Bleach Portal.. When Will it be Back?

I have seen this question in at least 2 threads today, and I got kinda sick of answering it just twice, so I'm posting it ehre so everyone can easily find the answer.

THE STORY:
For some reason our Domain Name Registrar changed the DNS from our host to something completely different, thus it is not pointing to the location in which our files are stored, and we don't own the loaction it is pointing at, because of this... the site is down.

We have no idea why this happened and belive it is 100% GoDaddy.com's fault as Seien is never on, which is the main reason this sin't fixed by now, so if he was on, he wouldn't have changed it :/

Anyway, everyones Member Data and everything is safe, nothing has happened to the host, the domain is just pointing to the wrong place, and due to how the host is setup I cannot give you guy the normal http://123.123.12.12/~bportal/ kindo of URL, as it won't work.

Just because the site is down, I've taken this oppourtunity to fix some things up that were broken, and I've been busy uploading RAW, MANGA and MUSIC, while Lunatic has been uploading those loving AVI and RM episodes you all love and adore. When we get be prepared to download alot, because MEDIA WILL BE BACK ONLINE!!!!

HOW CAN YOU HELP BLEACH PORTAL GET UP FASTER?
Now this may seem impossible since Seien is never online and we have to wait for him, but you can help. Lunatic has a contact number for Seien, most likley his house, but Seien goes to collage, so Lunatic is too scared to call the number and ask for Seien Cell Number :/ So If everyone asks Lunatic Really nicely, he might jsut call Seien so we don't have to wait untill he gets on by his own means, which could be a WEEK, OR MORE!! :'(

And here's where I hit a dead end.

I think this may be more than a wrong pointer problem. GoDaddy (or whoever you DNS is) may have simply lost your records for whatever reason...

We don't know the exact problem as of right now. Our host aswell as us are trying our best to get the site back up. Please be patient while this is in progress :/ We don't want the site down either.

Our host is fine, there is no problem with it, its perfect, its just sitting there waiting for the domain to be fixed.

OK, I was miss-informed of the problem, or jsut miss-understood. The domain did not have it DNS changed, it mearly had been put into REGISTAR-HOLD, which means... its kinda doesn't exisit... The registar can't do anything with it, and we can't do anything with it, and it doesn't appear in the zone, so its pretty much.... Not There :/

Anyway... the only person who can do anything about it is Seien, who has to call GoDaddy.com and find out the problem, Lunatic is currently sick, and he has told me he WILL call Seien tomorrow, so if he doesn't I will pwn his ass.

Anyway... if we do manage to get in contact with Seien, I don't see why we won't be back up in a day or 2, but you never know, our luck has gone this bad so far, lets just hope the best and that this is easily recoverable.

Just trying to help out. I've been though the whole DNS shenanigans with a company. Not fun.

Another possibility is that your records simply haven't propagated. This usually takes around 24 hours. (Although VeriSign/Network Solutions have been aiming for a shorter propagation period a couple of months ago. Perhaps not!)

The dig DNS lookups don't say that the host has problems. It just says that the domain name doesn't point anywhere.

Indeed it does, but for the wrong reason. (And I am aware than said seien needs to login, etc.)

bleachportal.com does not actually point to a different host. It just points to nowhere now.

A few things could have caused this.
1) The DNS hoster lost your records (simplest explanation)

Now you said you folks were moving your server about. That should not have caused all of this. Usually, you'll get somewhere along the DNS tree, whether it be an invalid IP or whatnot. You don't hit a dead end. (If you folks have "dig" or "nslookup", you can try it with a bogus domain name)

2) Seien did update the records sometime. He accidently erased them the first time (which would explain the dead end) and has recreated them recently (which means it takes time for those changes to propagate).

3) There's a conflicting DNS server out there with different records (now this one is pretty fun to troubleshoot). Sometimes you win; sometimes you lose. You've got to target the appropriate nameserver to get this one narrowed down.

And I realize that seien needs to update the records.

Meanwhile, I have found the correct nameserver, and the current pointing IP for www.bleachportal.com. As for the "currentness" of the IP, that I do not know.

Interestingly, the nameserver isn't propagating it's records.

Update: I think now that none of the above reasons is probable.

If you look in the WhoIs database, our correct nameservers are still there, it rust says "Status: Registrar Hold" which means what I said before.

We were not moving around hsots or anything, that was a miss-understanding or soemthing by Tammy, we are not changing hosts, nor have we in at least a month. Seien has also not touched the DNs to the domain since we moved to this host.

The records have nothing to do with it, for some reason our account has been put into a Status in which it is not useable, hopfully godaddy will be able to fix this, but they cannot do anything without being contacted by the owner of the domain, Seien.

Our webhost has been trying to help us solve this problem since he is much more experianced in the field, and he says that he has no idea what would have caused this problem, but the problem is because its put into a Status of Hold, this removes the Domain name from the "zone" which is probably why you seam to be hitting a dead end, if you use WhoIs from GoDaddy.com, you will see the NameServers are still intact.
