Was wondering where this word/definition came from?
Google searching it just links to a hundred Bleach message boards usually arguing if this event is/is not plotkai

The closest thing I can find is an old computer shorthand (used to abort a faulty program)

Is this some japanese term or just something Bleach fans made up? (as I dont see it for any other manga)

Shi-kai
Ban-kai

Plot-kai is something bleach fans created to explain how a character (such as ichigo) can never die no matter what occurs, for sake of plot.

It's called several things "Plotkai" is uses usually in reference to events in Bleach. It can also be called "Plot-no-Jutsu" (in reference to Naruto) Plot Armor Character shield or Plot Protection.
Basicly its a way of pointing out that the reason for a characters survival from a situation that should have killed them or a victory over a clearly superior opponent is due more to the character's relevance to the plot than ability.
