More, more, more!
Over the past couple of days, we've had a wonderful response from some CB members who saved the Newsletter from being published once every two months.
I would like to give a warm welcome to our new reporters ~ Scorch777, diamondedge, Youko Makuyo, Pyramus, Priestess, JB Killa, Nicole and Icestorm32 ~ to the newsletter crew. And a big THANK YOU to the rest of the crew for helping us pull through <3
Also on this occasion, I'd like to congratulate Yukoshi_kin on receiving October's CBNL MotM title! <3
We're still on the lookout for promising reporters to help us compile good reading material for CB readers. Those who are interested can go to User control panel to Group memberships (http://forums.bleachportal.net/profile.php?do=editusergroups) and apply for a position at Club Bleach Newsletter.
Also from experience, let me please make it clear that CBNL is a serious group (as the Gotei 13 Divisions) and would appreciate if you think twice before selecting the group membership for reasons like 'you were bored' or 'felt like goofing around'.
Coming back to this newsletter issue, we hope you enjoy reading what we have to offer.
A strange highlight would be a peek into the editors' msn discussion on deciding a design for a userbar. We would like to warn you to not pay attention to the details as you read through :Haha
We also have a new addition to the newsletter, CBNL Cookery School, thought up by Pyramus! We plan to feature two mouth-watering recipes every issue and here's an idea, why not send us YOUR favourite recipes?
It can be anything from a simple snack to a traditional dish or just a refreshing drink. If possible, you can send us a picture of your creation and thus be featured as a contributor in the newsletter with all credit (and rep! :o) going to...YOU, of course!

The Artist Guild

There is a common thought, opinion if you wish to call it, which is shared throughout the Artist Guild that resides within CB.
Simple explained, it’s something on the lines of:
“I've always loved to draw, and paint and stuff” – Optimus Prime
The Artist Guild, which many already know of, is a CB community focused on learning and practicing traditional arts such as painting and drawing. Starting as a single thread made for Bleach fan drawings, and now becoming a large organization with a large membership number along with great skill, it has become one of the most known groups within Club Bleach as we know it.
Starting in 2005, the group was founded by BlazedSouls, a member at the time. His intent was on creating a group that enjoyed and frequently made Bleach fan art. Due to certain consequences, Fuoheru took the position as leader of the Artist Guild, forming it like the AG we know today.
Now, in 2007, Ios takes the helm as owner of the CB Artist Guild. The group focuses and prides itself on helping each other to become greater and better artists than the day before. They can easily be found, and are always welcoming new members to the ever expanding group.
Their success can only be shown by what you can see. With regularly held Sketches of the Week competitions, along with obvious and great improvements of all their members, we can only imagine what this league of artists can achieve next.

1. Tell me a short background about your past when you started to take up drawing/arts.
2. Do you think you have improved in many major aspects or drawing/arts in these past few years?
3. What can you say about your last SKotW (Sketch of the Week 10) entry, any comments or anything?

1. Well I started drawing since I was young, since I got bored most of my time :p..My dad was great at drawing, too, and I only drew anything except machines and people, cause they were too hard. Since I discovered anime, I drew people more and got used to them....but I'm still bad at machines XDD
2. Very much ^^. I would go to bookstores and just read how to draw manga books for hours XDD.
If you see my year 7 diary and compare the (first) people I draw and look at my recent ones, I say I've improved a lot. I still don't shad and colour my drawings though >_>...:p
3. Could've been better, but hey, it's my last term in my last school year so yeah. not too worried about the drawing. I actually decided to do the puppy cause that time I was just sick of drawing people too much with things about proportions and facial expressions and stuff XDD....yup..I'm lazy :p
Oh, and I want a tablet and graphic coloring skill like Cherlye..>_>...:p
4.Yes I very am. Cherlye (who won) pick love, so it would be interesting the different interpretations people will submit. I only wish I have time to participate though...I got exams in two weeks T____T..
But hopefully I can ^^;
1. I've always loved to draw, and paint and stuff. I started seriously drawing coz of art at high school, and I started to draw mangastyle coz of DBZ :D. Its just one of those things that when I'm doing it, I'm free from the world and nothing bother me :face82:
2. I think that through the help of people and their CnCing, especially in the artist guild, I am getting better slowly but surely. Like a couple of years ago, I could not draw proportionate anatomy for the life of me, but now I think I got a bit better.
3. It was called "Death of a Loved One" and I did it mainly for the story that Prodigy writes (MoonBlade). but I thought I'll enter it into the sketch of the week competition as well :D.
4. Yeah I am, we are up to #11 and the theme is love. so I did a soifonXyoruichi pic for it already but I don't know if I wanna enter something else :P and well have a special one coming up in August so be on the look out for it :D

1. Well, I started drawing when I was still at the elementary school and I noticed that I was better than the average kid my age at it, but it didn't really interest me back then. So up until 1.5 years ago I haven't drawn much and when I did, it was mostly reference drawings because that'd get the best results :)
So last year I found the first version of the artists guild here and it motivated me to draw again. I still drew only reference drawings because my own drawings still sucked. But after a while I wanted to draw just like the big guys from Deviant art so I started drawing my own things and I have been improving ever since.
2. Yeah, I have definitely improved a lot these years.
For example, THIS (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/35679385/) was one of my drawings at 7/2/2006 and THIS (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/59068476/) is what I can do today. So I guess you can pretty much see the difference in a years time.
3. It sucked. -_-"
I did learn from it though. It was a pretty good exercise for the human face, but still. I can't look at it anymore.
4. Yeah I am. I want to participate as much as possible in the SKotW because it's good practice to draw with a given theme. It reduces your inspiration a lot but it the trick to still make something cool out of it.

1. Um...I don't remember a time when I started to draw, I'd always been drawing. XD Though I can hardly call those ugly things 'art' back then...they were hideous :p
2. I think I've improved a LOT. I mean, from badly-proportioned stickmen to actual recognizable figures? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I learned a lot of stuff over the years :P I hope >__>;
3. Eh...well, my entry was really last minute, I'd been planning what sort of pose I wanted to create for it for quite some time...but when I was rushing it out on the day of the deadline, it turned out really different from what I had earlier imagined :P
4. I suppose...if I have the time... :<

The Many Types of Fangirls!

If you're a fangirl and proud of it, don't read this.
1) Regular Fangirl
Nothing special, these people find a character and love them, based on anything, hair, outfit, looks, attitude. Mind you the character is usually coveted by many other fangirls as well, causing an overall fuss over the character and just who he 'belongs' to.
The worst thing that can happen during an otherwise peaceful discussion is two fangirls fighting. You can defend yourself however, once you find yourself a good mod, hide behind them at all times until the fight is over.
2) Rapid Fangirl
What's worse than a Rangirl? A rapid one, fangirls who practically make a religion out of the worship of the character, how else do you think Haruhism was made?
They are also known to do short little actions with asterisks like *strips character* or *Makes out with Character* Mind you that you cannot make out with a character because they aren't real and are simply pixels on your TV screen.
Another sign is fanfics, if you read one and it just makes no sense at all, you know who wrote it.
3) Yaoi/Shounen Ai Fangirl
They dig two guys in a relationship, other than that, they are a normal fangirl.
4) Smart Fangirl
Every so often you come across a member who expresses their fandom calmly and intelligently. However rare this is, it can happen.
They usually make a long meaningful post as to why their fandom pwns yours, and it ends up making perfect sense. You'll feel like an idiot after you lose that argument as chances are, they are right.
5) Stupid Fangirl
These are the worst amongst the entire fangirl race, possessing even less intelligence than a hand cloth.
They will whine and scream until they get their way. Their grammar is usually substandard and they are sometimes known to spam on a forum.
At worst they are trolls who try to make you look stupid when in reality they are just digging a deeper hole for themselves. Ignore them and they'll go away.
Please note that this is not meant to offend anyone. It is only to make you chuckle.

Machinima --A new way to make films is rising!

For many years now, we have made films the conventional way. This has always cost people millions of dollars to produce even one film, with half of them turning out bad anyway! But not anymore! A new wave of film making has arisen. It is known as, Machinima.
Machinima apparently began back in the 1980s, when hackers would use certain parts of a video game and make it into a short film. These films had no plot however.
Disney then created a game called ‘Stunt Island’, which allowed players to create films by using built in cameras in the game. In 1993, Id Software’s ‘Doom’, allowed players to record game play, and replay it in real time. This allowed players to make their own films and share them with the Doom community. These films once again, had no plot.
Later down the line, Quake was created. Players used the new multiplayer function to create movies where they could control the players more freely and therefore create a better film. By this time, there was quite a big Machinima community. On October 26th 1996, the first Machinima film was born. A small Machinima group ‘The Rangers’ created it and the film was called ‘Diary of a camper’. This was the first Machinima to have a real storyline, rather than just the action and gore of the other Machinima.
This paved the way for the Machinima of today, which has decent and usually funny plot lines. When Quake 2 was later released, some editing tools were released with it. When a player added these onto the game, they would be able to edit their films better. However, all good things must come to an end, and when Quake 3 was released, the Machinima community had grown bored of Quake movies. They had moved on.
Today, Machinima is in high demand. There are several different companies, several different films, and even more money to be made! There are even yearly Machinima award shows. Several games are now used for the making of Machinima. Machinima was originally named Machinema, which was meant to stand for ‘Machine Cinema’. The ‘e’ was changed to an ‘i’ because it was meant to reference anime. Machinima has been filmed on several different games since Doom and Quake.

And many more!
One Machinima that I will talk about today is ‘RedvsBlue: the Blood Gulch Chronicles’. RVB was created by Roosterteeth Productions and first aired on April 1st 2003. RVB is made using the game Halo, and later on Halo 2. The general concept is two armies, the Red army and the Blue army, are fighting each other for control of a small canyon called Blood Gulch. This Machinima spanned 100 episodes, before ending with a spectacular finish. Certain parts of the plot are confusing, while others make you think. But some just make you split your sides with laughter! I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of good comedy!

So, what is Jet? Let’s just run down on the basics:
What are they? Music Rock Band
Genre: Pub/Garage/Hard Rock
Origin: Melbourne, Australia
Influences: AC/DC, The Easybeats, The Rolling Stones, S.O.S and lot more.
Still doesn’t ring a tune? In that case, have you ever heard of such songs as Are you gonna be my girl, Put your money where your mouth is or Look what you’ve done. And if you have, you’re one more step to knowing Jet.
So where did this group of Australia rockers come from? Think back, to the 80s where classic rock was considered kid. Now imagine two school kids, in love with their music. And that’s where it started. They’re names where Nicholas and Chris Cester. Born to an Italian father and a Scottish mother the two brothers grew up listening to classic rock from AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Queen and other famous bands of the time.
Initially Nicholas (nicknamed ‘Nic’) and his younger brother both played ‘pretend’ gigs in their bedrooms, where Chris became the imaginary drummer while Nic took over vocals. Then they met a childhood friend who was soon to become their main guitarist, Cam Muncey who attended the same school as Nic and Chris.
The group along with some friends they met in school started a high school rock band and named it after a song that was created and performed by the band Wings’. So Jet was officially formed in 1996 and even though they were constantly turned down and having a lack of recognition they persevered, and continued their rock career.
In 2002, the core members consisted of Nic and Chris Cester, their now longtime friend, Cameron Muncey and newly added bass player, Mark Wilson.
Their first release was an EP (Extended Play). The EP was called the Dirty Sweet EP and 1000 copies were produced for release. It showed a great demand and another 1000 were sold. With the running success, Elektra Records offered a contract to the 4-man band and they accepted.
Get Born was finally released as their first album, containing 2 songs that managed to reach popularity, Are you gonna be my girl and Rollover DJ. The album and their content provided a major boost for Jet’s popularity and it’s fan base multiplied many times. From it, they were nominated for seven awards in the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Awards; in which they won 6.
From there, Jet continued touring until 2006 where they released their second and so far latest album, Shine On. The album’s title came from a song of the same name in the album. Shine On, the song, was a tribute to Nic and Chris’s father who died of cancer during recording of the album.
From there, Jet’s popularity and fame increased, leading to an international tour. Although the tour was cut short due Nic gaining a bad case of laryngitis, an infection that causes the victim’s voice to be severely affected to a point of muteness. Despite this, the band was not stopped and came back by playing live for the MTV Europe Awards. Including coming back to Australia to play in the Make Poverty History concert in Melbourne.
Also, the band’s music has been shown in the popular Spiderman series. With Spiderman 2 and 3’s OST (Official Sounds Track) featuring two Jet songs, Move On and Falling Star respectively. The recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie’s soundtrack also featured Rip it up, a song that appeared in the Shine On album.
Jet is currently touring in exclusive shows in the UK and Europe, after completing a tour in Australia which was very successful.

She has been an editor for quite some time now and helped out with various sections of the NL. It's about time we recognised her efforts, contributions to the newsletter, and of course her wonderful personality <3
I'm proud to announce Yukoshi_Kin as this month's CBNL Member of the Month!

Tell us a little about yourself?
Uh. You tell me. Just kidding. *laughs*
Anyway, by username, anyone can call me, "Yukoshi" or "Yuko". There is one guy who called me, "Kin" and it's kind of strange to me. I call that, "Bizarre". You can call me also by my nickname, "Mel" and let's keep it this way.
My interests are photography, arts, theatre, media and literature (only poems, btw, hehehe.). In CB, I've participated in groups that relate to my current interests simply because I need improvement in my skills. Besides I'm still a part of 2nd Division Team, the groups that I participate in CB are Shutter Squad, Poetry Corner and (of course) CBNL.
I've been in Club Bleach for a year now. I'm glad that there are changes in this forum and I hope that it will be successful in the future.
What do you think of the CBNL now since the day you've joined?
I think it has progressed since the day I've joined. I remembered that time because it was an akward moment for me to participate - simply because I've joined CBNL [almost] at the end of that month. Then, after the release of the CBNL 1st Year Anniversary Issue, I decided to create, "The CBNL Gallery Section". I thought that this mini-project of mine won't work. I'm glad that it paid off. When the CBNL Gallery was released for the first time, I've read comments from people saying, "I like the pictures there." or something like that. I'm glad that they do and I'm very honored. On the other hand, new members are comming along and they have contributed their new ideas to make CBNL, "An enjoyable and a fun place to read".
What can we do to improve it?
I hope that the present and future members will contribute more and suggest new ideas because our readers deserve to know, "What's New?" in our monthly newsletter. That's it. :lol
Did you think you will be CBNL MotM? How do you feel to be nominated for CBNL Motm?
Apparently not.
And isn't it ironic the fact that I'm the CBNL MOTM this October Fest? *laughs*
Since I've got the position as the staff editor, I did not went through this on my mind to be one of the "CBNL MOTM" VIP list *laughs*. Just kidding. All of us here are VIP, aren't we? :winking56

we are full at the moment, we decided to go from the usual 20member list down to 12, my VC and myself and 10 members. it will make us more family based and more concentrated on contests. also everyone has a seat and works hard to be there

yup, im there right now, im in week 8 of 11 in my first term so finals are coming up, but all my classes are going very very well so i dont expect any trouble

well there are easy aspect and hard. alot of people see interior design as interior decorating, but they are 2 very different things. i go through alot of drafting training with house documents, like electrical plans, heating, space planing, lighting plans, and the codes that we need to be aware of and meet can be really ridiculous sometimes. for example on a recent test i had to memorize over

Homemade Easy-to-make Imitation Pizza

What you'll need
An oven/mini-oven/oven toaster (an oven-toaster would be the best out of the three)
Cheese (mozzarella preferably)
Bread (thick white slices)
Salsa (the type you can pick up at supermarkets)
What you need to do
1. Take out slices of bread. Usually 2-4 slices can feed someone enough to be 'nicely filled'. For a snack, 1-2 would be ideal.
2. Use a table spoon to take out salsa. Experiment with brands and types. Chunky-Mild tends to work best in my opinion.
3. Spread it evenly on ALL the bread. Layering it on the crust is optional. Make sure it isn't slathered on it. A nice, thin layer of the salsa is good. Too much and it'll start soaking through the bread.
4. Sprinkle cheese on top of salsa. The amount really depends on how much you love cheese. I usually put on tons of it, where as friends of mine put a lot less. Entirely up to you.
NOTE! If you put the cheese too much to the edges of the bread, when you start 'cooking' it, the cheese may flow to the tray and cause it to stick to it.
5. Place it on a tray and place it in the oven/oven toaster. If you're using an oven put it on 75-125 degrees Celsius (167-257 Fahrenheit) for roughly 5 minutes. If you're using the preferable oven-toaster, usually the heats are standardized, so try 5 minutes. If needed, longer.
NOTE! If you put it in the oven at above 100 or in the oven-toaster for longer than 8 minutes, check regularly as not all ovens are the same and it may take shorter than instructed times.
6. Wait and make sure the kitchen doesn't burn down.
7. Take out, if you've done it right, the cheese and salsa haven't overflowed and you haven't burnt it. If so, then use tongs or the proper utensils to place it on a plate. If you HAVE burnt it, then you may want to redo it. If you HAVE caused the salsa/cheese to overflow and it's now stuck on the tray, try your best to remove it. Remember to be gentle.
8. Eat and silently thank Scorch for sharing such a beautiful dish.

Note: This is more or less a North Indian snack that Bangladeshis also make. Also please note that it takes time a long time to make it.
Ingredients:
1 cup black gram lentils - washed, soaked for 3 hours and ground to a fine paste by adding little water
2 pieces of grated ginger
2-3 green chilies finely chopped
2 cups thick fresh non-sour curd
4 cups water
2 table spoons cumin seeds - slightly roasted and ground to a fine powder
Oil for deep frying
Red chili powder to taste
Salt to taste
[Garnish] Chopped coriander leaves
[Optional] 1-2 table spoons chaat masala (sour curry powder)
Method
1. Wash the black gram lentils and soak them for about three hours, then grind it into a fine paste by adding little water.
2. Mix the paste with the grated ginger, chopped green chilis and salt. The result is known as batter.
3. Pre-heat oil in a deep frying vessel. In the meantime, take a little batter onto your palm and mold it into a small oval shape (something like like a donut without a hole) and drop it into the hot oil (note: dropping it into hot oil from a distance is dangerous as it can spill on you so place the balls into the vessel slowly). Deep fry on medium heat for sometime and then fry on high heat till golden brown.
4. Next take the deep fried ovals (vada) and put it into a bowl of lukewarm water and keep them soaked for about 15-20 seconds. Remove it and gently press between your palms so that excess water oozes out. Keep them aside.
5. Finish making vadas with the rest of the remaining batter and put them in water like you did for the earlier batch, remove excess water and keep aside.
6. Beat the curd well till it's frothy (as in till there are no lumps) and add water, red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt.
7. Place the vadas in a serving bowl and cover them evenly with the curd mixture.
8. Chill the vadas in the fridge (NOT FREEZER) for sometime before serving.
9. During time of serving, place the vadas in a serving plate, sprinkle some chaat powder, and garnish with coriander leaves and tamarind chutney. Enjoy the tangy-sour taste!

Well that's a tough choice really... I like them both for different reasons...Summer is good because you have all the good looking people walking beaches half naked. ;-)
Winter is good because of all the winter sports like snowboarding and figure skating... I like winter because when it comes time to have the Winter Olympics They're more fun to watch, mainly because bike races and relays bore me. The Volleyball and the Diving can be cool but I think in the end I'd have to pick... ...
Winter... I enjoy the Winter Sports more than those in the Summer, and there's the inherent romantic bonus to the winter... Its winter so its obviously cold and when you're cold you can cuddle for warmth! Cuddling for the win! lol

I really like winter.. The reason has always been that I have this perhaps unnatural fascination with rain. It gives you that cozy feeling when you crawl into bed at night and listen to the thudding on the roof and sometimes ill sit idly and watch it.. In the rain or from outside. Lastly.. It gives me an excuse to sit inside all day.. which I kinda do anyway.. but I like the darkness that winter brings :D.

Ok cool well first off I'm happy to have been one of the random members you picked and to answer your question, I live in the Caribbean. There is no winter lol, just 365 of sun, heat and more sun. Tourists love the weather because the sun here is nice there are no huge buildings. Pollution in the air is at its lowest in these regions. But we do have a summer here and to me that's the best season. We have our annual carnival here which is off the chain and then with this celebration there are the girls that come for summer..O lord the girls.
Summer is the time when all the major parties happen and I spent a summer in NY once and it's all the same lots of girls, parties and things to do. So I would prefer summer over winter any time.
Now winter hmmmmmm. I've been in winter twice - once in NY and the other in Toronto. It was nothing like when I was growing up in the Caribbean watching Disney channel lol. There was no snow man, no snow angels and snow ball fights were limited due to heavy snow. So summer is the better season more things can be done and more girls can be seen.

I lived a majority if life in one of the most northern states in the US, and grew up loving the winter, before moving the bottom of the US, where it never snows. It may also be symbolic to my pessimistic view on life, since winter represents the end of life, the death and the soliloquy of life.

I REALLY enjoyed it, but is it possible to add more comedy? I mean it's cool and all, but being a new user, I don't really get some of the stuff, know?
Hey, have some suggestions, mostly cosmetic:
+ Logo for the newsletter
+ 2nd post should be contents page, with links to jump to whatever article (post) you want to read
+ Header images for regular sections (member interviews, anime or manga reviews etc) would look cool
- Less interviews. A few are okay, when you get 3 or so in the same section, about no particular topic, feels like padding and less people read them all
Great work and dedication though, hope I don't come off as mean sounding, CBNL really is a good idea and I enjoy reading it. Would be nice if newer members could be attracted to reading it >< Hope I could help anyway :)
