for Hits. Someone could easily make scenarios where those captains are wanted just like Hits is in the movie. Byakuya would make an especially interesting choice; imagine that the entire Kuchiki clan find out he's done things that are against SS's laws, and proceed to expel him and Rukia from the clan and try to hunt him down.

Hmm, I haven't seen the OP for ep. 151 so I'm not sure how it looks (still waiting for the freaking sub...) but I will still watch the movie, at least once. I <3 Bleach so I have to at least check it out before I judge it... even if it is Hitsugaya again. I'm sure other Captains/characters will get some screen time for sure. I do have to aggree though that I wish they would focus around someone else like Soi Fong or something.

The thought of hitsugaya being on par with bankai ichigo is quite possibly the dumbest idea the filler writers ever had.

Not to mention now that puts hitsugaya above byaukya and zaraki in strength.

An answer to all the anti-Hitsu people out there:

the reason why hitsu is in the movie is because of his popularity. He was ranked as the second most popular character in the Shonen jump voting things, second to Ichigo. While he might not be as popular in America, hes definitely popular in Japan. If you were the animators and you wanted the way to maximize profit, then you would naturally go with the most popular character. Thats how the entertainment business works, satisfy the most people.

However, I would much rather have a movie about a minor character so they could be better developed. We dont even kno what half of the VC's releses do.

First the plot: dear another let execute our captain plot because he was the only one that wasnt there in the meeting.

Secondly: since when is Hitsaguya the best captain in the whole gotei ?. Freezing Ichigo ?? with Shikai ?. If it was so then why didnt they show him fighting with Yammato at least ??.

Who ever said Hitsugaya was the best captain? we dont even know how ichigo was frozen. why would Hitsugaya be fighting with Yamamoto, the only evidence that he is fighting is the fire in the opening.

Thirdly: why did the SS even move that King Soul Seal from its place? Absurd to do it in a time when you can be attacked: I would simply have let it rest where it was. Or improve the security at the place it was seal. But well without it no plot. sigh.
Well the animation are looking quite good but I would have prefered something around the other captains like Ukitake or even form the Captain Mom of the 4 th Division.

Perhaps this movie is simply to show that Hitsaguya learnt to play as Teamplayer and began to believe in his subordinates in the end.
Perhaps I would have a better opinion if I could see the whole movie and no some little trailer.

The most I'd expect from him is a small 5 minute cut scene with the villian running away. But that would be just dandy for me.

Shunsui actually losing would be a sight for blind eyes. Really I'm only worried he won't be reduced into a few-second action sequence like Ukitake. Or worse 'implied action' as the camera turns to the background, then the mask, followed by Shunsui drop to the ground.

Firstly, Yamamoto knows the location of the King's Seal. No one else does. By Shonen law, no one else knows, hence the villain must create a new one in order to make the protagonist fight him (I want to save the world! And I want to destroy the world! Now everyone laugh).

And if the King's Seal location is hidden from anyone beside the Commander of the Gotei 13, then it won't have any security. Because if it has security, it can be found. And since Aizen, Mr. Genius Who Knows Everything (tm), couldn't locate it and had to create another, then Masked Random Guy has no way of knowing.

Especially since the only way he could learn of its location is through a Library in Soul Society, and guess what? There is no mention of it there, since the location of the King's Seal is passed down orally from on Captain-Commander to the next.

As for taming Hollow powers... when have the Vaizards or Aizen ever "tame" any Hollow powers? Vaizards defeated their own inner Hollows in an inner fight through instinct and will power, and when they subdued them, there's nothing to know about it. It's like getting bankai. Once you have it, you've got it, story ends.

As far as Aizen goes... he didn't tame any Hollow just yet.

And show me proof this information is banned from Soul Society, too.

There is a library in Soul Society, but there is no mention of the King's Key there, because its location is passed down orally from one Captain-Commander to the other.

Or in simpler words, only Yamamoto knows.

And even though the techniques are forbidden, they should still be listed in the library, so it can be access.

yes yes 100% agree with you. I loved this version of the spoiler opening. It at least showed that everyone gets involved in the fight. Even if the screen time for them is only a few minutes, it's better than none.

I don't think the movie takes place after HM...after all the HM arc hasn't ended yet. Plus I don't see Ichigo going Vizard in any screens so far. I place the movie at the same time as Orihime is kidnapped in the anime; assume that the arrancars never came and Orihime's still in the real world, but Chad, IShida both have their new power-ups. Zangetsu appearing in the movie is damn awesome, but it doesn't fit in the canon. Shirosaki was supposed to have swallowed Zangetsu completely and gained complete dominance over his powers. Perhaps that will explain why Ichigo doesn't go Vizard.

But Ishida, has his new bow. We all saw that Urahara personally got Ishida to help Ichigo, thus he didn't do anything b/t the period with his father and HM. Thus possibly the story could have happen after HM arc.

Still it doesn't really matter if it came after this are or that arc, it's just a movie.

My theory is that his friend has an ice zanpakuto that has an ice dragon as its spirit thats similar Hyourinmaru, so that most people think it was Hitsu who stole the seal but it was actually his friend.

Dattebayo has subbed the first movie, but they only sub the DvD version since they want the best possible quality to do it right so don't expect a subbed version of the new movie before spring sometime.

Where did information of Hisagi's release come from?

Well here's the explanation anyway..
For Kaien's shikai, Kubo already had the designs and planned on putting it in the manga story some 6 months later. He loved Kaien, he had kaien already designed his character(when he died it already had a name and release phrase).

The same with Rukia's shikai, Kubo already had the design for it, it was in a very early Bleach game first then the manga. Almost two years ago there was an uproar about that as well.

Shuuhei can be made up on the spot like Iba, those characters dont have too much meaning. A very simple sword with a simple ability. Iba's didn't even have an ability.

Kubo DID help in the movie, Shuuhei's release might just be his gift.

Dattebayo tends to be pretty quick with their subs, probably a day or two after they get their raw version.

Axxo does dvd rips. Not cams. Cams are 100% illegal. Dvdrips are more in a grey area as you are allowed to make a dvd rip but not really allowed to share them or make profit with them...this is getting off topic.

Well this was also seen with Memories of Nobody. It was released, i think last year, camera versions were seen popping up around the beginning of the new year, and the sub didn't come out until this fall? So I'd say camera versions should start coming around in a few weeks/months.

Its a book all about the movie! It has articles on the storyline and band and merchandise and even has interviews with the voice actors of ichigo and hitsugaya! Hitsu is played by a women btw :p
Shame its in japanese.... hahaha!

A lot of anime boys are usually played by female seiyus because there are very few actual kid seiyus and the guy seiyus cant hit the high pitches that girl seiyus can. but still, its funny considering that hitsus voice sounds low.

The seiyuu for hitsu is Paku Romi. She was also the voice of Ed Elric in FMA.

It's been a while since I've been on the boards, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm in Japan and I will be checking out the Bleach Movie sometime this week. I'll report back with what I know if no one minds spoilers. It's going to be tough because my japanese is limited and there are no subs obviously, but it'll be better than the shitty cam version I had to sit through for Memories of Nobody.

From my [limited] understanding of Japanese, here's what I managed to get out of the trailers that's not yet on wikipedia. It could quite possibly be wrong.

The person that was once Hitsugaya's rival is framing Hitsugaya (probably obvious). He seems to possess a zanpakutou that is very similar to Hitsugaya's. Throughout the trailer, the narrator mentioned several times something about "1 more Hyourinmaru", and it is displayed in under the movie titles in the screens I saw.

Also, two of the enemies are twin girls, who have the abilities of fire and lightning.

I saw the DiamondDust Rebellion last week. I'm going to give a quick synopsis of what I remember. Keep in mind that my Japanese is limited so I can only give you an idea of what happened based on what I saw and the little I understood. Also, since I'm doing this from memory, forgive me if parts are fuzzy or if I get some stuff wrong/out of order. You'll get the general gist of the movie and it will hopefully hold you over til a cam rip gets out there. I'll give my opinion of the movie after the recap.
The movie opens in soul society with a grand procession. The Kings Seal is being transported though Soul Society in a very elaborate carrier and the 10th squad is assigned to guard the procession. Being that it is such an important mission, Hitsugaya and Matsumoto are both present. Then out of nowhere, two arrancar chicks attack the procession. Their names are In (Pronounced "Een") and Yan ("Yawn"). In is Blue and controls the power of electricity with her zapakutou and Yan is red and can conrtol fire with hers. Anyway, these two are basically there to cause a distraction so their boss, Kusaka Soujiro can attack the main carrier to steal the Kings Seal. At first glance, he appears to be a Vaizard, since he looks to be wearing a Shinigami uniform but sporting a hollow mask. (More on him later.) Kusaka leaps on top of the Carrier and takes the seal, so Hitsugaya flies up to stop him. When he gets to the top, Hitsu is stabbed in the gut... by another Hyorinmaru! (Hitsu can tell this by the Diamond hilt from the sword. This is unseen to the rest of the Shinigami on the scene.) As Hitsu tries to fight Kusaka, In and Yan beat up on the 10th squad. They basically beat the crap out of everyone, and once Kusaka has the King's Seal, he retreats. Bleeding and defeated, Hitsugaya can't let the King's Seal go without a fight. Matsumoto begs him to retreat, but he disappears with Kusaka and his women.
...Opening credits roll...
Cut to Ichigo on patrol walking through the forest. He comes across an invisible barrier, which he manages to slice open with a little help from Zangetsu. He basically rips open a fabric of the real world and ends up in the Soul Society. On the other side is the battle field and carnage we left earlier. Shinigami are strewn accross the field, beaten and bloody. Then, ninjas from the 2nd squad Secret Mobile Corps begin to appear around Ichigo. They are immense in number. They all begin advancing on Ichigo, who begs with them that he's one of the good guys, a substitute shinigami, but they won't listen. Soi Fong appears just in time to call off the dogs and she basically tells Ichigo that it's none of his business what's happened there. She performs a kidou chant and casts Ichigo out of the soul society and back into the forest. Cast out, Ichigo is left to wonder what happened. Then, Ishida appears and says that he noticed a strong disturbance of Reiatsu so he went to the forest to check it out. As the two are about to leave, they come across an unconscious Histugaya
Back in Soul Society, General Yamamoto and the other captains are meeting to discuss what happened. Obviously, Hitsugaya made a very grievous error and they need to discuss how to handle the situation. Matsumoto is on hand to explain what happened, and while they listen to her, they ultimately decide that Hitsugaya is either dead or he's a suspect of treason since he hasn't returned to the Soul Society. As a result, Matsumoto and the entire 10th squad are forced to hand in their Zanpakutou until they can find and EXECUTE Hitsugaya for treason.
Cut to a dream sequence... we see a young Hitsugaya in Shinigami academy uniform in what looks to be one of his first classes. He's practice sword fighting with a young Kusaka Soujiro who tells him that he's a great fighter, but he's just as good. They fight, laugh, etc, and Kusaka says they'll be friends forever... (of course you know that means trouble.) Dream sequence ends and Hitsu wakes up in Ichigo's bed.
Ichigo tells Hitsu where he found him and what happened with Soi Fong. Of course Ichigo wants to know what happened, but Hitsu won't spill the beans. He tries to leave but is still too wounded to do so at the moment.
After this part it gets fuzzy for me so I'm just going to touch on the major highlights. These aren't necessarily in the exact order they happened in the movie, but I'll keep it as contiguous as possible.
- Renji and Rukia check on Matsumoto. They both agree that Hitsugaya is not capable of treason. They decide that they'll help Matsumoto get to the bottom of what's going on. Ikkaku and Yumichika agree to help also. (Gee, big surprise.) Later, Nanao, Captian Kyouraku, and Captain Ukitake join in on the helping, too.
- Another Hitsu Dream Sequence: Hitsugaya and Kusaka both developed the same power at the same time, the power to control ice. Both went to speak to their Sword and the spirit of Hyorinmaru was with both of them. I'm not sure what exactly the deal was, but I gathered that only one shinigami could wield a certain power at once. The Central 46 had a problem with the two of them having the same power. They kept calling for Hitsugaya to duel with Kusaka, and neither of them wanted to because of their friendship. Eventually, the power of Hyorinmaru proved irresistable to Kusaka and he charged Hitsugaya. Guards stepped in and Killed Kusaka... or so they thought. It gets a little cloudy from here because I can't tell exactly what went on with Kusaka, either he died or didn't... but either way he ended up in Hueco Mundo. That's where he hooked up with In and Yan, and it appears he's a Vaizard because he was a shinigami but he uses a Hollow mask.
- Hitsu wakes up again and leaves Ichigo's house. He folds up his captain's robe and leaves it on Ichigo's desk. He then dons the burlap cowl that you've all seen in the previews. Ichigo realizes he's gone and goes after him. He tells Hitsugaya to come back because his wounds haven't healed. Hitsugaya refuses. Ichigo then tries to fight Hitsu to get him to stay. Hitsu guards but doesn't fight back until In and Yan appear and attack Ichigo. Hitsu attacks Ichigo so In and Yan will sort of trust him, or at least hold off on attacking him so he can find Kusaka.
- Captain Kyouraku is in the Seireitei library where he finds out about Kusaka and the events that led to his (supposed) death. Later, we find that Kusaka has invaded the Seireitei and Kyouraku is there to meet him. They fight, and Kusaka stabs Kyouraku, injuring him badly. Captain Unohana tends to him and they determine that he was stabbed with Hyorinmaru, further implicating Hitsugaya.
- I know, I know, I haven't mentioned Chad, Orihime, or any of the other Gang. Well they're not in the movie much. They make more cameo appearances than anything. There is a scene where Ichigo and Rukia discuss what's happening at Urahara's shop, and the gang is all there. Outside of that, Chad and Ishida make brief appearances in a fight towards the end.
- Some of the Vice Captains are sent by Sasakibe (1st Div Vice Cap.) to go after the renegade Hitsu after the attack on Captain Kyouraku. This includes Kira Izuru and Hisagi Shuuhei. Their group of assembled Shinigami track down Hitsu and find him. I'm a little behind on the episodes (I'm at 132) so I don't know if this has been seen yet, but to my knowledge, this is the first time we see HISAGI SHUUHEI'S SHIKAI! This was new to me and it was pretty cool. I can't tell you the name, but he jumps into the air and floats and his Zanpakutou becomes solid javelin-like poles that he hurls at Hitsu. He can produce multiple poles at random. One of them manages to impale him, but Hitsu removes it and goes Bankai on them, narrowly escaping.
-Ichigo and Rukia are trying to track down Hitsu when In and Yan appear with Kusaka. Words are exchanged and Rukia goes Shikai to take on In and Yan, while Ichigo takes on Kusaka. Kusaka prevails temporarily and freezes Ichigo with Hyorinmaru. Ichigo wakes up in the Zangetsu Zone and has a conversation with him. Zangetsu has him remember back to the day when his mother died. Ichigo remembers how he would go to the same spot everyday after her death to try and reason with what happened. Young Yuzu and Karin come to get Ichigo with Isshin and they share a family moment. Apparently Ichigo would run away to go back to the river and wouldn't tell them where he would go. Zangetsu helps Ichigo realize what Hitsu is trying to do: Come to grips with letting a friend die. At this moment Ichigo realizes that Hitsu isn't bad, he just wants to finish the fight with Kusaka in his own way. Ichigo breaks out of the ice in Bankai mode and helps Rukia fend off In and Yan. Kusaka is off to Soul Society and Ichigo and Rukia chase after him.
-Hitsu has escaped to Soul Society, and the scene is eerily familiar to where Rukia was about to be executed. It almost looks like the same precipice where Ichigo and Byakuya had their first fight. Anyway, Hitsu is chasing after Kusaka when General Yamamoto and all of the Captains show up. They look like they're about to take Hitsu out, when Nanao and Captain Kyouraku appear just in time to say that Hitsu wasn't the one who attacked him. Everyone appears to believe him when Kusaka shows up with In and Yan. He has the Kings seal and All the captains, just what he wants. Because, guess what, he wants to destroy Soul Society because of what was done to him! (A wounded villian that wants to destroy soul society? Can anyone say Bounto?) Finally we see what the big deal with the King's Seal was all about... Kusaka slices it with Hyourinmaru and merges with it! Kusaka becomes this huge big ice dragon Monster thing, a darker blue Hyourinmaru with arms and legs. He casts this huge dark orb over the seireitei that begins to tear everything apart. In and Yan are transformed into these HUGE sentinel thingys that shoot fire and electricity, just more of it than their normal forms. This sets up the huge fight at the end. There's a nice part in here somewhere where Hitsugaya is restored back to captain, and puts his robe back on.
-Captain Zaraki is of course the first to rush into action, attacking the dragon monster directly. He gives a good go at it but gets swatted down. All the captains get in on the action, we see ripped General Yamamoto get in the fight, Byakuya uses Senbonzakura Kageyoshi to help take out one of the sentinels, Soi Fong and Yoruichi team up and both use the death butterfly touch to make one of the sentinels explode. Ikkaku goes Bankai in the fight too. There was a lot going on, but that was most of the major cool stuff. Yes, Kenpachi comes back and kicks ass at the end, so he didn't go down like a B!+ch.
-The final part of the fight comes down to Ichigo and Hitsugaya. Ichigo goes vaizard/hollow and uses the black getsuga tenshou headshot to weaken kusaka. Hitsu is in Bankai and has Hyrourinmaru attack the other Hyourinmaru. Finally, Hitsu is able to pierce the ice armor of the dragon monster and get Kusaka out of the dragon suit. He falls to the ground. Kusaka, near death, is back in regular shinigami form.
-Hitsu has his back turned and Ichigo comes up to him to tell him that he has to finish the fight to bring closure to the past. Hitsugaya understands and tells Kusaka to put up his guard. Kusaka smiles, and prepares to fight Hitsu. Hitsu comes in, slashes him, and Kusaka thanks him for being his friend. He then begins to dissipate and turn into dust... that sparkles like diamonds. (That's where the name of the movie came from!)
-Last scene was very cool, cause I could almost understand it word for word:
Ichigo: Toshiro, you fought well today, gave everyone quite a scare, etc.
Hitsu: Damn it Ichigo, I told you to call me Captain Hitsugaya! (Turns away with a small grimace)

Bonus scene at the end: Hitsu is at Kusaka's grave with Matsumoto. He turns away and quietly says:
Hitsu: Matsumoto...
Matsu: Hmm?
Hitsu: Thanks for all your help and believing in me.
Matsu: (Goes all super-kawaii) CAPTAIN!! YOU'RE WELCOME, LET'S GO SHOPPING IN THE REAL WORLD, ETC. (Something like that, i couldn't understand it all but you get the idea)
Review:
As a Bleach fan, the movie was entertaining as a whole. Again, it stood alone outside of the Anime Timeline because Orihime was in the real world, etc. I was disappointed with the artwork. Most of the awesome scenes you've scene in previews or in screen caps are the better drawn scenes in the whole movie. As you all know, we can tell that especially in the filler arcs in the TV series, the art suffers and you can tell its shopped out to Korea and Hong Kong. This happened especially when the last movie was being made, because all the main animators were on the first movie. The art in the first movie was well done and awesome. I was expecting the same thing for this movie, but no such luck. DR Movie and a bunch of Korean guys were credited at the end. This movie felt rushed, artistically and storyline wise. When Ichigo first appears he looks like crap. (Badly drawn.) It felt like this movie was rushed based upon the financial success of the last movie. The final fight should have had some CG, instead it just looked like it would look on TV in a filler ep. Storywise, it felt like Kusaka was a mesh of Kariya f
