Hei's Huka

Inside Hei's room was a conglomeration of items he had picked up in his travels, scattered across a large desk, a couple of book cases and some on the headboard of his bed. Most items tend towards archaeological odds and ends.

Some of the objects include a violin Hei intends to learn to play, an ivory, silver and gold chess set Hei doesn't know how to play either, and old chinese writing utensils Hei uses to practice caligraphy.

The room itself is rather plain, save for the small sofa, desk and chair, two book cases, bed set and an end table beside the bed.

In the corner is Hei's Huka, packed away.

After having left the others who were still tipsy in the streets, Hei made a bee-line for the order, and for his room. He was finally going to sleep on his own bed. It would be glorious.

Shortly after entering the room Hei shucks down to his sleepwear, turns the lights out and sinks into his mattress.

This is Heaven.

Taking about thirty seconds for sleep to take him, Hei rests up for the coming adventures. And for when the noisier exorcists return 'home.'

Jacques knocked on the door.

"Hei, come out. I'm worried about you," Jacques shouted.

"Hmm...?" Hei rubbed his eyes.

"You didn't hear the alert?" Jacques asked.

"No... what's wrong?" Hei replied in question.

"Your finder friend is dead," Jacques told him.

He looked somewhat unconcerned. Jacques grabbed him by the collar, "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Hei brushed his arm aside. "I realized something while I was out there. That's all."

"Bastard," Jacques spitted.

"Now, if you'll leave me to my room, I'll be back to sleep," Hei told him, trying to close the door on him.

Jacques stuck his foot in the way of the door. "No you don't."

"Mind removing that foot."

"Tell me whats going on, just what would you have realized that is more important than your comrades?"

"How is that your business? Didn't you all traipse right back to the order? Even that woman, everyone is so very nice and loyal when faced with someone yet if they are in a troubling situation don't do much of shit to lend a hand now do they."

Thinking a moment, Jacques had actually forgotten about Hei for a while.

"Even so, you wouldn't just sleep when a friend of yours has died."

"Be a realist, I can't do much in my current state, I'm tapped out from getting away from the Noah, alone. Now if you'd like my help in the search I need to be able to at least maintain a steady line of thought. Begone."

With that the door was slammed, with Jacques removing his foot in time.

Things weren't going well.

'Bastard.'

"Sit there. Confront him when he gets back."

'I didn't know you were still helping me.'

"I have my reasons, and my doubts."

"Hei! You bastard, get out here right now!" Jacques shouted to no avail. The lock clicked in front of him.

'Why didn't I try the door first?'

"Fine, see if I care." Jacques spat outside his room.

With that, Jacques sat outside his room. He waited till he heard snoring inside, then did the same, placing himself at the door's frame. The door swung outward, but Jacques didn't sleep that hard even if they didn't hit him. He would hear anyone trying to escape.

That man is still there. Of all these people, only one suspects anything. Someone dies in their home and they go about their daily business. How lax can you get.

Standing and walking to the door, Hei opens it, and there is resistance. A mans body. Jacques is leaning against the frame.

“You can’t be serious, get up fool.”

Stretching a bit and climbing to his feet, Jacques eyes Hei. “Didn’t want to miss you, and figured this was the best way.”

“Well, what do you want now? I’d like to prepare for the coming missions so be quick.”

-Now in the hallway with Jacques-

"I just have five things to say," Jacques tilted his head, closed his eyes, and smiled.

"Spit them out," Hei replied.

Jacques hit Hei square in the nose, who then stumbled back. "What was that for?"

Jacques looked angry, "I'll give you another five reasons if you want."

"You really want to start a fight here?"

"Give it time; I will fight you sometime. I'd leave if I were you. Go see Komui. I think he wanted to talk to you."

With that, Jacques silently and stiffly walked off. 'Bastard. There's no way that's him. His personality has changed too much. But it's not like the order is helping with it. They're only interested in results. Why did I come here in the first place?'
