HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN!?!?!?

I Realize that the price of most of the items in the Vplaza went up by 10% of the Original Price.
example : 700 x 10% = 7000 vbux :o

alright, fine, no problem, but this is what i dont understand,
the bank interest rate drop by 6.90 %... :o :o :o :o

HOW CAN THIS BE?? How are we to make money, how can we buy these thing in the plaza if our money wont genereate for soooooooooooooooooooooo long...come on people think this over, fine about the price but how can u but dont the bank interest rate by sooooooooooooo much..

if im a newbie (leecher) and i start out with 250 vbux
my first two days i can only recieve .25 CENTS?????
when would that person be able to buy anything on cb?

so i i want to jus put my name in Italic which cost 2500 i would have to wait be on cb 4612 days (apx 12 years 6 months) before i can buy one item??? :o

It's an accumulated interested. Besides, you get more points by doing stuff around the forums and what not which allows for you to get more money in the bank and then eventually getting more interest. The system is fine :p

Because interest previously was stupidly high, and anyone could buy anything without even trying, especially if they were in a division, which were all filthily rich. Some were getting around 200,000 points every two days. For comparison, the most expensive item in VBPlaza was 10,000. This way, people actually have to work to be able to purchase something from VBPlaza.

I'm sorry if you're upset, but the whole point of VBPlaza is that you work to get the privelage of being able to purchase things from it, not that you can simply get whatever you want whenever you want.

If you join a division and participate in contests, and help your division, your captain will be happy to buy things for you, I'm sure. Captains still have easily enough money to buy anything they like.

If interest had not been set so high at the start, this wouldn't have happened, but it was, and now we have to do something about it. The situation should stabilise within a matter of months.

Buying rep was a fair 7,777 points yesterday, but a second after interest was paid, it SOARED to an ungodly amount of over 70,000 points!!!

WTH is going on? Because if this is the economy then we need some serious help.

And to make matters worse, the interest rate is down to .10% from over 7%.

If the interest rates plummet, shouldn't prices plummet because we are making less money?

This is all very confusing and if an admin or mod who knows what's up could help, I think we would all be very grateful. :)

in the document there are 2306 rows to reach a figur of 2505.66 bux,seein that interest is applied on every 2 days (48 hours) i simple multiple 2306 by 2 = 4612 then div by 365 (days in a year)... u got to remember the interest rate is 0.10 not 1.001 as u have it

Sorry, but anyone who remembers the old system of the division shop which was done manually by an admin knows that that worked a lot better, and that with that in place, there was actually a point in trying in contests - because the only way you could change your username (or do whatever else) was to work hard and help in contests, then ask your captain politely if they could spend some of the communal division points to change their username for them.

Since the VBPlaza system, there's no longer been any point in community spirit in divisions - there's no point in trying in contests, because if you wanted to buy anything, you could do so yourself, with the assurance that you would get it back in interest within a few days.

In addition to that, we no longer had any prizes to give out that were worth having - what use is 50,000 points to a division that already has 1,500,000? What use are any number of points to a division that already has 1,500,000?

With the prices as high as this, the hope is that all the people and divisions that have accumulated ridiculous numbers of points will be drained of them more quickly, and that, if they are, we can go back to more reasonable prices and keep the same interest rates.

i understeand wat your sayin here...but this make it VERY hard to again any money wat so ever, another has is u post u get points, yes we do contest sell stuff to make money, but i dont have a problem with the price hyke per say but the interest is wat the problem...if u say 7 % is high,fine, but carryin it down to 0.10 , then is best u dont apply interest then...

i agree with you on the teamwork with the div, that wat there main purpose is there for, wat happenes to the people that arnt in a div..
we have wat, 13th divs (limit of 20 each i think[260 memebers]) nd there the quincey's, arrancars, and vaizards....would everyone be able fairly to buy anythin on cb?

People that aren't in a division can join one :). If they're really determined to go it alone, they can feel free, but it's going to be harder for them to buy things. They can always sell things around the forum, do favours for people, help out the mods and admins with stuff that needs doing etc. to make points for themselves. But again, I'll remind you that with the old system, people who weren't in a division couldn't buy anything, and nobody complained then.

3 or 4% is a generous amount for banks, a lot of them are like...2.5%ish.

Logically speaking, .1 every two days would add up (182 times a year) to 1.82%...EXCEPT that interest is also taken on interest.

The proper calculation is FV = PV(1+i)^n.

FV = future value, PV = present value, n = time, i = rate.

Pluggin in easy numbers (1000 for present value), we get future = 1000(1+.001)^182

After solving through, we get future value equal to 1000(1.19950511) or approximately 1,200 virtual dollars.

That's almost 20%.

So if you think it's too low, think about how much money you'd have in the real world if that was an actual rate.

The trick is, the more you add, the more interest you get.

Therefore, this system encourages participation, so I don't see anything wrong with it.

There wasn't a reason for change, other than with this system, the admins have to do less work. Not that that's a bad thing, but the old system worked better than the new system, thus enter the new new system, which emulates the old system using VBPlaza, but still requires the admins to do less work :).

The vast majority of members fall into the categories of

1. People who used to be active but no longer visit
2. People who visit perhaps once every month or two months, and therefore cannot be considered 'active'
3. People who joined, posted a couple of times, then left
4. Spambots & advertisers

None of these people would care about buying things from VBPlaza. I'd say that CB has a maximum of probably...300 members that visit regularly. The divisions can accomodate about 250, and the remainder probably don't mind very much about buying things, or have decided not to join divisions for their own reasons.

Besides, pretty much all the divisions have vacancies. If all the divisions fill up to bursting point, we can always create new ones using character classes from Bleach.

Seriously, since I only do pure maths - not economics, so I wouldn't know which system is right, but essentially it amounts to the same thing - you're not going to be able to buy anything by waiting for the interest to build up - you have to take an active part in activities, and really work to get the points to buy privelages for yourself.

The lowering of interest rate was strongly accepted by all Division Captains because it would be a great pillar of support towards activity in the Gotei 13. Plus, points actually have more of a meaning now than they did before.

Most of the current divisions are filled with people who are either incompetent or inactive, and will be forced to participate at a higher standard or be easily removed in favor of someone else.

If you look at the prices of the things in the VBplaza, most of the items are in the lower thousands. Considering that winning a contest will net probably 50,000points, that leaves everyone with a good 3,000+.

Also, now, the items being sold in the marketplace by people will actually be worth something, which will also in turn increase the overall quality of works being sold and such.

The only items that are expensive to a point of unattainbility are the items that basically *cheats* you through the system, such as buying rep and buying post count.

However, what I suggest that needs to be changed is, the starting points that everyone gets. 250 is too low IMO, and it should be changed to 1,500.

@ Peoplez - when you say 'think of the people', who else do you suppose the admins think of when they make a decision xD? It's not like lowering interest on CB and raising prices is something we've maliciously done because we enjoy seeing you guys suffer. We just want to make contests more fun :). Pretty much all of the smods/admins have been in a position of responsibility for over a year now, and we have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn't, so trust us for now, please?

Damn, I'm screwed on the points. I just made an account this month, and all I have is 260 something. I doubt there will be, but is there any compensation to users who never got much past 250? Anyways, I think this new system will work great. As I'll be trying to get into a division later in the year. That was my view as well . The drop is ter far, but i have to say i understand where the admins coming from. Sorry, but anyone who remembers the old system of the division shop which was done manually by an admin knows that that worked a lot better, and that with that in place, there was actually a point in trying in contests - because the only way you could change your username (or do whatever else) was to work hard and help in contests

actually, before vplaza if you weren't in a div, you didn't even have the option to do these things.

back in the day, you had to ask your div captain to buy things from the admins. in order to get the large amount of points to purchase goodies, your div had to win contests. because div members were the ones who were participating in contests, they were able to recieve these types of things for being active and working as a team. this was probably the original intent for being able to get things like name changes, font color changes, larger avi sizes, etc. but i'm not an admin so i don't actually know the real purpose they started it.

I have found a simple resolution to this problem:

If you raise prices in VbPlaza, then lowering the interest rates is the last thing you do, it will just make people not use it and it will become dead. I personally need money for a color change for my username and a new user title cus it doesn't match my avatar and looks stupid and random, I am in a Div but it takes forever to earn that much money for all those things! Seriously this takes all the fun out of the VbBux system and it's like it has turned into a ruthless bank corporation, where is the love???

The prices are reflective of how rich the divisions are. Also, you're buying luxuries, not essentials.


Next point.. the points won in contests NOT held by admin are already someone elses, and last i looked most of them where only 3000-5000 because it was personal funds...

As I said, before this system, it was only people in divisions who could get these benefits anyway, and nobody complained then. It's the benefit for participating in forum activities that you get the privelages of things like bold usernames. Before, people could simply be as lazy as they liked, and reap the benefits.

If they refuse, feel free to report them - they should shell out points to help their division members, since the points you win in contests are the division's points - not the captain's points.

Sandy already stated in this thread that the starting amount for new registered members has been changed to 5,000.

We probably should have announced these changes properly since some members are still unaware of them :/

I too 100 and Added 1% in Exel took the answer and repeated the +1% for 182 rows (or 1 year) subtracted the end result from the beginning and divided it by 100 to get that...
