What's to read in CB?


So I was thinking we should have a guide to threads that deserve to be read depending on your reason (Entertainment, Learning, discussion...)
This issue's guide is about what you should read for entertainment other than browsing randomness; so I've selected the following three threads:

POTM Winner


As everyone will probably know by now, we in The Shutter Squad, have just had our second Picture Of The Month contest. The topic for this one was 'Abstract/Emotional' and as you have seen; we had an excellent turnout of both pictures and quality.
The winning image in the end was entered from our lovely leixela, of the broken glass and the crushed spring.

I got in touch with her to ask her a few questions about the image.

M-50: 'Firstly, congratulations on winning.'
leixela: 'Thank you.'
M-50: 'So where did you get the idea to take that picture from?'
leixela: 'It just came to me as I was sitting in the car talking to the driver. The dark background constrasted with the glass, and I realized after taking several shots, I needed more than the glass, so moved to different locations until I found final product. Ideas like that just come to me spontaneously. I take life as it comes, and the photos the same way.'
M-50: 'Wow, so how many pictures did you have to take before you found the right one?'
leixela: 'Probably about 8 or 9. Some didn't focus right in the light; others didn't seem to flow across the photo like the final product did. I knew by the 5th shot what I was looking for exactly, just had to get it to work. The final photo was taken a mere half inch from the glass itself.'
M-50: 'So it was like an elimination process that you took once you knew what you were looking for?'
leixela: 'Yeah. Something like that. When looking at something so small, every small difference is big.'
M-50: 'Would you mind showing the readers some of the previous pictures you took in order to get the perfect shot?'
leixela: 'Sure here they are.

M-50: 'So can you tell me more about the image itself?'
leixela: 'Yeah sure, basically the picture was in the car of a good friend of mine. Her windshield had been shattered, and she hadn't yet cleaned up all the glass out of the car. Amongst the glass, broken pieces of various items lay, including a crushed spring.
This friend is a close friend of mine, but we've had our hard times, including one guy who tore us apart for awhile... but it was my fault, and she forgave me.
It just amazes me how life can shatter like the window, and you stand there looking at what's happened, unable to pick up all the pieces... when you find those little things you didn't even know were affected, lost, or crushed under the weight of the lies or pain you caused.
Like the broken glass, my life lay shattered, but the while the window is made new, the shattered pieces of everything that had happened remain.
The photo stands for the regrets in my life. But it also represents a life rebuilt, though never fully healed.'

Naruto Mania is as always one hot spot. People seem to be coming and going at every hour, exploring and discussing a plethora of topics. Here are some of the things that have been going on this month


Behind on the Donations Target

Naruto Mania is a little short on this month’s donation target:
We are unfortunately $400 short on our donations target for this month. Especially considering I've upgraded the forums server just last week and our expenses have grown I hope that you can all contribute a little and help keep this website up.

The new server “has more ram and a better CPU,” which is great for NM and all its users. So, if you’ve ever considered donating but keep putting it off or if you haven’t donated in a while, now is a great time to donate!

New Skin

A new skin, called “Heat of Soul,” was added to NM this month! This brings the skin total up to eight. The skin is a sweet mix of blue and gray—it’s hawt! The skin was the brainchild of Kakashi, who choose the colors, and was created by the very talented Tammy.

Fetured Debate of the Month: Moral Evaluation

ChocolateThunder put forth this intriguing debate about morals:

Untitled

She sat staring out the window, watching the rain drops beat against the glass. Dusty curtains flapped back as the slight crack in the window allowed wind to creep in. She was curled up on the dull brown sofa, squeezing a small black stuffed animal in the shape of a puppy. Below her lied shattered glass littered across the scratched wooden floor. She averted her eyes away from the broken pitcher, plates, glasses, and beer bottles and tried her hardest to focus on the rain. Tip, tap, tip, tap.
“Why do you do this to me,” her father angrily shouted. She shrugged, refusing to look him in the eye, focusing on the clouded window.
“You enjoy seeing me angry don’t you, everything I do for you, you don’t appreciate nothing.” She shrugged again, focusing on the rain drops.
“Say something,” he yelled. The storm raged louder.
“I’m sorry,” she muttered.
“You never sorry girl, you do this all the time, look at this mess! What’s wrong with you? Are you messed up in the head?”
She shrugged as she lazily eyed him. “I work non stop, feed you, take care of you, and look at this mess, look at this damn house. I can’t take this anymore, I can’t take you.”
“I won’t do it again,” she dryly replied.
Her drunken father noisily stomped on the broken dishes and crashed onto his bed, passing out into a loud slumber. After a few hours of staring out the window, she softly slid off the couch and gathered the broom. Quietly, she swept up the broken glass scattered across the floor and disposed of it. Tip, tap, and then the rain stopped.
The next morning her father clumsily entered the kitchen as she finished making breakfast. She handed him a plastic plate.
“I’m sorry for breaking the dishes,” he mumbled.

RPG: Marvel Alliance

Marvel Alliance is a new rpg started by Kibz.
This Role Play takes place in the current time of the Marvel universe. In the begining the plot will pretty much be the Marvel Alliance, Dr. Doom is making a villain alliance to take down the hero's.


This cool and creative rpg allows players to be either villains or heroes with powers from the marvel universe. Started last month, this rpg is still new and has a lot of room to grow. So, if you love rpging and marvel, you should check out this rpg.

Recently, I had the opportunity to interview on NM newer grfxers—Silent Sneeze. He’s a modest artist, but one look at his work shows that he’s got skills.

NMNL: What’s your RL name?Silent Sneeze: Dominic

NMNL: What’s the story behind using “SilentSneeze” as a username?
Silent Sneeze: I’d like to say there’s a hidden meaning behind it or it has any kind of significance but it’s just a random name I chose to sign up with. I’m hopeless at thinking of interesting usernames so that’ll have to do, sorry.

NMNL: What brought you to Nm?
Silent Sneeze: I think I was just browsing t’internet looking at a few manga sites and happened to stumble across it; I lurked for a bit and then decided to sign up. I only really started reading and watching manga/anime fairly recently so I just joined here to have somewhere to chat about it. Obviously, the graphics section was interesting to me too as there was so much great work in it, so I ended up looking at that section more than the rest of the forum :/

NMNL: How long have you been a member of NM?Silent Sneeze: Just a couple of months, since March.

NMNL: Was it hard establishing yourself as a regular in the graphics area?Silent Sneeze: I think, when you first post in the graphics section, you have to be prepared for people telling you straight what they think about your work, some might be scared off by that or take offence but I wanted to know what was wrong and how to improve so I stuck around.



I still don’t think I’m a regular in the section, I post my work quite frequently, I suppose, and try to comment on others work but I still think I’m new there really, or at least unknown as I don’t post in the spam section which is where all the real activity is. It’s so friggin random in that section though and everyone just takes the piss out of one another. I don’t post out of fear of being ripped apart like some I’ve seen before me, lol. For me it’d be like walking up to a group of friends who were having a laugh and just joining in even though you ain’t got a clue who they are, maybe once I know people a bit better and vice versa I’ll be posting there too.

NMNL: Do you think you have a different perspective or bring something new as a newer member of NM?
Silent Sneeze: My perspective on things is bound to be different just because every ones is anyway but also because I’m still very much learning about graphics and the whole area. So, my technical viewpoint on things is pretty much non-existent and I just go with what I like where as others might be able to pinpoint specific things in a tag or piece of work and tell them what to change. I’d like to think I’m adding a bit to the section as a newer member as my work’s already changed quite a lot since I first posted it here [and] hopefully people have seen that change.

NMNL: What do you think of the other regulars in NM’s graphics area?
Silent Sneeze: They’re hilarious for the most part, and annoyingly good at making tags and other arty things. They don’t seem to take kindly to people coming in thinking they’re the dogs’ bollocks without being able to back it up, and even then you’ll probably get abuse if you act like a tool. If you just go in there with a chilled attitude, ready to be called a fag or something similar, then you’re set.

NMNL: Do you ever partake in the graphics battle section?
Silent Sneeze: Not really, I’ve entered the last couple SOTWs but I wouldn’t bother entering a head to head battle as I’d just get raped, I’m still way behind most GFXers on the site so it’d be daft to challenge anyone to a battle lol.

NMNL: Do you participate in any other graphic forums?
Silent Sneeze: Again no, I only really started using Photoshop about a year ago while I was on a football forum just messing about with a few things but there wasn’t really anyone else on there that did graphics seriously. So, while I still did bits and pieces and got more comfortable using PS, I never got any feedback or inspiration like you get from somewhere like [NM], so [i] was still doing really basic work. Being around those that know what they’re talking about and are willing to give advice has helped to no end, but it’s still the only place I really post my work regularly.

NMNL: How long have you been an artist?
Silent Sneeze: That’s a weird question because I don’t consider myself an artist at all, I did art at GCSE but was average and never did anything remotely artistic again (apart from doodles) until I started using PS. I still wouldn’t call myself an artist, so I dunno the answer to that really.

NMNL: What influences you the most as an artist?
Silent Sneeze: Well I still ain’t an artist but anything and everything influences my tags. I find myself looking at things a bit differently now that I use PS more, whenever I see an advert or something with graphics on it, I find myself thinking about how they made it and if I could use any of the ideas etc. Of course all the work you see on this forum and elsewhere on the net also gives me plenty of ideas and influences the way I approach my next tag but there’s no one thing that influences me really.

NMNL: Do you think graphic arts as a whole is underappreciated?
Silent Sneeze: I just don’t think many people are very aware of it, like most things, unless you’re involved in it and have a specific interest in it it’s easy to let it pass you by. So I wouldn’t say it’s underappreciated; it’s just in the background most of the time. It’s definitely a growing area, though, so more people are coming to appreciate it, a bit like I’ve done really.

NMNL: Are you a member of any of the Graphics Teams?
Silent Sneeze: No one’ll have me and I don’t blame them really, I’m not sure what they’re for anyway.

NMNL: Do you tend to use a certain type of model (women, men, anime character, and so on) for your sigs? Why or why not?
Silent Sneeze: To be honest I’ll use just about anything. At first all I was doing was football sigs but now they’re a rarity. If I see any picture I think would make an interesting tag, I’ll use it.

NMNL: I was really impressed by the art you posted in one of your recent threads. Your choice of light and vibrant colors in Samurai Champloo sig in particular blew me away. What was your motivation behind chooses such colors?Silent Sneeze: I just go with what I feel’s right for that tag, very rarely do I set out with a particular colour scheme in mind, and even if I do it tends to change half way through the tag, so it’s a bit hit and miss really.

NMNL: Like wise, the sig with bulzi written on in it is very active and interesting. The arm and gun almost appear to be moving in the mist of a still background. Can you tell us about what inspired you to make the sig that way?
Silent Sneeze: It just developed that way, as I’m working on something I just try out different effects I think might work, sometimes that ends up with my sigs looking a bit chaotic and random. For that one, I just wanted to give the gun some sort of detail so it looked like it’d been in action or whatever, so it looked a bit more interesting and also to try and give the tag some direction.

NMNL: What are the benefits for an artist to participate in a graphics section like the one on NM?
Silent Sneeze: In terms of your work. it’s got to be the feedback you get, personally I can’t seem to judge my own work at all so I like getting peoples opinions on it so I can try and see it from their POV. You also get ideas and motivation from other members and their work, not to mention you just get to see great tags on a regular basis, which is great in itself. It’s like anything you enjoy doing, it’s always better when you share it with other people and get their input.



Plus it gives you somewhere to waste time =)

NMNL: Do you have any future goals/aspirations?Silent Sneeze: I wish I did but I’m too apathetic in general to have such things, I suppose my goal is to have a goal…which kinda fulfils itself so I’m done.

NMNL: Any comments to your friends or fans on NM?Silent Sneeze: If you’re out there please make yourselves known … and hi.

NMNL: Can you provide a few additional sites containing your work?Silent Sneeze: I suppose it’s fitting that I finish with this….. That’s a no I’m afraid, I’m pretty much exclusively NM at the moment with my work, maybe I should make the effort to branch out.

NMNL: What’s your RL name?
EE: Michael Welch, everyone calls me "Mike" though. Been like that since forever.

NMNL: What brought you to Nm?
EE:I used to browse the old PB forums and when they got a VB I guess I just joined. Not as soon as it was created but, late 2004.

NMNL: What’s the story behind using “EE” as a username?
EE: My first forum name came from my then favorite anime character "Edward Elric" from Full Metal Alchemist, then when I joined my first graphics team "~:[Echelon]:~" Kon used to address me as "EE". That's pretty much how it came along, thank you LoliKon!

NMNL: How has the graphics art section changed over time?
EE: To tell the truth, it has decreased a lot. I mean it used to be so lively around here and now it's just a dead scene with a few good people, a few mediocre, and some bad ones (everyone has them).

NMNL: Do you think it has gotten better or worse?
EE: Worse for sure. I can't even produce anything from back in my hot days. Mainly because nothing is as inspiring as it used to, I look up to none of these guys around here. I mean back when NM was bangin,' I used to look up to so many people I can barely name them all. Tom, Miragio, KaM, Avalantis, Konfucius, Poon, Kazman3, _cid, laath, x2thaU and many more(sorry if I didn't name you).

NMNL: How long have you been an artist?
EE:Since late 2004, around the december time period. That's with Photoshop, back in elementary school I used to draw a lot of Dragonball Z and Pokemon.

NMNL: What got you into making sigs?
EE: Looking at the other people do it. Big—BIG—inspirations back then were x2thaU and Atemesk. With those vector styles, really drove me to make tags.

NMNL: What influences you the most as an artist?
EE: Music is a big help, The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, The Killers, Lil Wayne, and many more greats help me.

NMNL: What do you think of the other regulars in NM’s graphics area?
EE: They're all dicks. <3 lol
Nah but seriously, they're all cool down to earth people. Really have no problem with anyone, THEY might have a problem with me but, as I see it I have no problem with them.

NMNL: Do you have a rival or two gfxer?
EE: Not really, I don't do to much graphics anymore. So don't have a rival for now. I know me and Bungle had a heated rivalry in early 07' we battled like every week or every other day. Guy makes some epic stuff.

NMNL: You are one of the most active participants in the Battle Section. Can you explain your motives for battling so much? What do you gain out of battling?
EE: I'm just a bored black man on an anime forum with photoshop at the tip of my fingers. Might as well battle. Think I got an award for it.
I don't really gain anything I guess, just another win on my record along with a lot of loses.

NMNL: You’re a member of the Loon Unit. Can you tell me why you choose that battle team?
EE:They chose me, I didn't choose them. (I felt special.)

NMNL: What is the Loon Units goal?
EE: Nothing. Was a joke team put together by Lunar, Konfucius, Poon, and Misc. I'm just a roadog so I was there.

NMNL: Is the Loon Unit evil, good, neutral?
EE: Nah, we aren't villains.

NMNL: Do you think the Loon Unit is best team around?
EE: ~:[Echelon]:~ was better. R.I.P ~:[Echelon]:~

NMNL: Would you ever consider relocating to another battle team?
EE: Already did, moved to Apex. Lovely bunch of fellows. Always keeping up the laughs.

NMNL: Your art is Hawt. Your sig that recently one SOTW, for example, is very interesting. The are some many little details and the color scheme is great. Can you tell us why you made the sig the way you did? What about using the big, bold letters, do you feel that this was a risky choice?
EE:Well it was a designer label theme. So I tried my hardest to imitate _cid's "Sir****ingSexy" tag, I failed obviously but, I just moved some layers around added the Dolce&Gabana logo and some renders and effects and I got something I liked and something everyone else liked I guess. The bold letters were just something I threw in the tag just so my name would be on it. lol

NMNL: Another sig that captivates me is the Sagat WIP. The movement is very clear and the stock really fits the piece. And, the dark background really makes the eyes focus on the stock. Can you comment on the piece and the approach you took?
EE: I was actually browsing Tagmonkey forums and I saw that a lot of people were still doing sprite tags and then I ran up on SkyStrife's thread and it was amazing. The kid really has talent and I loved his sprite tags. They inspired me. So I tried something with a Sagat sprite because I've never seen anyone touch a Sagat sprite and I went for it. I tried mainly in that tag to make Sagat himself or his foot the focal point of that tag. So I put one of my old Kyo tag's that had fire on it under the Sagat sprite and cut out edges on it added effects and it gave me a good looking tag. To bad i never finished the tag itself I just rushed it and lost a battle with it. Maybe when I'm inspired again, I'll finish it for real.

NMNL: I also noticed that your stocks contain various types of models? Do you prefer using different types of stocks? Why?
EE: I use a lot of model stocks because.. Some people are down right sexy and you gotta use those sexy stocks. I always try different stocks, different looks to them and different motions.

NMNL: Do you participate in any other forums?
EE: I only participate on NM, I tried a few other forums once or twice. Just never worked out for me.

NMNL: What are the benefits for an artist to participate in an graphics section like the one on NM?
EE: You get to meet a lot of cool people and learn some neat stuff.

NMNL: What are your future goals/aspirations?
EE: Get off my ass and get a better job. Become a cop or something so I can use a knight stick on someone.

NMNL: Any comments to your friends and fans on NM?
EE: Doubt I have fans, to the haters/enemies:

Synopsis

In the edge of perception, beyond the bounds of mortal existence, there is another world, a world of demons and other supernatural beings. However, one Karas, Hoshunin Eko, decided to turn on his brethren, and together with demon-machines known as the Mikura, has decided that no amount of human sacrifice would be enough to bring his own kind of order to his domain, which conveniently enough, lay in the dense heart of humanity known as Shinjuku.

The old Karas is slain, and three years later, an enigmatic doctor named Otoha is chosen to topple Eko and restore what Shinjuku once was ... but will even help from the most unlikely of sources be enough for him to accomplish his important mission?

Review

It's been forty years since Tatsunoko Pro opened its doors, giving us titles as varied as Speed Racer, Casshan, Gatchaman, Tekkaman, and, well, other shows ending in man. While Tatsunoko is very well known for its superhero classics, not a lot of people think of them as the producers of slick, modern anime.

Karas changes all that. This is as slick as anime gets, with its shiny metal shapeshifting warriors given the best CG treatment money can buy. This is really impressive animation, and on this basis alone, more than a few reviewers are going to send this one to the shelves with a five-star tag, and that's certainly their prerogative to do so. If your taste in anime is based on graphics and action, you don't need to read any further. Buy this now.

Of course, all the rest of you who are still reading understand that I'm not that kind of reviewer. As much as I like my action, I get a little bored if you don't stimulate my brain with something resembling a plot or characterization. Thankfully, while Karas doesn't give us the most memorable characters in anime history, it gives us a few bits of interest.

Granted, the hero himself, Otoha, is a fairly typical Tatsunoko cipher, and his search for identity is clearly a sideplot at best. However, the inclusion of two detectives working on "supernatural crimes" is what really draws my interest here -- sandwiched between all these amazing action scenes is what amounts to an X-Files style mystery, only we know what's going on, and the detectives don't. It's actually a fairly effective way of building suspense, though you don't really get to see the two main casts interact, as time essentially stops for the humans when Karas dukes it out with the bad guys.

Another point of interest is that there's also more than one faction involved, so after a while, who's who and who's planning what almost becomes a bit byzantine. A strange side effect is that the "subcast" (as it were) seems to get more actual speaking time than the actual combatants, who are too busy fighting to be very talkative.

The plot, of course, is little more than an excuse for the action, and at times it seems nigh-incomprehensible, what with all the secrecy that enshrouds Eko and his cadre of Mikura, but this is a surprisingly minor problem, as things get revealed relatively quickly. This is also just part of a series, and revealing too much too soon would be counterproductive in any case.

SAIUNKOKU MONOGATARI

Genre: Romantic, Comedy, Historic and Drama

Also known as "The Tale of Saiunkoku "and" The Tale of Land of Many Colored Clouds," Saiunkoku Monogatari started as a novel created by Sai Yukino (author) and Kairi Yura (artist) on 2003. Two years later, Yura published the manga version of the original novel. Then, NHK and Animax released the first 39 episodes on April 8, 2006, which was directed by Jun Shishido. The second season began on April 7, 2007 at NHK and continues to run for 25 episodes.

Saiunkoku Monogatari consists of mixed Japanese and Chinese idioms, metaphors and ironies to represent the opening titles. The characters portray old sayings to audiences as morals in each episode.


BRIEF OVERVIEW:

Kou Shuurei's dream is to become a government official because she dislikes being poor and wants to assist people in need. One day, she hears that she can earn a big salary by performing governmental work so she volunteers to do the job herself without any hesitation. However, she later realizes that she is supposed to work as the Imperial Harem to help the lazy emperor, Shi Ryuuki.

Ever since that day, Ryuuki falls in love with Shuurei and improves his skills as an emperor. Shuurei finally returns to her home after completing her tasks. Characters in the plot soon unexpectedly begin to like Shuurei, as she faces various challenges to reach her ultimate dream.

KOU SHUUREI
Besides being the one and only daughter of Shouka Kou of the Kou Clan, Kou Shuurei inherited her skills and beauty from her mother. Shuurei is talented, intelligent and cute as well. Cooking, needlework and housekeeping are considered as her multi-talented tasks. She can also play erhu, a Chinese violin made with two strings. Throughout the first season, she slowly begins to become a woman.

SHOUKA KOU
The father of Kou Shuurei, eldest of the Kou Clan and a legendary assassin named, “The Black Wolf”. Long before Shuurei was born in this world, he created a dangerous organization called, “The Wolves of The Wind” which served to protect and obey the former emperor. After the former emperor passed away, the group had been dismantled. Although Shuurei doesn’t know her father’s dark past, she still loves and cares for him a lot. Shouka still works on the archives in the imperial palace.

SEIRAN SHI
Shouka Kou and his family adopted Seiran Shi about 14 years ago. He was exiled in the imperial palace and is Ryuuki’s loving and surviving elder brother. Seiran vows to protect his foster family throughout his life without Shuurei knowing him being the royal prince. He is quiet and calm, but shows his true colors when his friends are around him.

SHI RYUUKI
Shi Ryuuki is the emperor of the imperial palace and still cares for his brother, Seiran. Before he met Shuurei, he pretended to be lazy, stupid and irresponsible because he was lonely and uninspired. But thanks to Shuurei’s help and care, he becomes more responsible and well mannered as the emperor of the imperial palace. Even though Shuurei wants to reach her goals in life, Ryuuki continues to wait for her and loves her devotedly.

RAN SHUUEI
Ran Shuuei is the general of the imperial palace. He bows to Ryuuki to be on his side. He is well-skilled, loyal, courageous, and suspicious but has a sense of humor.

LI KOUYUU
Even though he is assigned as the Vice-Secretary of the Civil Affairs Department and Ryuuki's teacher, Li Kouyuu easily gets lost all the time – with or without a map. Despite denying that he is Ran Shuuei's best friend, they get along quite well. Aside from Shuuei, Li Kouyuu is also loyal to Ryuuki.

Linkin Park became one of the most influential bands in the world today. By combining Hip-hop, Rap and Alternative Rock, it creates new music mainstream to audiences. Who would have thought that these types of music can actually work out and sound good? Plus, I've never thought before that adding turntables in their songs is also interesting. Well, this is how unique the band is.

Besides their unique combination of songs, the music videos are artistic and very creative as well. "In the End" and "Breaking the Habit" are few examples of graphics and animations combined. Usually, most music videos with animations don't last very long in video and music top charts. However, when it's Linkin Park's music video, it captivates us. On the other hand, "What I've Done" music video is different. Although, it doesn't have animations and graphics, it brings a strong visual message on how humanity fails to take care of others and their environment - as well as their own personal beings.

Meanwhile, they also do charity works by performing concerts and they also associated with artists like Jay-Z and My Chemical Romance to raise awareness. And as a result, it's a complete success.

The band was originally named Zero by three high-school close friends named Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Rob Bourdon from Augora High School in California. Since then, they recruited more members to create their own originality in music - although it wasn't an easy start. Even if their own buget was short to produce music, they began recording their own songs to rise up their careers. Throughout the process, there were frustrations inside the band in which they began to fall apart. By including Chris Bennington on March 1999, the band has been united again to release their Album, "Hybrid Theory" on 2000. Even though the band has ups and downs, Linkin Park will continue to work together as a team. Their new album, "Minutes to Midnight", is in stores right now.

How long have you been a fan of Linkin Park?
- About 3-4 years and proud of it!

Hmm. Interesting. Do you have all of their albums? Which one is your favorite?
- Yes, we have all of their albums including Fort minor- which isn't really Linkin Park but it's Mike. Out of all their albums, Meteora is my absolute favorite.

Where do you live?
- In Los Angeles, California.

Well, you metioned to me before that Linkin Park visited your town and you participated this contest with your sister. Tell us more about that.
- My mom heard it on the radio, “106.7 KROQ” before - so she told us about the contest. Well, for three days, we would get up at 5:45 a.m. because the contest would start at that time, and we would listen for five hours with our phones ready to call the station. Unfortunately for us, they only played the contest twice a day, but it gave a bunch of people’s tickets. Yeah, it was a pretty easy contest, like "Name the Famous 'Linkins' and they would ask questions like "What was the 16th president? Abraham Lincoln. "

Even the radio station asked about a US history question?
- Yeah, because the President's name was Lincoln.

Since you found out that Linkin Park came to LA, what was your reaction?
- Well, it wasn't a big shock to me because they come to LA a lot; but I was still happy because I was going to their concert.

About the Linkin Park radio contest, when it started? Was it a week ago?
- It started on Monday, but we found out on monday night.

How well did you prepared for this moment?
- To prepare for this moment was to wake up early and waste our phone minutes...

How do you knew that you've won? Does the radio station itself called you?
- Well, when my sister called and got on the air she asked a question, and then a guy that worked there asked for all her information. And then on Wednesday, the day before the “Breakfast”, the radio station called her and told her where to go.

Since I know that your name is Qiana, can u tell me your sister's name?
- Her name is Geness. We all have weird names.

I see. Who were the radio hosts at that time?
- Well, the radio hosts at the time were Kevin, Bean, Lisa May, and Lightning

Describes us more about the breakfast venue (which is at the radio station) in details. Is the place simple? What was it like? Were there many people in there besides you?
- It was a pretty simple place, nothing to pretty. Just extremely plain. There was about 70-80 people that went.

Were you sat near next to them?
- I was sitting near them, like ten people away or something.

What happened next? Have you played games and stuff?
- After, they put on a small concert and they answered some of the audiences' questions.

Have they played their songs as usual? Then what were those songs?
- They played Bleed It Out, In the End, Numb, What I've Done, and A Place for My Head.

At what time did the breakfast meeting finished?
- It started at 12:00 and ended at 3:00 because they were late.

Besides going to the radio station to see Linkin Park as contest prize on July 19, you and Geness would attend the concert on July 28 in L.A. Can you tell us a little bit more about the concert and what is it for?
- The concert, which is called Projekt Revolution, is a concert that brings together some big names in Rock and Hip Hop.

If there is one question you can ask them, what is it?
- How come they started cussing in their music?

Before we end the interview, who is your favorite band member and why?
- My favorite is Rob the drummer. I like him because he plays the drums extremely well and he's the cutest.

What is your most favorite Linkin Park song? Just name one.
- My favorite LP song...it would be "No More Sorrow". In that song, I love the drums (it has a good beat).

hmmm i would say Myspace represents now because, many young people use it to meet people, nearly everyone has an account. It represents the 'Now' cuz many people use it like i said, and they can create bulletins, and message with people, which means that these people meet new people even if it is only virtual.

however Youtube, you have to post video's of some sort to get people to notice you, also Youtube can be used for diffrent things like advertising, (maybe propaganda), cartoons, shows etc... so it depends on what you mean by representing 'Now' because you can get a lot of things from it.

If you modern society/culture/etc. I think i get your gist...
Why? Because Youtube gives an 'artistic' (this form of artistic can go to low, low standards. Such as hentai...) view of the modern world. Although Myspace (another instance that 2 words become 1...) shows our side, it only gives a brief look of us.

But when we post up a video, it gives an insight to our tastes of humor, culture, music, personality, etc. It's a sub-conscience thing. We can show who we really are by showing things we've made.

By simply viewing a video you've posted about say... Bleach, I can tell you most likely like Bleach, and by the content, I can tell the character you like the most. If it's a AMV, then I can tell what type of music you like, as it'll be the type you use. I can also tell if you're savvy in computers by the quality of your work.

Well after I'd received it in the mail after it had been in circulation bouncing from address to address looking for me I would take it out of the case then throw it to the dog. After several months of the dog using it as as bum buddy toy I would pick up the still recognisable remains and place it tied to a long stick with a noose around it's neck.

Then after surfing the internet for several hours during which I'd probably get sidetracked due to the unconditional amazing amount of "reading" material on the web I would look for a Pokemon convention somewhere.

Buying the ticket to the place I would fly over to the convention..Then using the extra money I had I would spend it on a stall in the prime position at the convention. Ensuring that I arrived during rush hour at the con I would stand on top of a ladder and dangle said object out over the crowd standing on a ladder on my table at my position, then ensuring I had everyones attention whilst having the 1812 overture blasting out from a stereo near me I would dip the stick with my hand that was tied to the strung up object so that I dipped the object into a bowl of clear liquid I had nearby on the table.

Then looking at all of the audience who by now would be silent with anticipation and wonder I would pull out a lighter and light the mofo on fire since the liquid would be something comparable to gasoline.

Then whilst the object was burning and the many devoted fans were screaming in agony as their faces melted with their idol I would laugh and laugh again..Then I'd probably flee the country.

2. Well if I had ten million dollars you could bloody well be sure that you people aren't getting any..It's mine..All mine..

Seriously..I'd probably see if I could invest it in a high interest rate savings account..Leave it to mature..Then when I had enough I'd buy all the physical locations and sites of the hardware that contains the internet. Then when I was sure I owned the entire internet I would ensure that if anyone wanted to use it they would have to pay a weekly fee to me. Perverts would pay less provided they gave links as to what they were looking at for security reasons of the state of Ai.

3. My question would be: Since your the guru of wisdom of everything in the world, Why the hell can't you wise up to the fact that your sitting butt naked on a mountain top...Get a life man..And get some clothes.

After which I would probably shoot him because he knew too much.

"Can you free me from this imprisonment that I'm having right now? I only have one life to live and I don't want to live like this..."

I get this question a lot:

When will you publish the cbnl?

So, We've decided on an official day every month and that will be the start of every month but if we couldn't get it out by the 1st of the month then I will make sure to post an announcement about that in the last issue and inform you when will the new issue will be published.

Anyhow, if you have an article for the cbnl, don't hesitate to send it to me or one of the editors- although Eva, Ai, Mirage and me are the only ones available right now- and don't worry if you were on time or not because it will be published although it might be delayed a bit if you don't send it except by the end of the month.
