I'm considering buying this game later today, and wanted to know what some CB'ers thought of it.
Anyone played/playing it?
Ive played it, i got the japanese version free when i baught the limited edition revenant wings ds lite. :3
I quite liked it, i havent played it a real lot but so far its pretty good, the battle system can be a bit annoying and also a bit weird times but overall it works.
I can't really explain in words how the battle system works, its a bit like a rts how you control your characters really, drag a box over the characters and summons(each character can summon so many mobs to fight along with em) you want to do something with and then click on what you want to do etc sorta.
It also has a few new characters in aswell.

So I just rented the game from the gamestop I work at last night.
It's not half bad actually. Not nearly as polished as a true FF sequel usually is, but not bad at all.

I've got it..it's not bad..I personally find the battle system ok-ish although I find the dragging-box-thing annoying at times -.- The graphics aren't great but what do you expect xD I quite like it though.

Is it better than the other FF release for DS, FF III?

I didn't like it, but I'm biased towards FFXII things. I seriously hated that game, mainly because of Vaan.

I personally prefer FFIII's battle system but that's 'cos I don't really like the new battle system in FF12. Plus, in Revenant Wings you mostly have missions whereas in FFIII you just play it as a story. I prefer the orginal final fantasy style so I'm liking FFIII more so far...buuuut I'm only half way through Revenant Wings so don't rely on what I say >__>

Yeah, it's kinda hard to say if its better than FF III or not. Depends on what time of FF game your into. If you loved tactics, you'll probably enjoy this, but if you like the traditional story driven games, look elsewhere.

Ok now ive played a bit of both.. and I have to say that there are good and bad things about both.. for instance.. FFIII can be seriously punishing sometimes with its limited save points.. I mean sometimes I just put down the DS after I lost and didnt pick it up till the next day because I'd have to play through all the shit i'd already done and couldnt save. On the other hand FFXII is quite interesting on that point since it allows for you to screw up and it has an unique battle system.. but the only problem is that the classing is subject to limitation and less variety due to it being story driven. I will still have to play more of FFXII to get a better feel.
Heh didn't realise this was out in america. :p
I might get it when it comes out over here in the UK and comes down in price, as i've got the japanese version, theres not much point spending alot of money on it, although i'd like having the english version.

must have mistaken it for something else then
I got it the other day because I tend to eat up anything FF related, although I'm considering holding off until I finish FFXII or the 300 other games in my library I haven't finished yet.
