Okay guys and gals, I thought I'd try something new and I got the demo of the new Stuntman game labelled "Stuntman: Ignition" It won't be too in-depth due to only having 3 levels but I'll give it a shot.

My first play of Stuntman: Ignition: I was really impressed with the main, easy to navigate, up to bottom choice of Tutorial (A video that showed you the basics of the game, what the icons on the HUD meant like the drifting and other gameplay orientated elements), 3 levels, Laval Flow, Escape and On Ice to choose from, all around 20mins long I found with mess ups on my first play, controller to show you the basics of the buttons and how to play the actual game, so it's always good to know what do press instead of the controls appearing while a loading screen that lasts 10 seconds comes up without enough time to read the damn thing.

When a level loads it has a commentary explaining how the level will be played, once it loads you can skip it or wait and let it finish. Once it loads you will be greeted by 3 options, "Play, Options and Exit" all are pretty obvious but once clicking options I found something interesting. It had the controller in the list of 3 but two new options to choose from. Audio and Gameplay.

Audio is self explanatory but gameplay lets you turn off thrill cams, auto reverse of cams while reverse driving in the cat, arrows, hide hud, steering to make it more sensitive (75 by default) Force Feedback, not really sure what that does, maybe something to do with the vibration of crashes and other various bits. And of course good old brightness.

On the menu to choose from the 3 options "Play, Options and Exit" there is a score card to the left, stating what you need to get in order to get so many stars, 15,000 to get 1 star, 50,000 to get two, 100,000 to get three, 180,000 to get four stars and "String It!" which is obviously perfect, no mess ups or what have you which is five stars.

Also on this screen is the "RB EASY MODE" which allows you to have additional mistake strikes so you don't accidentally start off then fail. But it also cuts your final score in half so it's best to play on "Easy Mode" first to get a better view of the whole track and then aim for the high score.

(Easy Mode also allows you to finish the track even if you get all the strike points and fail)

Let's get onto the actual game play.

Once starting a level the old "3, 2, 1 ACTION" cue like in the old Stuntman games will start to countdown and once it his "Action" it's great, the graphics are so smooth the framerate honestly feels like it's stable at 60 no matter what, it's incredibly smooth. Everything looks amazing. You're ordered to hit objects, go through gaps, near miss to cars, swerve around cars like in the old ones but this time, it's a lot easier due to it not being all skippy with the old Playstaion limits to their game engines. The steering can be a little hard to get used to, but once you feel like you've mastered it, there's no stopping you.

One major role in this game is the whole Havok Physics engine, explosions sends cards and debris flying, one thing that REALLY got me laughing was when playing the "On Ice" mission, I accidentally ran into a guard that was shooting at me, but to my surprise of instead of going through him, I drove into him and knocked a ragdoll all over the place, I kept running people over. It was so much fun!!!!

After finishing a level you get 3 options "Play Again, Instant Replay and Exit" also a score card to the left saying how many points you got, stars you got ect, ect.

All in all, a fun game to play, can be difficult and frustrating sometimes but well worth the money if you enjoyed the Stuntman series.

Oh yeah, and there's 50 single player levels. Aswell as 25 different cars to drive, stunt constructor (Sounds hella fun), custom built multilayer arenas where you can fight opponents and play stunts they have made.

Hope you enjoyed reading my review of Stuntman: Ignition. Stay tuned next time for another game review courtesy of "Tobi".
