the games are japanese-heavy....but you don't actually NEED to know it to go through menus and such. the gameplay is straight-forward, but this game doesn't even hold a candle to the likes of Tekken Dark Ressurection.

although as a whole the HtS games are fun, if not for the gameplay itself......it's more-so the fan-service, what with all the characters included especially in the 4th game.

About 60% of the game menus are in english, so there is no need to know.

Besides, its not like its a bad thing. While I'll admit HTS1 and 2 were lacking something fierce, they fixed the recipe with 3 and 4.

May be coming out right after 4, but with a definite battle system and nice roster, its not like it isn't a good thing.

i'll need to take a look at it again, but i'm pretty certain HtS2 had some pretty heavy japanese in the menus. i haven't played it in a while though since i've been playing other games.

Seems to me that now support characters are going to have a more active role in this game...
I just hope that they improve the AI if there are going to be 2 vs 1 battle,at least in the story.

meh? I'm incredibly picky when it comes to fighting games now. The 4th one was all fan-service and it didn't deliver on gameplay. It was too shallow and tried to make itself seem more complicated than it really is. But since I'm cursed with being a fan of blach I'll probably download it anyway in hopes that they improved the gameplay.

True, naruto is a much better game on the psp. Bleach is just for all the fans to enjoy. I hope hts5 improves though. Heck, with so many characters I can't possibly miss this.

i've played the demo. i gotta say that it's really hard to like. the tag-battling is a nice touch, but it's unfortunate they didn't implement it earlier........why the didn't include tag-battling in HtS4 is beyond me.

animation quality is the same across all the games...as expected. i'm wondering if it's possible at all to implement a better cel-shading effect on the characters, but w/e. obviously the demo leaves A LOT to be desired since all you play as is Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo.

if you REALLY want a Bleach fighting game....Blades of Fate on DS is still where it's at, and eventually the second Bleach fighting game will be coming to the states also. for now though...as it stands...HtS is becoming more of a fanservice game.

I played it...and I hate. HTS5 is the pinnacle of fan-service god dammit! The tag-system would've been awesome it they just Implemented it in a way to make the game deeper like Saving Shifts, Quick Shifts, Combo Shifts, Team Supers Etc. (Note they're all in KoF and that's what makes it so damn awesome)

all things being said...Shattered Blade was a BETTER fanservice game than HtS is. admittedly it's pretty damn fun being able to swing a wii remote to hit people.

played it a little bit today.

two tutorial modes are available. one will immediately notice the fact that the tutorials ALSO act like re-enactments of the various fights during the original SS arc.

right off the bat, a couple of the vaizards are playable as well as the arrancar. Menus are import-friendly, but actual story mode dialogs are very much japanese-heavy for obvious reasons :p

there are finally some nice, read: VERY minor, touches......regardless of any mode you're playing, it's much easier browsing through the Combo List since the game FINALLY remembers the spot you tried looking at from the previous time. another thing i noticed is that fighting "modes" have been taken out of the equation. if i recall correctly from HtS4 you could choose a certain number of assist partners depending on the mode you select. this time around it's simply a matter of choosing your main 2 characters.

i've yet to play around with all the characters seeing how i don't know a lick of japanese.........i'd imagine you need to unlock most characters through story mode along with a couple of other modes that are available.

if you guys actually plan on purchasing the game......i have absolutely no clue what firmware the game requires, but rest assured the game will most likely run on anything at, or higher than firmware 3.90 lol

in reference to your concern, there is some sort of Tag Master sub-mode in the Tag Mode when you choose it from the main menu. i'm not sure if it's the same as Character Master Mode though.

Alright I have this game, got it 2 days ago for my hacked PSP.

Anyway, it may seem like theres less characters, but for example, when you select Nel, you can choose baby Nel or adult Nel, so its kinda like 2 chars in one. Same goes for Ichigo, Grimmjow, hollow ichigo, etc.

once you get 2 bars, you can activate your next form (if you have it). once you have it, it will NEVER go away.

tag system is alright, shoulda put it in earlier though.

cant think of anything important for now, cept theres panterra grimmjow now. if you want me to try find something out on the game, just ask

Definitely buying. The Tag Specials did it for me, that's it. When I did that double Getsuga Tenshou, I was overflowed with excitement that no other game has given me before other than E.T. for the Atari 2600.

try ichigo and baby nel or shinji and hiyori ;)

Shes alright, never played her a lot.

Her yoyo can do some mean combos tho.
is her wings shoot out the blades, and in tag team, she stabs you with her tail sword thing

I've only used Shinji once, but I prefer the old Aizen in HTS4. *coughs* I miss the cheap finishing move of Aizen with spectacles.
