okay if you want to make AMV from Windows Movie Maker (WMM) here is a tut for you.

also if a mod or admin can sticky this?

1. open WMM if you have it

2. file>New Project (not really needed if have an old project in WMM)

3. importing a video from your files importing (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/import.jpg)

4. when you import a video in take a while for it to create clips so be patient
it may look like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/creatingclips.jpg)but do not hit cancel button or it will stay as one big clip. now a few minutes later it will start creating clips here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/patience.jpg) this what it will look like when you are done here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/clips.jpg)

5. Drag and Drop - select your clips that you want and drop them in the video area same goes for music, but the music part goes in Audio/video part drag and drop (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/draganddrop.jpg)
if you don't want any sounds from the video at all you can click the plus sign that I have circled and right-click and hit mute (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/mute.jpg)

6. cool effects and transitions - if you want effects (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/videoeffects.jpg) and transitions (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/videotransitions.jpg) in the AMV your are creating just click on one and play it, it will not mess with your video, once you have selected your effect/transition drag it to the video clips you want and it will play in your video if you can also preview it in your video and the remove by going to Edit>Undo Change Effects. Now if later on in the video that you do not want the effect/transition go to the video clip and right-click and hit Video Effect and and a menu will pop up and the effect/transition that you have choosen hit the remove button and it will be removed.

7. Music - now it time for some music yay! just like the video importing but you can select your music where ever you have it here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/vejita/music.jpg)

8. titles and credits - hit Makes titles and credits on the side either choose add title for the beginning or the end, when you select your title another page will show where you can enter your credits, change the font and color, change animation or whatever when your are done click done and it will appear where ever you want it.

I hope this was helpful to you all try to mess around with WMM i hope to see your AMVs! :redbiggri

Also you may have to do some editing just to get your video perfect

Woah!! I should have been here two years ago and I would have had my video done up!! I was saving up to get Vegas 5.0 but instead, Windows Movie Maker would have been better had I known this!! Thank you so much kurosaki190!! I'm gonna get started next Monday (my only day off but at least I got something to do other than sit around and wait for something to come along to entertain me. LOL)

Cheers,
Ichikisu

lol no offense to owner of this thread and everyone else but using Windows movie maker is simple and VERY easy to use. I never used a tutorial, I just toyed around and knew what to do in a matter of minutes. WMM isnt the best out there tho considering the fact ive seen great videos with awesome effects WMM doesnt have. I have yet to find one yet cause Im too lazy to search =P

Can someone tell me how to take the voice, backround music and stuff out of the clip?

Figured it out.

Now I need help with something else, I try to import an episode into the programme, but it says its not valid or corrupted. I know for a fact that its not corrupted because ive watched all those episode and stuffs.

Anyway, love the tut. =) Thanks alot.

You know when you wanna take a clip to put in your AMV out of another clip, how do you that?

I mean..lets say theres a scene I want to put in my AMV, but theres bits of the anime after that scene, but I can only drag the whole scene into the timeline thing. I want to know how to take away the bits after the anime scene I don't want so I can put the scene I want into the AMV.

^ I hope it makes sense, and please help.

Edit: Never mind.

the real bother about this program is that is DOES NOT ACCEPT ALL MEDIA TYPES...for example you can't use real one media on it...

How do you take the background music out of a clip? I still want the voices in the AMV at certain points, but I want the BG music out. Also, how do I adjust the vloume of the music/clip at certain points, the only option I can find is for the volume for the entire AMV.

You can mute the bg music in adobe premiere pretty easily. Its a very hard application to learn though. I dont think it can be done in Windows Movie Maker.

Well, it took me long enough, but I finally figured out how to get some clips with audio and some without it during a AMV with movie maker. What you do is start a new project and import all the clips you want without audio into a time line then set the audio level all the way to music track, so there is no audio for the clip itself. Now save the project, when you open it up again in movie maker, the clips wont have audio, quite simple in the end actually =)

I recommend Adobe Premiere Elements as a good balance between ease of use and functionality - I actually bought it because at the time I didn't have a fast internet connection :(

You need to upload it somewhere. Try http://www.animemusicvideos.org/home/home.php. I'm not positive that they host on their servers though...you may need to host it on your own web space.

I'll give adobe premiere elements a try, but I also heard of this program called Adobe after effects which looks pretty good. I think you have to be proficient at video editing before you can use it though.
