Go to google type in yahoo toolbar. Download that then put this in the adress bar. http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=en-us. Let it scan ur computer for updates. Express install. May take some time to download depends on speed of comp. When u download the service pack it will give ur comp more protection and eliminate pop ups. Also I would go download Spybot : Search and Destroy (removes spyware and adware). Also download the Sypware Beta on windows because it will help having two anti-spyware programs. If u want u should also purchase CCleaner and RegistryFix. These two speed up ur comp somewhat but not that important. If u have any questions message me.

The greatest problem with IE is that most users can't defend themselves when using it.

Yes it is. The interface is a lot like IE but it's more simplified. Easier to use if you ask me. Plus it doesn't hog as much system resources, which is always a plus...if you don't have a lot of RAM. ^-^"

i've been using it for a while now and i have no problems with any sites.........as long as you have all the plugins there shouldn't be any problems. Sometimes and this rarely happens, sites with Java menus don't display properly, but this rarely happens.

ok, sorry i didnt see this ealier, but yea, here is the firefox tweak

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!"


but just a warning, when you set max requests you may not want to set it at 30, because that basicly rapes the server that you are connecting too, so 5 or so would work just fine.

Opera. For many reasons, it nice and organized with Opera since you can choose to keep your windows open in the Opera window and continue next you open Opera without even having to worry about cookies much. Also in some cases, faster downloads too as to IE's processes of stuff that makes things slow.

I love my Firefox. I keep IE installed for those sites (surprisingly, lots of MS sites :p) that will not run in FF.

Hackers are turning their attention to Firefox so it wouldn't be as safe as you thought it would be. Of course, I'll use Firefox because its easier to use and they update it frequently, unlike IE, only one service pack and that came out in like... don't know, 2002?

Why Microsoft never bothered updating IE is way beyond. And IE7 could have been released a long time ago too.

I used to only use Internet Explorer, but I started using Firefox because I had to use it to go on this other forum I always go to.

To me, IE and FF doesn't seem any different from each other, so now I always use FF and only very rarely use IE.

But i think the best aspect of firefox are the extensions, i think everyone should try Adblock in order to block ads and images that are placed on a website

ya its safe if you like being told continuously about your settings being insecure unless you have them at Microsofts maximum defaults.

this issue will kill any chance people will retry IE.

Tried IE7 BETA, didn't like it. Hated the layout. Firefox works fine, doubt it I would use IE7 when its finished. But we'll see.
