anybody played it yet? it was awesome imo.

i've beat it twice, once with killing all the little sisters, and another time by saving the little sisters.

anytime you can inject youself with stuff, and shoot fire outta your fingers, that game is a win.

discuss?

I just recently got this game, but to be honest I wasn't impressed by the graphics. Believe me, I set everything on high and the graphics didn't look too good. I'll give my opinions on gameplay later.

It was definately worth buying imo. I wanna sequel already.

09-10-2007, 10:01 PM
Well, it's a great spirtual sequel to the awesomenss that was System Shock 2.
All the cool plasmids and tonics make up for the lack of RPG elements, that were in System Shock 2.

It's pretty great, it does fall short on the "choice" factor, but then again, most games do.

Everything great about the game except vitachambers, and a need for sidequest in such a big open-ended game.

The Big Daddies scare you?

The game isn't Resident Evil scary, but if your easily scared, then it'll get scary for you quite often.

Scariest part is when you pick up an item, then the lights go off, then some scary ass music starts playing and splicers attack you!(its scary as hell in one part of the game)

If your not into that type of junk, then Bioshock isn't for you.

Bioshock nails atmosphere and creepy enemies.
Not quite on the level of say, a Silent Hill, or whatever. But the characters are genuinely scary. The mad plastic surgeon for example, he was a creepy dude.
They pretty much all have back stories too; listening about them via Video Diaries is pretty unnerving.
As you collect them you're pretty much learning about their transition from crazy to psychotic.
Bioshock scares you in a subtle way.
Rapture is an extremely brutal world, and you're meant to see that, first hand.

It's a scary game. In terms of atmosphere, and just taking a hard look at the environments, you want to reach your hands into the bloody secrets of Rapture, and pull out answers.

I must say it defenatley lived up to its hype!

Shuch a pwnsome game

I really liked the bit when you became a Big Daddy, and the fact that Atlas was Fontaine actually suprised me, which is very rare, the only other game that did it was KOTOR o.O

I really loved the story. Something that it did much better than it's predecessor System Shock 2.

I must ask though....Did you guys choose to save or Harvest the Little Sisters?

Yeah, I saved too. People say the evil ending isn't very good. + All the extra goodies you get for saving the little sisters.

I hate you all.

Way too poor for this right now, although it's on my hitlist so to speak.

Is it really as good as all the reviews? Just trying to figure out if i'm going to sell a kidney to buy it.

miku
09-28-2007, 10:47 PM
You might want to wait on Bioshock if you really can't afford it right now.
It's an only singleplayer game, that...if your slow and really explore the world might take you 20 - 22 hours to finish. So it's longish.
Is it as good as the reviews? I'd say yes. It's probably one of the best First Person shooters out there at the moment.

Well cheers ^

I think i may wait on getting rid of one of the kidneys, i need a bit of multiplayer every now and then.

Having said that, i'll still probably get it in like a week.

Thanks.

Chances are if he's interested in it, if he buys it...there's SOMETHING in Bioshock he'll love. The atmosphere, the story, whatever.

Because it is a really good game.

Is there any real reason behind the whole "We charge 10$ extra for the 360 version" crap?

They did the same thing with Shadowrun. :/

They did the same thing with Shadowrun. :/

They charge $10/£10 more because the disk is a live cd meaning that the game is already installed onto it, thats why pc games are cheaper because you have to install it yourself :/

Chances are, if you play ANY FPS, you'll enjoy this game.

In fact, I'd pretty much guarantee it. I've never met anyone who DIDN'T like it that had it.

Naw man Bioshock looks to scary for my taste. I don't need crazy dead nurses chasing me.

I can tell you have never played any of the Silent Hill games, BioShock looks like Kirby compared to Silent Hill!

And besides they are not dead, just an overdose of genetic modification ;)

silverwolf801
10-04-2007, 03:57 PM
wow. only genetic modifications. I have played silence hill the whole hole in the wall thing. Things coming out of the floor. bla bla bla. Bioshock still looks scary. You inject yourself to get powers

Wait, I can't be the only guy that thought harvesting the little sisters was the good way to go...They're evil....remove the symbiote and what not...

Bah, well now I have some motivation to go back and finish it. I'm pathetically close to the end just haven't done it.

I also agree bioshock isn't scary, I won't say its not creepy, but thats because of the beautifully laid out atmosphere the game provides.

granamonkey
10-04-2007, 05:00 PM
well... There are some scary parts I must admit. Play it with the lights out in the middle of the night while your the only person home. you'll jump once or twice (depending on which part of the game your at). It's creepy all the way through though, but only scary at some points. Not scary like, ZOMG I'M NOT GOING TO BED!" scary, just like, "GAHHH!!!!" *throws 360 controller in the air* (for console gamers) or *falls out of his chair* (for PC gamers with an unstable chair).

I have a 360 but ill wait for the PS3 version to come out.

At first look it might look scary but its your typical FPS shooter but with an innovative weapon: your human body. If you're squeamish about injecting yourself with needles then that's a different story. It's totally a great game. I bought the game new on ebay for $32. It was well worth the money. Buy it. Rent it. Borrow it. It's a must play.
