meh i needa prepare for the ap exam so why not
first topic: FRD's role in reviving the US economy, was the new deal effective?
the new deal though it did improve the conditions brought about by the Great Depression, was not effective enough to turn the tide. In the years before the invasion of poland, the unemployment rate was only lowered by a little. further, the US wasted it national treasury on worthless projects. from my perspective, it was the war not roosevelt that returned the US to its propersity

senior-->AP govt
so anyways back to your topic...
first topic: FRD's role in reviving the US economy, was the new deal effective?
This sounds like the old DBQ from '03 =\. The easier way to go is the neoconservative interpretation. Just say yes.

roosevelts policies brought america into a new age.
out of a purely capitalistic state to a society that has the capitalistic edge and the socialistic touch, however, it did not have any short term results. While the american government poured more and more money into the relief and reform efforts, the unemployment rate essentially remained the same. it wasnt until the beginning of wwii that the economy recover due to allied supply demands

eh? you want real data?
1936 unemployment still stood at 15 percent
1937, a recession was caused by the cost of the new deal especially in social security
the new deal, though good in that it brought much needed reforms caused a greater deficit. the national debt was $19,487,000,000 in 1932, but escaladed to $40,440,000,000 by 1939
also agricultural reforms were did not solve the surplus problem. there were far more farm surpluses under roosevelt than hoover.

True. That and I don't think people are in the history/schoolwork mindset when they're on the forums, otherwise they'd be doing their work...OR they're done with it and they don't want to think about it any longer...OR they multitask and just don't care about history.

very true that us history is boring, and at times very deceptice, but that is why it is good, the deceptive part. teaches you alot about life
