Who are the people (like renji and rukia when they were children) that live with the shinigami, if they are human then why don't they live on earth?

And when a shinigami dies where does he/she go?

I think they're children, who died very early or were born there as alredy dead. And if someone from that world dies, I think he is reborn in our world as normal human.

Btw, everyone in soul society or spirits and have already died. Rukia and Renji died at a really young age and I'm guessing spirits who get reincarnated back on Earth
