is it better to show parents the true self, even if that self is not what they want to see or would it be best to show them what they want, and foverever lie to them?

depends on how teh parents deal with it...if they absolutly dont want you to be who you are, like to a sense to where they yell at you all the time..them you should lie :/
but iunno...my parents dont care...who i am..i am who i am >_o that sounded corny meh......

for me, my parents want me to be the ideal asian.
its not hard for me to act the part, but i feel that if i pretend in front of them i loose the connection we have. but if i am myself -> lazy procrastinator i get into dirty confrontations with my parents

my dad only moved bak to this country like a year ago after 13 years away and he still doesn't live with me. My mom and i don't really interact much so she doesn't really know who i am and i guess i don't give her an opening to find out more. My family life is screwed a tad...
