View Full Version : Mod-powers question!!

So, I have mod powers over two sections, and thank GOD I haven't used them to increase or decrease warning! I just have enough sense to NOT use it unless it is necessary. As it has been made somewhat clear in the appeals found in the warning section, I was wondering if some of the SMods and Admin and C46 ppls would mind telling us EXACTLY what we can and can not do.

For instance, if a member were to spam to Poetry Corner (which I mod) do I have the right to give a warning (let's say... a +10% or +5% warning) if I have asked them to stop and they continue?

I just want this to be clear. There is no need for anyone to be able to say "Well, I didn't know it was against the rules!?" And while a lot of it is common sense, I really want to know where the line is drawn.

Thanks a lot!

If the mods and other staff members wont mind I will like to contribute to this question.
So far if you are an owner of an FC or user group the best method is to advice the person who is breaking the rules. If the violation of the rule is a minor one you can give a verbal warning first. If there is a second one then you can report them to C46 or the administration for proper punishment.
As far as I understand only mods, s-mods and admins are allowed the used of the warn meter. Although we have access to it is not permitted to us to use it. So far as part of the Shinigami Academy we got a system of warning. recurring to the staff as a last resource if the user does not comply with our warnings or advice.
I hope this helps toasty

The warn meter mod was removed because it meant that anyone who was a moderator due to having bought a usergroup for their bleach character fanclub or whatever could reduce their own warning level and increase other people's warning levels, which obviously led to problems. Warn using a good old text-based system from now on
The normal mods have a system that allows us to report the "problem people" in the staff section and for what reason they have been warned. Once they've been reported a certain amount of times, or if we deem their actions to be bannable, they will be banned.

ie, Toasty: You don't have to worry about the warn meter anymore :)
