Mere Memories

It used to be so easy
Carefree was everything all the time.
No need to worry about it,
So simple just to be me.

There were lots of friends
And we could play whenever we felt
Or at least when we were allowed.
Never thinking about when it ends.

Growing up has snuck up on us,
Lurking in the shadows through the years.
Taking away fun and wonder so we could change
And leaving the stress and fuss.

It's all we've known and it's gone so fast,
Fading in the distance as we stride forward.
Childhood becoming mere memories
We face our lives at last.

Based on my leaving elementary school, when all my best friends went to different high schools except 2. Corny and and too sappy, I know

I like it, it has the sense of growing up, and how childhood is carefree yet fun X3

good, brings memories, but the transition from rhyme to regular was poor.
