Japanese Popularity

A lot of my friends in Virginia dig Bleach (both Anime and Manga) ... I've searched the web and I'm trying to find out how popular Bleach is in Japan ...

Is it one of the top rated TV shows? Is it a kids only thing there?

There are many products that are sold in Japan (e.g. DS and PS games, trading cards, toys, etc.) Are those items really that popular there?

It would be great if one of our Japanese friends or people that have gone to Japan recently would reply!

It's not so popular, not the manga. One Piece is the most popular manga(atleast most bought) there dunno about Anime.

If I'm correct, Naruto, One Piece and Bleach are the top 3 shounen anime, If I'm correct, its first Naruto, then Bleach, then One Piece (feel free to correct me)

I think it's pretty popular in Japan, however, some of its popularity suffered thanks to the filler arcs (no surprises there). Basically, the most popular anime in Japan from what I've gathered are Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and FMA.

Yep, BLEACH is pretty popular in Japan... Moreeee popular than Naruto >_>

Especially BLEACH anime is far greater than Naruto =P
It's the truth lol.

And talk about anime, until now Full Metal Alchemist still the most famous in Japan... it's one of the best anime ever.

It is popular in Japan, especially if they dub it and bring it to America aswell as port some of the games to America, but it's not as popular as Naruto, One Piece and maybe Death Note.
