I think it’s about time for another Phoenix Wright thread.

Well, then your missing out. The Ace Attorney Series (Also known as Gyakuten Saiban in Japan) is a game that is loosely based on our legal system (very loosely)
In other words…it’s a lawyer sim.
You take the role of Phoenix Wright, rookie defense attorney who always seems to find himself wrapped up in a murder case.
Ace Attorney plays somewhat like a point and click game, using the touch screen to examine areas looking for clues, and moving around various places, finding witnesses and looking for evidence to use in the upcoming trial.
And the next day after clue finding you find yourself in the court room, where you press witnesses and find “contradictions” in their testimonies by presenting evidence.
If you find a contradiction, you have the option to present evidence, and are prompted to shout “OBJECTION” into the DS microphone.
However, too many false objections and you’re client is seen as guilty.
But not really everyone plays the game for the game play. A lot of people really love the story and characters, and how it manages a light hearted tone with gripping suspense and seriousness.

Alright: Even though Capcom will hate you for it there are many ways to get your hands on Ace Attorney 1 – 3, there’s always importing.
The Japanese re-releases of Gyakuten Saiban 1 – 3 already have English Translation! So many people were able to buy the 3rd installment weeks before release. However, there’s no point in importing, since all the games have been released outside of Japan.
All the games that is, except for Apollo Justice, which doesn’t come with an English Option. And has not been released outside of Japan.
The first Ace Attorney game might be tad rare to find, so you might have to resort to buying online/ importing.

Whoa, hold up. Gyakuten Saiban is the Japanese version of Ace Attorney that has been around for sometime, just not outside of Japan…and not in English.
The first “Ace Attorney” game had more of an emphasis on the title “ Phoenix Wright”, and the next two games were dubbed as “Ace Attorney.” Which is Capcoms attempt to rename the series.
Apollo Justice is the 4th installment of Capcoms lawyer series, featuring a new protagonist, characters, and is made specifically for the Nintendo DS.

The first AA game, was very rare to find at its release, due to high demand, and short stock.
Originally only had 4 cases, but Capcom added an extra fifth case that was designed for the DS hardware.
The first AA is known for its amazing soundtrack.

Phoenix returns, but not as a defense attorney, but still manages to help the new guy out.
New Forensic-style features that let you survey certain aspects of crime scenes, examine objects, etc.
Recreate the crime scene to find clues with the all new "Crime Recreation Mode"
New Cast of characters, with new Prosecutor Klavier Gavin.

This is a fantastic game series, I hope more people check it out..
Capcoms now releasing downloadable chapters over the internet,

Daletto is helping Capcom port the three Game Boy Advance Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) games into downloadable PC games. Instead of selling each complete game PC Saiban will be broken into episodes. The first piece from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney goes live on March 18 and it’s free to download. Future episodes cost 120 yen each, which is not the price per turnabout. The four chapters dealing with Wright, Edgeworth and the DL-6 incident are split into 17 parts. Since you only have to pay for 16 the total cost for the PC version is 1,920 yen ($18.75).



On April 15 Gyakuten Saiban 2 goes through the episodic knife with Gyakuten Saiban 3 following it on May 13. Each of these contain over twenty pieces, but like the initial episode of PC Saiban players can taste the first piece for free.



Capcom USA has announced no plans to release a North American equivalent. However, I imagine an episodic version for the Wii or the Xbox 360 would sell pretty well. It might even draw new fans into the growing series.

Lack of respect for a dude that spent a whole while piling info for this thread. He liked the game, he made a thread to raise more awareness about it and get more people interested n all everyones doing is questioning his motive and info. This is one of the best series I've played in a long time. It's incredibly fun and the story, and Dialouge are spot on! I also want to play as Phoenix for the next Ace Attorney game. Nice thread!

Awesomest game ever! A really must play for people who like solving mysteries ^_^ After I played this game I got addicted to crimes and stuff and started reading Detective Conan and playing more crime solving games like CSI: HArd evidence on Xbox 360 (still haven't finished that xD) And Jake Hunter: Detective stories on the DS......too easy and short for my liking though
