My old web site, which I got mixed reviews from people but overall I got a good feedback, those comments I got I've put to good use. At least I have try to.
I've followed all the steps that goes into web design. One of the things that many seem to ask about was what my site was about, navigation problems and in some cases load time.
Well I think I've become clear on what my site is about, at least I hope that the point is given as I am always looking to improve on that part. Some people even called my site a blog style site.
Another problem that seem to come up was navgation being hard to use. I hope that I have improved on that as well as I have made sure that not only are the main links are in the side bar but they are also listed on the top for qucik access.
Now the site is still under work. I have to work on some pages (most of them are not big deals) I also have one section to work on as I am still going threw designs for it. Hopefully they will be fixed by the end of the week.
OK, so this is what my site is about, I hope this came across to you when you visit. The main goals of the site is to bring common users easy to understand reviews and articles in entertainment. Also to bring content that users not only find userful but what they enjoy.
Another cool feature I think makes my site good is the theme style it can be done in. Only a few images need to be updated and some are random. I also have very userful little side box which changes from page to page which is just little general info like when movies are out and other key features of my site.
I really work on taking the site to a style sheet only site using nothing but div tags. I think I've done this. Only a few parts of the site itself using tables such as when listing the reviews and articles. Over all I think the site is light for 56k users.
I know I have much to learn and one of the best ways that I find that I can improve on is reading users feedback. A wise man told me long ago that no feedback is always good feedback. I don't know how true this is but I've always looked at it as if no one *****s about anything then I must be doing right. I know thats not the case.
This is why I am always hoping to hear peoples feedback. Like most webmasters I have dreams as well. Some are to be the best and some are to be popular in some way. Not me, even know those things would be super cool to happen to a small time site such as myself I know its way far fetch at least at the moment.
My one dream is to maybe someday have someone do a review on my site. I don't mean something simple but from a big time site like killer web sites.com to be featured on a site or even maybe win some kind of award. I did win one award years ago for New Webmaster, however it turn out that a staff member was cheating votes so they restarted it, however the 2nd time around I didn't win, I got 2nd place. Don't know if cheating was done as it came the first time, however it felt very good to at least know I had a chance to win something.
Not really looking for much, just good user feedback, even if its bad. this may sound a little weird but bad feedback is always good feedback.
