No way Kenpachi would beat Ichigo with ban kai, keep in mind when Ichigo defeated him, he did so without Ban Kai. Later on Ichigo trains to learn ban kai so I doubt anything would change. Plus Ichigo stopped that huge pheonix thing, gotta give up for that

Ukitake Juushirou (13th captain) and Kyoraku Shunsui (8th division) to me they are the most interesting Shinigami, plus they have the only twin zanpakuto which is a feat IMO; sure Hitsugaya is cool, but these two rank way beyond the others(yes even byakuya)

Yeah byakuya already explained the reason for why he was going to kill Rukia and I think it was 165 some where around there. For thos who want a quick and short answer here it is: He said that he was going to kill her because he is a noble and he has to stick to the tradition of what soul society says, also as a noble he has to be the one to set an example for the rest of the people in society, if everyone just went around doing what they felt it wouldnt be good. So even though it was his sister that was about to be executed there was really nothing he could do about it because he is one that is accustomed to following the rules. I wonder if byakuya is still alive?

I dont have a favorite captain I like alot of them: byakuya, hitsugaya, aizen, gin, shunsui, kenpachi, and jyuushiro.

No, I read theirs for no particular reason really. I just thought they were the only ones who had released so far except for bleachremix but they skipped a few chapters and released only 168-169, right?

How can you say his Bankai is awesome? He uses it and it gets beaten within 2 seconds. Hitsugaya is about as cool as a shoebox-hatstand crossbreed IMO and it amused me to see him get such a clobbering :p:

Well, that isn't exactly correct. Toushirou was the one who got beat, not his bankai. He didn't get the chance to use it. Kyouka Suigetsu allowed Aizen to get right up to him and slash him through the chest. The same thing would probably happen with every other captain except for Yamamoto (giving him the benefit of the doubt based on experience) and Tousen (who can't see a thing anyway). As Byakuya said, a shinigami's bankai won't be able to maintain itself if its user is mortally wounded. That's why I love the soul slayer I used as my name. It is so cheap.

Two are my favorite captains.

The one is Zaraki Kenpachi. This guy is incredibly strong. He has the strenght and stamina to put up with two captains(actually with one, he didn't fight Komamura to the end), he defeated Tousen's bankai, and he did all these without even a shikai!

The other is Kuchiki Byakuya. I love his style. He has a cool attitude and combinated with the tone of his voice he sends you the message "You want to mess with me?! Please don't make me laugh.". He has also the strongest zanpakuto I've seen (the best shikai and bankai in Bleach)

Excluding Urahara very likely the most mysterious character in Bleach and for myself he seems to be the defining character in Bleach, most (OK, basically all) of the other characters fit neatly into the preset archetypes that plague all animes, Ichimaru is somewhat wierd though, initially it seemed he was going to be portrayed as the total anti-hero, the bad guy so bad that a redeeming quality is unimaginable, but then he started doing nice stuff and I was somewhat perplexed. Then of course there was the whole issue of Aizens' "death", it seemed that Gin was so overwhelmingly obviously the culprit that it clearly wasn't him (Wierd logic, but I'm guessing you can follow, it's a traditional trick, the gruff seeming guy ends up having the heart of gold and the cheery goody-goody person is actually handing out poisoned candy to the kids and helps old ladies halfway across the road then runs away as the truck comes) and then of course the revelation that Aizen was a baby-eating psycho and Ichimaru actually was a badguy, at this point I'm like "WTF? Soooo CONVOLUTED" and then just when Clark Kent and Co. were making their getaway he turns and gives Matsumoto the wierd puppy-dog face treatment then vanishes. It's got to be the most random twists involving a single character since the last Coronation Street Christmas special, the only thing missing was that his long-lost brother didn't turn out to be a female dog dressed as a male sperm whale dressed as his brother. Oh yeah, and his brother (That is, the dog) was also a clone.

Basically for me, in many ways, Ichimaru Gin is Bleach.

I'd say my favourite is Ichimaru Gin, purely because he's so damn complex. I dig the way he's amoral at the beginning of the series so willing to hurt others regardless of the consequences , and then gives Matsumoto a love sick puppy look (the only times he's not grinning is when he's near Matsumoto, has anyone else noticed?).
