I am one of 4 people on these boards that uses Opera! Currently using v8.54 because i don't like the Bittorrent intigration of 9.x.

IMO Opera > FF because:
- faster (both starting up and loading pages)
- has tabbed browsing too!
- has skins that go with my desktop theme
- better customization of interface so I can have a clean look, just the way i like (with the tabs on the bottom of my screen)

You can upgrade your Opera and disable to bittorrent intigration...

You have to go into your preferences -> advanced > Downloads > search torrent, and you can use your own Torrent program.

As somebody mentioned Firefox is more secure, and its frequently updated, unlike piece of shit Internet Explorer (No offense). Internet Explorer 6 is so outdated I wonder why Microsoft never even bothered updating or releasing more service packs for it. What also makes me wonder why Microsoft took so long to create Internet Explorer 7, like after, I don't know, 4-5 years since the release of IE6? ANd not to mention IE6 is vulnerable to spyware and lacks security features which is a main weakness of IE.

Yes I used it back when I was in year 7, 1998. It was an alright browser. And Netscape Communcator as well. Today its called Netscape Browser now right? Guess I made an error with the poll calling it "Netscape Navigator".

i use IE. For the reason of this, When i tried to open up a link in my Word document, it goes to IE instead of FireFox. I know most people hates IE but i'm use to IE. I'm not really a Firefox user =(

Has anyone like copy a link and paste it into word then open the link in word and then opens to the IE browser?

i don't relly on my browser to keep stuff out none of them will including firefox.

tracking cookies can be stoped easily enough but people don't use the settings or the anti spyware programs properly for the most part if you don't want something to enter your comp you know as well as i do there are plenty of ways to keep them out.

I use Mozilla Firefox (ver.1.5.0.9) (I do not wish to update) and Opera (ver.9.02. Both are great, fast and reliable. The cool thing about Opera is it does not close the tabs you have left open when you close the browser. Firefox is awsome for speed. Though both are fast, I find that Firefox is faster.

^^ I wouldn't bother with IE7. The layout sucks, most of the problems with IE6 exists in IE7 and believe it or not, I got spyware, so I didn't even bother with it. Stick to Firefox, its so much better.

And I like it how Firefox allows you to change themes so easily. I wish you didn't have to restart the browser just for it to take effect.

Firefox is becoming less safe due to popularity, but I use it anyway. I don't mind IE7, to tell you the truth, I just don't like the stupid tabs system in it. I'm just used to Firefox; I don't really like change. I would probably use Opera if I could get used to it. In some ways it's a superior browser. I dislike how Firefox takes up more and more memory as you use it, especially if you're a compulsive tab browser such as myself.

Theres a spell checker in version 2 iirc.

Firefox 2.0 has more new features. As mentioned, a spell checker when you type emails, reply to forum messages or type a message in some form box.

And each tab has a close function without going to the end of the tab toolbar just to close it.

And also, when your computer crashes while Firefox is running, you can restore the session without losing your work. Very nifty.

I was using Opera, but it kept crashing, so I sadly had to switch to Firefox. I just like Opera better for some unknown reason hidden in the depths of my mind.

Everybody who is using IE realized that IE is a piece of shit browser to they switched to Firefox, like me.

In other news, IE8 is in development, I wonder how will that turn out. I thought IE7 was just plain awful, I guess since Firefox 3 is coming out soon so Microsoft decided to compete with Mozilla I guess.

You never fully appreciate Firefox and it's nifty features and addons until you can't use them. I'm not a long time convert to the browser as it's only been a year or so since I started using it but I have to admit, there is no better. It could have better compatibility with some sites and embedded content but overall I love it as is.true, same thing here...it's like how you'd go crazy if suddenly there wasn't any water running in the house. no laundry machine, no dish washer, no more long hot showers...

FireFox. The new IE copies Firefox with tabs. Addition of tabs was probably the biggest change from IE that had me hooked... Plus I feel its faster.

I use Mozilla Firefox. Every time i use Internet Explorer it seems slower to me. We also have Opera installed and i just really don't like it XD

Mozilla seems to have everything IE has just only it's 10x times safer. So that's what I use. Some people call me a fanatic about Firefox, and they are probably right. But oh well, when it all comes down to the basics I see that my computer is the safest it can be on ths fantasy we like to call the inner nets.

Since I'm now running Ubuntu 7.10 (Operating System), I'm using Mozilla Firefox as default internet browser. Besides being faster, it's really safe and has a lot more graphic options than Internet Explorer (such as themes).

I prefer using Firefox over IE because of its customizability (lol not even a word) such as skins and awesome addons.

Opera is the browser I use most, precisely due to the convenience. Some of the additional features this program offers are very nice, although I have yet to actually employ usage of them. Apart from that one, Mozilla Firefox is my second choice. I find its services quite effective also.
