Favorite Shinigami Captain?

Byakuya (he'll always be my No 1 favorite, sorry), Ukitake (I love his chivalrous demeanor), Shunsui (my idol), and Gin (cool, creepy, mysterious).

Ok... I was looking back through the old threads and this one was there, so I thought I might update it. Warning! May be veeeeerrrrryyyyy looooooooong :winking56

My rundown on the captains:

1st Division Captain: Yama-jii - He somewhat annoys me... just the way he speaks and everything (as well as his personality). He looks like an old man but did you see that ripped body? *shudders* Would've been hotter if it was someone else... :rolleye09 I like his zanpakuto too - love fire. Not my favourite captain but I don't despise him (maybe just a little bit, hehe). He also follows the rulebook too much. Just break a little Yama-jii.

2nd Division Captain: Soi Fong - No offense to anyone, but the first time I saw her I thought she was a lesbian (she seemed to be so in love with Yoruichi)... but I know she only idolizes Yoruichi... hopefully... I also like her zanpakuto (Sting all enemies to death!) - very powerful, and she's mastered it well.

3rd Division Captain: Ichimaru Gin - Gin, Gin, Gin... what can I say? This guy is cool and mysterious. But he is evil! Evil, you hear!? However, I still think he has a heart - he did apologize to Matsumoto after all... I believe that he will turn his back on Aizen... but may be killed by him... dunno - just a theory - he fights Matsumoto (while Aizen is watching) but then they start talking and all and he realises what he is doing is wrong and when he turns around, he is stabbed by Aizen. Just a theory though.
That grin on his face makes me want to grab his cheeks and form them into some other expression. I always wonder what he is thinking. He seems like a nice person, but doesn't show any emotion while talking (and keep in mind Rukia said it felt like snakes were wrapping around her while they were talking). His voice is cool too. So mysterious. And quite it's cute. :winking56 His zanpakuto is also nice. It's good because it can extend from quite a distance and attack multiple opponents.

4th Division Captain: Unohana Retsu - I have nothing against her. Well, what should I have against her anyway? She's kind and caring. She is very polite and uses honorifics when addressing everyone. Her zanpakuto is cool too. Looks like a sting-ray kind of thing but it can heal many people in its stomach so that's quite handy.

5th Division Captain: Aizen Sousuke - "Aizen-taicho" quote Hinamori. *sighs* We all fell in love with him, this soft spoken man. Don't lie... but we were all tricked by him as well... He's very smart (a good thinker) and is very powerful... He probably is one of the strongest captains there is and arguably one of the most powerful in Bleach. He's probably mastered all four skills: swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, footwork and demon arts. What do I hate about him? Apart from the fact that he betrayed everyone, manipulated everyone, and being the bastard he is - he is EVIL! I think Ichigo is the one who will kill him. He's got some sort of alliance or something with the Hollow world which proves he is very powerful.
He is actually hot (here I go again)... hehe... What I hate is his arrogance. That he claims he will be on top of everyone. His zanpakuto is one of the strongest in Bleach. Very powerful and the hypnosis technique is very powerful as well (and it's cool).

6th Division Captain: Kuchiki Byakuya - My beloved and SEXY husband... yum.
Byakuya's zanpaku-to.
It just looks the best and is very powerful. What I like about it is that his blade scatters ("Chire, Senbonzakura") into thousands of tiny blades which look like cherry blossoms. So pretty. And they're all controlled by him.

Yup, I love his zanpakuto. Love the cherry blossoms and it is powerful too.
But what I hate about him is how he acts like in an aristocrat manner (hehe learning about the French Rev at the mo). By that I mean being apathetic towards everyone. His voice also annoys me but I find it so smooth and sexy. hehe
What I love about him is that he came back for Rukia and saved her. That was really unexpected (after all, he lost to Ichigo). I was really happy that he told Rukia the truth and that he broke the laws again to save her (and for Hisana). Now the looks... *drools* What mroe can I say?

7th Division Captain: Komamura Sajin - Uhh... nothing much to say here. I feel sorry for him because he was good friends with Tousen but Tousen betrayed him, as well as everyone else. His zanpakuto is somewhat similar like Ichigo's (releasing spiritual power as an attack). No other comments...

8th Division Captain: Kyouraku Shunsui - lazy and doesn't enjoy violence... laidback and somewhat gentle. He also drinks sake... sake anyone? *offers sake to people around*
As a captain, I see him as a very powerful person although he does tend to talk his way out of things. He's also very flirtly and likes to chase women. He's also Ukitake's close friend and I like their friendship. I also like his zanpakuto(s) - two sort of katanas. I would also like to see what (or if) his bankai is like. Oh and I almost forgot! Who could forget, "Lovely, Nanao-chan..." I also love his relationship with Nanao (or "my Nanao-chan). lol

9th Division Captain: Tousen Kaname - What I like about him is that even though he is blind, he is a powerful shinigami (he was a captain afterall). But why do I not like him? It's got something to do with Aizen and Gin... ah that's right! He betrayed everyone! What I hate is how much justice he has... I think that his shikai is cool. When Suzumushi "cries" and makes people fall unconcious. His bankai is alright. The black dome that he creates is very effective which makes the opponent lose their sense of sight, hearing, smell, and the ability to sense spiritual pressure. Now that's something. Only thing is that the sense of touch is still there. Just look at how Zaraki nearly beat him (well, logically did beat him).

10th Division Captain: Hitsugaya Toushiro - He is so cute! lol, and quite hot. He's interlectual and is the youngest to become captain in generations - boy genius. However he is young but doesn't have much humour. I also like his relationship with Matsumoto as he tries to maintain it as 'professional' (but Matsu gets drunk and sleepy eh? lol). He also has to end up with Hinamori. They are just ment to be. However I don't think he will kill Aizen. But he may die trying to protect Momo or whilst fighting for honour. I also like his zanpakuto as it is an ice dragon which is very powerful and looks cool too.

11th Division Captain: Zaraki Kenpachi - I love his relationship with Yachiru! "Ken-chan!" Love it! If we were to see Yachiru and Zaraki standing next to each other (and we didn't know there relationship), would you ever think that these two were really close?
I like his hair. Looks wicked. What I like about him is that he literally feels no pain. What I like is that he doesn't really care who wins or loses in his fights but cares about the joy of the battle itself. Sounds mental, but that's genuine. It's not really that I don't like him for it, but he hasn't achieved bankai (nor shikai). He's only focusing on his strength. But what bugged me was that he didn't like fighting with some sort of ally... well, it was just the way he said about his zanpakuto and all that they are useless, etc (forgive me - scruffy memory).

12th Division Captain: Kurotsuchi Mayuri - I HATE this guy! :sad:
Not bothered to type it all out so I'll just quote:
Mayuri! He's a disgusting freak... hate this "mad scientist" to death.
And I absolutely despise this guy! He killed his own men and used them as human-like bombs to capture Orihime and Ishida!
And he treats Nemu like crap! He's probably abused and mistreated her in every possible way. But I feel sorry for Nemu because she has great loyalty towards Mayuri. But he's just a bastard.
Hate him. Hate him. I hate him.
Even if he ends up saving everybody, I'll still hate him.

13th Division Captain: Ukitake Juushiro - he is probably the most kind-hearted captain out there. He's honest, loyal and believes in his personal sense of justice - probably why he is respected by most people around him. He's also Shunsui best friend. Again, his zanpakuto is a paired one. However he cannot fight for a long time - due to his illness... I still want to know what it is and how or when he got it...

So overall... I would say that my favourites are Byakuya, Ukitake, Hitsugaya and Ichimaru.

I haven't double checked those blocks of text up there in my post, so if anything's wrong, correct me. I'm tired and sleepy... *yawn* better get going now...

I forgot to say Kenpachi, too, he's always been one of my favorites cuz of his freaking hair. He's even a fair fighter, he handicapped himself when he fought Ichigo. And, again, if you count assistant captains I think that his assistant captain was pretty cool, too. I can't remember her name, though. If I was gonna take a swing at it, I'd say it was Yachiru. (Ichigo didn't exactly WIN. It's just that he's the only fighter there, besides Yachiru that escaped with his life... at least, that's my opinion)

My favorite is probably Zaraki. One of the best fight scene in Bleach thus far. He's badass, unrelenting, and can still grow in power. Hopefully they'll give him bigger, more important roles in the future.

Hitsugaya is probably my 2nd favorite. Just cuz he's cool. Not all that powerful but I still like him.

Ukitake and Kyouraku are tied for 3rd. Mostly because I never got to see them REALLY fight yet. They definitely need bigger roles.

I've always really liked Ichimaru's character, how he carries himself and his accent. Very very smooth and almost teasing in how he talks to people. Espically his first appearance with Zaraki and Byakuya.

Ichimaru: "Sorry Mr. 6th Squad Captain, unlike my friend here I have no intention of making you angry today."
Zaraki (In the background): DAMNIT ICHIMARU, LET ME GO, LET ME CUT HIM UP!

I think that's from the Anime though, since Zaraki's screaming to Byakuya for permission to kill Rukia in the manga.

I'm with the handful of people that have Kyouraku Shunsui. I love how his vice-captain is so strict and about doing work and Kyouraku is the exact opposite. Nice little balance there between captain and vice-captain. Unohana is second, even though her vice-captain is very uneventful and just sits there.

However, I absolutely despise Soi Fong. She annoys me to no end. Mayuri is just creepy, so no to him too.

My favorite vice-captain (since a lot of you are putting it out there) has to be Matsumoto. I thoroughly enjoy her shikai (you have no idea how bad I want to see her ban kai. no idea). Renji is a close second, just because his bankai is the KING of baboons-- the freaking BABOON KING.

I read the whole thread up this post, and people like Hitsugaya, Kenpachi, and Kuchiki Byakuya the most, no idea why though.

As a current captain, i would have to say Jushiro Ukitake, followed closely by Komamura, but my favourite captain of all time would have to be Kisuke Urahara! Go Sandal-Hat!

There are quite a few captains I like...

Hitsugaya is definitely up there, his shikai is comparable in size and manner of most other peoples bankai. And he's also still just a kid. Classic anime good-tempermented sub-hero... good things all around.

Ukitake is also a favorite. Unfortunately the only fighting we have on display is in rukia's history with Kaien. We never actually get to see him fight with Yamamoto. I think the long incantation for Zanpakuto release implies a powerful sword (swords). Very good character as well, not afraid to stand up for what he knows is right, *cough* *cough* Byakuya *cough*.

And if we are doing anyone who has been a captain... OBVIOUSLY everybodies favorite shop owner Urahara Kisuke. check out his bankai topic... I have studied him in deapth and actually started a bit of a fanfic a while back with him as the main character. I don't even have to talk about why he's a favorite.

Lastly Kurotsuchi Mayuri... If he wasn't just so darn evil all the time he'd own. Probably looks cooler than any other bleach character when he doesn't have his clown suit on. Mayuri is also in my fanfic as Kisuke's Leiutenant.

I have to say the ones i find most entertaining are Ichimaru Gin and Maryur Kurotsuchi cause of their naturally sadistic dispositions and dry sense of humors.

However though lately i've grown fond of Byakuya Kuchiki because of the Shinigami cup at the end of the episodes he actually makes jokes and stops being such a lame ass with the rule book stuck up his ass. So he's growing on me. xD

Shunsui. Not exactly because his power, which hasn't been shown, but out of all the characters his personality mirrors mines the most. Theres not really a second person who I like that much.

If I had to choose though it would be Unohana. Its just something about that woman that reads powerful. I also like how everone recognizes her as "mom" as well. I tend to like the characters that aren't to overrated.

After that, out of the pool of total Captains we have including past ones.. I would add Ichimaru, Yoruichi, Shinji to group B of my favorite Captains, and then Urahara, Soi Fong, Love, Rose, Kensei, Tousen, Ukitake, Shunsui, and Unohana as Captains I like but aren't necessarily my favorite. I can't really say I care for the others that much.

Of course my fav. character is the legendary Senpai Unohana Retsu. The most kind, scary, and skilled member of the 13 divisions.

My second favorite character is Kuchiki Byakuya because he has good style, his technique is flawless, and of course Senbonzakura Kageyoshi is the COOLEST bankai ever. One of the best techniques i've ever seen in any manga period. So beautiful yet deadly. If i had a bankai it would be his.

She also keeps her composure very well somehow. Even through all the chaos about Aizen back in SS, she was one of the few people who remained completely calm.

He's strategic in battle, a master scientist who altered his own body, has such a unique (and, I believe, awesome) style. Even his new one that makes him look Egyptian =D though I still do like his original style the best. He has a poisonous and interesting zanpakuto that seems fairly different from most, he condones perfection, has a really cool voice and personality, and... got me saying "ho?" all the time now >>

Well we still haven't seen any of Shunsui in action. So only time will tell. It could easily depend on the user who is using Kendo. Kendo itself isn't necessarily this all powerful technique, It would depend on the persons power. Like for instance would Hitsugaya using kendo match Zaraki's? I highly doubt it.

We still don't know what double wielding swords can do, for all we know it could be an exact counter to kendo giving a definate advantage, or it may not. We only got to see the releases of it.
