Well... it's pretty obvious that Kaien-dono probably love(d) his wife... I guess they do make a perfect couple. However, I'm a huge supporter of Kaien/Rukia, so I'm always hoping that there'd be some sort of way for them to be together.....

Kaien is the shit.

I can possibly help with a banner as well, though I can't really make an animated one.

As for who he should be married to...Well, his wife of course (Miyako in the anime). I think Rukia did have feelings for him, but I don't think they were necessarily feelings of love. It's more like she reveered (sp?) him for his talents and basically who he was, and it was probably more of like a master and an apprentice relationship like Yoruichi and Soi Fong.

OHHH awesome banners, still I wanna make some but I need pics and I want Saori to pick them because she's the owner and I want to try and make good ones so the only way to make good ones in my opinion is to ask the owner.

To answer Miriya's question yes I think Kaien did know that Rukia had feelings for him but not in the sense of love since he was already married.

Personally, the last one is my favorite. And back to topic, I think Kaien-dono probably knew how Rukia felt at the end... it leaves me to wonder if Kaien-dono survived, would anything come out of it?

I agree with Raku, I still think Kaien-dono will win Rukia's hand... but Ichigo is way stronger than Kaien-dono when it comes to 'real' fighting....

I don't think anything would've happened if Kaien was still alive. I think he was too much in love with his wife.

I don't think there would be a contest between Kaien and Ichigo because there's a possibility Ichigo likes Orihime. =p Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm RukiaxRenji.

I agree with you there Miriya. Some people also forget that Kaien had a wife and they looked really good together!

I wished he survived to but in a way, he gets to be with the one he loves , even if it meant leaving his siblings and rukia :sad:

Answer: Nah,I dont think so. If so,wouldnt you think ganju would have looked at him weirdly when they met instead of having a sodding catfight with Ichigo lol

Okay, I'm going to spoiler this...

Well think about all the theories surrounding Ichigo's father, who I find kind of resembles Ganju lol! Isshin could've taken Masaki's family name when they were married so Kuukaku and Ganju wouldn't even know...they'd just think he had a strong resemblance to their brother.

Also, if Isshin doesn't want Ichigo to know that he's a shinigami, then he could've asked his family to respect his wishes in order to live a normal life.

Besides, Ganju was veeeery young if you think about it when Kaien died. Therefore, Isshin, if he's related to them, could've left soul society way before then.

Omg, I have so many thoughts running through my head....gah!

I didn't go to the last Anime Con. But according to my friend, there wasn't a Kaien-dono cosplayer... then again, she didn't know whom Kaien-dono was at the time, so.... But, she did see a couple dress up as Shunsui and Nanao-chan, and replayed the part where Nanao dropped the basket of flower petals on top of Shunsui's head...

Does anyone know when Kaien died?

I keep thinking '40 years', for some reason. This is very important for a fic I'm writing, seeing as how I want to get things as accurate as I can.

So if we start from the present day, how many years has it been since Kaien died? And to elaborate more, how many years do you think it's been since he became a shinigami?

It says it took him 6 years to make VC, at least one year to get into a squad, and maybe one other year to go through school. Give or take a few years before Rukia joined he could've been a shinigami for 30+ years before that.

Now, the timeline in my fic will go something like this...

150-200 years ago my character joins the shinigami ranks
100 years ago - Yoruichi and Urahara escape/are exiled from Soul Society
*** here is where it gets iffy
50 years ago - Rukia and Renji decide to become shinigami
40 years ago - Kaien dies
20 years ago - Isshin gives up being a shinigami and marries
15 years ago - Ichigo is born
present day - Ichigo encounters Rukia, becomes a shinigami, and Isshin once again dawns his shinigami robes

I just need a little bit of help with this you guys. If anyone has any input I'd appreciate it. ^_^

But no one ever says exactly when he died, so it could be anytime between 100-5 years ago.

Well it's a fic based on a character that is related to the Shiba family. It does contain spoilers about Urahara and Yoruichi (aka their past) because it does take place around that time. There's a lil bit of Kaien in it too. Caring older brother Kaien...tee hehe.
