Well it's that time again. The rugby world cup officially kicked off in France last night with a victory for Argentina against the home team.
There are a lot of good teams out there and it should be a tight one. I'm rooting for Ireland, myself, I think they can win!!1

well i for one am watching it!
i support the All Blacks followed closely by the wallabies. it was heartwrnching the cheapness by which england won last time. drop kick by johnny wilkinson. but the wallabies are BACK FOR vengence!!!!! :D

well, despite the fact that i want the wallabies to win, i doubt they will. so i'm rooting for new zealand, followed by any team that's not south africa.

Well like I told my family, I think the All Blacks are going to win it but I have to half support my country some how so here it goes...

how about a friendly tipping comp then?
i've got money on the kiwis to win, going up against sewth efrica (accents are fun) in second.
and to bottom out the tournament, i've got money on japan on the bottom of the tables, followed by the yanks.
also, argentina as a wildcard in there somewhere. god it blew me off the couch when they beat the cheese eating surrender moneys.:winking56

LOL OMG England got their asses kicked against South Africa last night! And we are supposed to be the reigning champs at the moment :sad
Yay people replyed to my thread!!! Haha lol. Nah, I can't believe how bad Ireland are playing this tournamnet and they were meant to be in with quite a good chance, but jeez, tonight we just barely beat Georgia. We look like rookie's out there.
If I was to back a winner I think it would be at this stage NZ, with SA very close behind them. Mind you, Australia are playing stellar
No way!! SA, NZ, and Aus are way too strong for England to win, besides if Ireland get their groove back they could take em!!! Haha lolz. Sure anything is possible...

of all the teams, the all blacks are performing in a league higher than the other nations. the closest team to them are the bokkers (SA) and they are really only performing well in their defence.
i think that aus has a chance of beating the boks, so a final willmost likely be either the All Blacks and the Boks or the All Blacks and the Wallabies

unfortunately for aus, everyone is raving about how well we played against teams that frankly, didnt put up too much of a fight, yet there was still a ridiculous amount of handling errors. once we go up against NZ or SA i have a feeling that theres going to be rather a large spanking in store.
Yeah that is actually Ireland's downfall the handling errors that are occurring in games. Luckily enough for Aus that's all that's going wrong for them, although I have to admit I didn't really notice! But our are atrocious. Eddie O'sullivan had to drop both Stringer and Hickey. I don't mind Stringer being dropped as he was a weak link in the team, Hickey *sigh* he's generally a very consistent player but is making shocking mistakes. That and O'Gara just can't kick into touch for some reason. Plus, to top it all off, we are a team who is usually very strong in the line outs but we are making sloppy mistakes and crooked throws. Hopefully that should be rectified with the starting of Flannery.
But France is next I actually fear it'll be an embarassment...
...i'll go with all blacks and maby england to win title this year.
Well after four shocking performances *well today's wasn't so bad* we're out Argentina sent us packing our bags back on a plane to Ireland. Most likely there will be a few questions about O'Sullivan's choice only to play 18 out of 30 respective players....
Ah well GOOD LUCK ARGENTINA!!!

Holy crap, screw australia. Argentina are my new heroes. i want them to win. i love it when underdog teams punch way above their weight. all condolences to ireland though, they're awesome too. i'd prefer to have seen ireland move onto the quarters rather than france...

They made it to the quarters. Versus SA now. Should be tite hopefully

The way that they played against wales shows that they are very good. all they need is a little belief and is SA make any mistakes they can possibly win.
Island nations have some of the best talent but no facilities to grow it :P

Shhhhh. how else are we to retain dominance if you tell everyone that? actually, now that it's on my mind, i know the high performance manager for the fiji team, used to be my rowing coach. i should probably send him an email or two...
I can't believe how well my country is doing! I'm proud of them for a change! Well done South Africa!

south africa is arguably second only to Aus and NZ. so they gotta do well. and also they have the highest scoring player in the tournament :P
Well now both NZ and Aus have been majorly humbled after todays matches. Gotta say though that was an absolutely epic performance from France. Laporte is a genious, keeping Michalak out until early second half was what France needed. He enjected energy into the team. That and Chabal is just a viking:D
However, comiserations to NZ, they did miss Carter although France, were the better in the end, but a very close call.
I would love to see them go on and win it (they beat us and sent us packing :D). They certainly deserve it! However, I'm going to have to put my money on SA. They have a strong team, although surprises can happen. A weak English team overpowered the Aussies. I gotta say England played amazingly they used the best of their abilities and played intelligently.

so australia and new zealand are out. i have to say i didnt expect to see new zealand go, but i'm not particularly surprised about australia getting rubbed out considering what a piss weak coach they have. so it looks to me like south africa are likely going to get away with this one. oh well, i still think i'll back argentina.

this is the first world cup in its history with out either aus or NZ in the final. i think that the boks will have a tough time against a confident argentina, but all in all they have the skill to take it home. england is too weak but i think theyll beat the french.
Definitely not. The French are a much more powerful squad than the English. We can beat England no problem but the French always kick our assess. No one messes with Chabal. I actually think the French will win quite comfortably against England. Had New Zealand played them it would have been cricket scores. England unfortunately rely too much on a kicking game.
The French are more than aware of their abilities as they are in the 6 nations. They played on our weaknesses, targeting O'Driscoll and Darcy, while leaving O'Gara to cock up as usual.
...I'll go with team france this time after all black lost!!

the only time i ever go for france and the bastards lose! damn johnny wilkinson. and argentina lost too. the two teams i didnt want to see in the finals are in it, oh well, i spose of the two of them... carn' south africa?
I am absolutely stunned by this world cup. It's been surreal. I cannot believe possibly one of the worst English teams ever to be in the world cup and one of the weaker teams in the world cup, got through to the final. Well all I gotta say despite it all good for them. I hope they win, but based on SA's performance against the Puma's I predict that England will be beaten. However, it REALLY is not gonna surprise me if they manage to beat the boks cause this world cup has been unbelievably surprising.

also this is the first evah final without Australia or NZ playing :O
You know what though Av, I gotta say that SA looked killer from the start of this WC based on their performances. I mean animal. NZ and Aus although strong were dissappointing (not as dissappointing as the crappola performances from Ireland. Ronan O'Gara you phail:D). I have to say though it looks like England have an almost impossible feat to conquer. SA are very very strong and whopped the Argintinians O_o
