Hey all,
Happy New Year! For those who’ve already welcomed the New Year, you have now heard and seen the future! Well it’s the present now, but there are still some of our friends who’re waiting patiently for midnight to strike to bring them from 07’ to 08’. What better way to bring in the New Year than to have an NL issue ready for your perusal? Of course there are other ways but we’re sticking to our publishing date so :P
With the new year, there are many changes coming your way from the NL. Wondering why I’m writing this Editorial? You may have noticed that #20’s Editorial was written by editor Miyagi Rikku. It was due to our Editor-in-Chief Evanesque being busy with her work. When real life becomes an issue, or even the stress of dealing with other things on CB, people come and go. Evanesque has stepped down from her position as Editor-in-Chief, and I have taken my previous position again, a switch in positions. With regards to staff, after this issue is published, Miya will be resigning from the CBNL. We’ll definitely miss having you around!
There are so many things going on, which start to get implemented tomorrow! Our dear readers might not see the changes with regard to the published product of the CBNL, but staff and our CBNL section will experience a change, just so that we can run the NL more efficiently.
I hope you guys enjoy reading #21 :)

Club Bleach: Bleach Project Update
By Kohaku <3
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=14581&dateline=1195797192 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=14581)
The month of December went by smoothly for the Bleach Project. Like usual, there was a bit of trash talking spurring from competitive nature, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The Espada reclaimed its domination with wins in both Contest 57 and 58. However, due to second place finishes in both contests for the Vaizard, Espada has yet to break into the top spot on the Divisional Ladder.
Contest 57 was a hard one. Divisions had to listen to clips of 18 songs, find the title and artist, and match each song to the C46 member that chose it. However, although hard, it wasn’t impossible. Both the Espada and Vaizard were able to correctly name the title and artist of each song, and they both did a fairly good job of matching them to C46. Unfortunately, the Gotei had a harder time.
Contest 58 was an interesting one. It involved the solving of a word search puzzle, but neither the words nor the number of words nor the theme of the words was given. Still, the Espada and Vaizard ran the table with perfect answers, and blew the rest of the pack away. The gem from this contest was a solid third place finish for the 4th Division. Hopefully they can build on this finish and become a powerhouse of the Gotei.
Due to the holidays, C46 decided not to hold any contests until 2008. I hope everyone can get a lot of rest during this period, and attack the future contests to stop the Espada’s winning streak or to dethrone the Vaizard’s reign at the top of the Ladder.
January is probably going to be a busy month. Stay tuned for the next issue.

A New Article which will be featured in each article is the CBNL's Own Bleach fanfic. This fanfic is to written by one of the most prolific and well known fanfic writters on CB, Joe Black the great writter of Clubbleach Z in which many of our current users and past users feature in a weird twisted world that is the creation of this maniac...<.<...
Anyway without further adiu I present to you chapter 1 Of Bleach "Innocence Lost" Created by Joe Black.
Hinamori Momo, once a loyal subordinate for Captain Aizen, diagnosed clinically insane by the Fourth Division, is placed under solitary confinement in the psychological ward. It had already been two weeks.
Imprisoned by the walls supposedly made of genuine concern and worry, she gazed at the moonlight, seeping from the small barred window of the dark padded room. The tears from her face reflected like diamonds as they streamed down her face, staining her pure white straightjacket. Her cries of despair could no longer be kept inside, for all of her friends had abandoned her.
Suddenly, her eyes widened in fear and her cries grew silent, as familiar footsteps echoed through the silence of the night. As Momo’s cell door opened, a twisted smile crept from the shadows. As the man’s hand stretched into an inside pocket of his lab coat, Momo cringed in helpless bondage. Licking his lips, the man looked upon her with lustful, demonic eyes.
“It’s time for your medicine, my sweet.”
Momo was unable to speak. Her eyes shook spasmodically, paralyzed with fear. Sweat and tears mixed down her face, a face that could only be made from true suffering. The man’s eyes gleamed with sick delight, piercing Momo’s arm with a rusty syringe. All of her muscles had lost function. Like a rag doll, she was sprawled on the floor to become his plaything.
Despite all that was going to happen, she closed her eyes and prayed in the sanctity of her mind. Every night he would come despite her prayers, but it was the only hope she had left.
“Send an angel to rescue me.”

“How is she doing, Doctor?”
Unohana, captain of the fourth division, was unable to give Hitsugaya a reassuring smile.
“Her physical condition has completely recovered from the near fatal stab wound under our care.”
Hitsugaya bellowed a sigh of relief, grateful that his friend is safe.
“However, I’ve made it my decision to continue her treatment, as Momo's delirium is becoming more severe.”
“You mean– she still believes that Aizen is innocent despite his blatant betrayal on Soul Society.”
“This condition was most likely caused by the extreme levels of shock. Sadly, unlike physical wounds, I cannot heal her remaining condition with my powers.”
“It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? If you worked so hard to gain the respect of someone you admire, only to realize that – why would Aizen do such a horrible thing?”
“There is no need to ask such pointless questions.” she responded, “Right now, Hinamori needs a friend by her side. Isane will escort you to her, but unfortunately I can’t allow you two to talk in a more open setting. If you want to visit her, you must be in her cell with her. By entering the room, you waiver any risks that you may be harmed. Of course, that should be no worry for a Captain like you.”
Hitsugaya nodded, and mentally thanked her for everything that she had done for Momo.
Footsteps echoed through the hallways of Momo’s cell. Momo quickly opened her eyes and looked at the small window. To her confusion, she saw that it was still during the day. Oh how she missed living in the sunshine, to smell the flowers and marvel at their beauty, walk among nature’s wonderful creatures, to laugh and cry with her friends, and to pursue an enjoyable never-ending purpose. However, she knew that the only feeling she could feel was fear; that he would come back that night.
“Momo, there’s someone that would like to see you.”
As the soft words of Isane reached Momo’s ear, the door unlocked and opened so that a patch of white hair peeked from the hallway.
“Snowy!” she exclaimed excitedly. Closing the door behind him, Hitsugaya smiled with the same joyful excitement.
Without losing the situational formality he replied jokingly, “Bed Wetter Momo.”
Despite being in bondage in the straightjacket, her emotion couldn’t be stopped as she leaped towards Hitsugaya’s arms. Taking him by surprise, Hitsugaya lost his balance as he fell under Momo’s weight. As she lay upon him with her face inches from his, she was but for a moment lost in his eyes. Snapping out of her trance, she immediately rolled off of him, turning her body away in shame. In an upright position, her eyes became fixed on one of the padded walls.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you like that. I was just really excited and . . .”
Hitsugaya quickly sat up, and opened his sly eyes. As she continued talking, he pranced towards her silently like a playful fox, and when he was in breathing distance from behind, wrapped his arms tightly around her. Pleasantly surprised, her mouth opened slightly as she uttered a soft passionate cry. Hugging her close to his heart, Hitsugaya’s mouth moved ever closer towards Momo’s left ear. Tenderly, he moved his lips as to whisper what he really felt.
“I missed you too.”
Momo wished in her heart that his embrace would never end, that the warm heart of the ice wielder would never cease to give her comfort. Closing her eyes tearfully, she remembered what she had wished so many times before.
“Thank you for answering my prayers.”
__________________________
For Momo, the rising of the sun and the setting of the moon, that sharp contrast of the darkness and the light, formed the very reality of her existence.
During the daytime, she basked in the light which emanated from Hitsugaya’s pure soul. Sometimes, she gave him her full attention, as he would tell her stories about what was happening inside Soul Society, including frightening tales of vampiric creatures known as the Bounto, and the maniacal Kariya who wanted to obliterate Soul Society. Over time, she gradually stopped asking about their development in finding Aizen. Hitsugaya was pleased that he didn’t even have to force her to do so.
Other times, the two would remain silent as she cuddled into his innocent embrace. She only wished that she could use her arms again to love him back. With the setting of the sun, Hitsugaya was gone.
Night – although it didn’t share the same beauty as the day, the darkness held its own allure. Over time, part of her had become drawn to it. Since she was held hostage in the insane asylum, she would have never predicted getting used to the nightly visitations. However, during the month that passed, she had come to realize another shocking truth. That despite the horrible things that the rapist did to her,
She was beginning to enjoy herself.
Her ears perked up in excitement as her second favorite guest walked his way towards her cell. Allowing her inner demon to come forth, the emotion that used to be fear became a twisted feeling of her own. The thoughts that were hidden from the day sprang back in her mind. Not even she would ever know why this side wasn’t discovered so long before.
“Is it already time for my physical, Doctor?”
Playing along with the man’s sick fantasy, she put back on her expressions of fear and sorrow, wondering if she could still make it convincing. As the man surrounded by darkness crept towards her, she closed her eyes and from her own sexual deviance, secretly pleasured every moment. It was a defence mechanism created in her mind in order to keep her life, a delusion of the reality she faced until she was finally free.
The moon descended down from the sky, and then it was day.
Unohana went back to the main hospital and scanned the supply closet for the monthly inventory check. Unlike Isane who usually checked the closet weekly, Unohana instinctively knew something was missing. After double checking the forms on her clipboard, her face remained neutral, although she was quite horrified at the same time. A small glass bottle of a strong sedative was found to be half empty, and unaccounted for.
From behind, she sensed that someone was watching her. Closing the supply closet and pretending to disregard any discrepancy, she walked back to continue her duty to treat the sick and wounded. However, she was planning to stay extremely late that night.
It became around midnight, and Unohana hid herself behind a corner near where the storage closet was. With her captain class ranking, hiding her presence was extremely easy for her. Almost convincing herself that she was worrying too much, she heard footsteps – footsteps that shouldn’t be wandering around the closed main hospital area. Peeking from the shadows, tears fell to the ground as she saw her promising new recruit of the fourth division twist the cap of the bottle of the sedative, and pour it carefully into a small syringe. She wanted to reject the truth in what she had seen.
As he walked off, Unohana swiftly followed him through the dark corridors of the psychiatric ward. Placing his first firmly into the guard’s open palmed hand, an unidentified amount of coins fell from the tips of his fingers. The guard handed him a shiny object in return, the master key ring.
As the young man straightened out his lab coat and combed down his hair in front of Momo’s cell, Unohana gripped her sword knowing full well what she had to do. The guard watched as he opened the cell door, and by taking this moment of opportunity, charged with incredible vigor and swiftly cut the head clean off the guard’s neck. As the new recruit attempted to turn to his side to react to this suddenness, Unohana’s sword was already impaled into his chest. As she stared deep into the young man’s insane eyes, she formally said her concluding words to him before he died.
“Consider this your termination.”
___________________________________
It wasn’t long after that incident that Hitsugaya made his case clearly known to the Divisions, and specifically Unohana, for the permanent release of Hinamori Momo.
“I can no longer trust her to continue living with this lack of security.” Hitsugaya declared. “Her stay living in the psychiatric ward can also only worsen her mental condition.”
Unohana nodded in guilt, but still had to make her point known to him. “Concerning her specific deliria, our test results have been inconclusive to whether or not she has recovered from –”
“How much more does she have to suffer?” Hitsugaya interrupted sternly, “I’ve been with her enough to see that it’s no longer Aizen that is tormenting her, but this place!”
“How can you be so certain?”
Hitsugaya paused for a moment in an attempt to find the right words, but realized that there was only one truly honest answer that he could give her. “I’m not.”
No one would ever truly understand why Unohana actually agreed with the release, but under a promised agreement, from one captain to another, Hitsugaya was to occasionally monitor her behaviour until the medical community would be able to secretly make a definitive conclusion on Hinamori’s mental health.
Momo raised her head proudly as she wore her black shinigami’s uniform again. Hitsugaya’s warm smile filled her soul with joy, as he waited near the entrance of the psychiatric ward to take her home. He wouldn’t tell her however, that he was waiting near that entrance ever since Unohana agreed to set her free.
“May I take you home?” he asked.
Nodding enthusiastically, she turned and made a half-hearted dash in front of him. “As long as you can catch up with me!” she yelled.
Although jumping from rooftop to rooftop would seem normal and commonplace to a shinigami, Momo felt an unexpected surge of excitement as her weightlessness flowed with the rustling of the wind. The pores of her body savored the cold sensation on her skin, and her eyes marvelled from the skyward view of the world she lived in. So overwhelmed with the joy of true freedom, she wanted to sing that joy to the skies, if she only knew what song to sing.
As she decided to sprint back to her place, she saw Hitsugaya already waiting for her on her rooftop.
“About time you showed up.”
Momo quietly sat down with Hitsugaya on the rooftop. The view of the stars above was much more beautiful than from her cell.
“Unohana told me that you would have to keep an eye on me for at least the first month. Is that true?”
“Yes.” he said blatantly, “However, it wasn’t that duty however that encouraged me to walk you home.”
Holding back her tears, she nodded and returned a smile. “I suppose since that you’re already here –“. She paused. “You could stay with me for the night.”
“I’ll be on your roof if you need me.”
“Silly!” she giggled, “Who in their right mind sleeps on a roof?” [*large bright flashing arrows appear, pointing to Hitsugaya*] “What’s wrong with sleeping inside? If not that, you should at least keep me company for a while.”
“Are you sure I won’t be intruding?”
She rolled her eyes. “It’s not intruding if I want you to come in, knucklehead!”
As they entered the once abandoned quarters of Hinamori Momo, they were surprised to see that it was as spotless as Ikkaku’s bald head. Momo picked up a small folded note on the kitchen counter. As she read the note, she felt overwhelmed with joy. Reading aloud, she said, “Welcome home – Fourth Division.”
Hitsugaya however, had already seen past their good nature. He had realized that everything, and anything that would ever remind her of Aizen, was removed. Hitsugaya became worried that Momo had already realized this truth as well and was hiding her feelings. Although this wasn’t as wrong as stealing Soi Fong’s gigantic stash of hawt Yourichi stuff, Hitsugaya felt disappointed that the Fourth Division would stoop so low as to deceive her this way.
His train of thought was interrupted by her sweet words.
“Is it alright if I take a shower?” Momo asked. Being in a straightjacket for a month, after all, didn’t help with hygiene.
Blushing slightly, he replied, “Didn’t they offer you a shower before you left?
“I didn’t want to be in there longer than I had to.”
Taking an extremely relaxed laid out pose on her sofa, he nodded. It wasn’t until twenty minutes and a gratuitous anime girl shower scene later that she came back to her guest.
“How long does it take you to —” Hitsugaya was at a loss for words. She was beautiful, yet there wasn’t anything that she was wearing that made her so. In speaking, she really wasn’t wearing much at all-- loose silk pyjamas and an open housecoat. She didn’t even bother combing back up the attractive bun in her hair.
“Oh, this?” she replied, pointing to her choice in apparel. “I hope you don’t mind that I wear something less restrictive.” Understanding that this was a reasonable change from her recent life, he decided that he would have to keep it cool. Of course, that plan didn’t last long when she leaped onto him on the sofa.
“I still owe you for all those hugs.”
Before he had a chance to react, she squeezed him tightly in her arms, rubbing herself up and down his body in the purest form of a girl hug. As Momo lifted her head to get up from her position, she felt a loving hand stroke her hair. As she turned her face back down towards his, his eyes dropped lovingly, and his face shone with absolute content. Momo leaned forward, and as they closed their eyes, their lips locked. However, as soon as they were getting into the heat of their embrace, Momo pulled herself away. Hitsugaya silently agreed that this was going too fast.
Getting off the sofa and straightening himself out, he said, “Wull, I better get back to my own quarters. It’s getting late.”
“Couldn’t you at least stay with me for tonight?” she asked.
Hitsugaya nodded. “I understand,” he replied, “I’ll stay on your roof then, so then you can call if you need me.”
“What did I tell you about sleeping on roofs, silly? I want you to sleep with me. A bed mattress is much more comfortable than roof tiles anyways. ”
“Whoa! Are you still crazy?” he joked, “Relationships don’t develop this fast.”
She giggled. “We won’t be doing anything like that.”
Hitsugaya, as a man, couldn’t comprehend any truth in those words. Sleeping in the same bed – nothing will happen. Yeah right.
Momo excitedly hopped onto her fashionably large Queen-sized bed. As she stoked her recently cleaned bed sheets with her fingertips, her body delighted in a sensual experience which contrasted the uncomfortable floor of the insane asylum. Curling up underneath them, her eyes invited him to join her in this bliss.
Hitsugaya placed his zanpaktou on the open sword rack, and for a little bit of show, slowly took off his top. He leaped in the bed beside her, although keeping quite a considerable distance on the edge of the mattress. Momo inched a little bit closer towards him. Looking blankly at the roof, her mind was lost in the future.
“What do you think is going to become – of us?” she asked.
She turned her head to see that he was already sound asleep. Stroking his face gently with the backs of her fingers, she gently kissed him on the cheek. It no longer mattered what the future held for her, just as long as she could have him by her side.
Before she closed her eyes to dream about her ending of living happily ever after, she had forgotten something. There was still one last barrier she would have yet to confront, the greatest barrier of all. A tear streamed down her eye. In her mind, an internal battle emerged.
Momo – I thought you loved me. Momo remained silent, trying to ignore the voice in her mind, the one that could only belong to Aizen.
Did you already forget your task of love for me? How one day, we together would reign as the King and Queen over all life, all of Soul Society?!
“Of course I remember, but – things change.”
She remembered how she was originally part of Aizen’s plan, how before he was to stage his own death, he told her everything that was going to pass. The only task that he asked her for was to put on the act of her life; to pretend that she was completely fooled by Aizen’s scheme, as to gain the trust of others, and become an inside spy.
Of course, this was done masterfully well. When she fought Ichimaru, Hitsugaya truly believed she was fighting out of true passion and rage on unfounded accusations, whilst the purpose was to deceive him. The stab through her chest was carefully planned – executed as to not impale any of her vital points, the ultimate sacrifice she gave to him so that she could remain to one day betray Soul Society from the inside – and so the greatest illusion didn’t involve Aizen’s zanpaktou at all, but the woman that admired him even to the point of sacrificing her own body.
You shall never change Momo. No matter how much you want to believe it, you will always belong to me.
“No.” she thought with great confidence. “I was a fool to believe in you, to love you. Now I understand what true love feels like.”
Hitsugaya? Don’t make me laugh! You promised to kill him, to take advantage of his compassion and disguise the slaying as a product of blind rage over my death. I expected you to fail of course, but I wanted to see if you were that loyal to me. I was right.
“I’m not loyal to you anymore!” She wanted to forget her dark past, but his voice shook the very depths of her heart.
All you have to do is kill him, and I will forgive you of your betrayal against me.
“It’s over Aizen! I will never harm a single white hair on his head. He is the one I choose to be with me forever. I want you to leave, and never come back!”
Aizen laughed maniacally. I’ll be seeing you very soon.
Momo opened her eyes violently. Turning to her side, she was relieved that Hitsugaya was still there. She wished that she could have loved him from the beginning and joined his division. Washing her face hurriedly, she looked herself down in the mirror. She smiled.
“I no longer love Aizen. I’m finally free from his control.”
Then why am I still thinking about his proposal?
Her eyes widened in horror. She stumbled back into the bedroom; her mind confused with emotion, her body controlled by her insanity as the innocent watched. She passionately looked at the innocent Hitsugaya lying soundly on her bed.
“I will always be faithful to him.”
Then why am I walking towards his sword?
“I would never plan to harm him in any way.”
Then why am I taking the sword out of its sheath?
Her eyes filled with tears. “I will never kill the one I love.” She crawled upon him over the covers, with her hands tightly gripped on the handle of the sword. The blade pointed downwards towards his chest, as the last thought passed her mind. Then why am I doing this?

“Murder, murder! Murder in Soul Society! Murder!”
Hanatarou’s alarmed cries pierced the silence of the early day in Soul Society. The captains and vice captains gathered quickly, only to see a sight they wished to never see again. Hitsugaya’s impaled corpse hung on the Tower with his very own sword – the same tower that Aizen was once crucified on long ago.
This concludes Chapter One Of Bleach "Innocence Lost" Made By Joe Black specifically for the CBNL, Look forward to the second chapter coming out in the next issue and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did myself.

Club Bleach's Poetry Section:
It's Past and Present
Compiled by: Mirage
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=6535&dateline=1194433499 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=6535)
For months, Club Bleach’s poetry section has gone through many drastic changes. What used to be a hub for poets, both long time and new, to post their creations, receive and share comments and critique has evolved to a much quieter landscape. Every time someone posted a poem, you would be sure to find posts from fellow poets or simply from members browsing the section, on their thoughts or suggestions.
However, nowadays it’s quite a feat in itself if you manage to get constructive criticism and/or comments on your poem. Truth be told, the section has quietened to a level which vastly contrasts its former glory. Is it because people do not enjoy poetry, or because the poets do not post as much as they used to? Possibly the second choice, but in the internet world, reality far outweighs posting new material.
In a bid to change the current status of the poetry section, two budding poets came up with the idea to create a usergroup just for poets, for them to showcase their poems and be sure to get the c&c they were looking for. Hence, the Poetry Corner was created by Scorch777 and Toasty. Being a member from Day 1, it definitely set a new standard in the poetry section.
What seemed to be a prestigious group helped poets improve on their penmanship, and help other poets. Soon, Individual Poetry Galleries were created, alongside with Poetry contests and Poet Battles. The contests even extended to the main poetry section to allow non-member poets to sharpen their poetry skills. The Poetry section was creating a hype, which soon allowed members’ poetry to be showcased on the NL, and joint-contests with the Shutter Squad, a usergroup dedicated to photographers.
The Poetry Corner owes much of its success to the Vice-Head Poet Toasty, who despite doing so many things for her division and other importance matters on CB came through for PC. Her recent departure from CB left many saddened, and made an impact on how things would be run both in PC and the Poetry section. To help Scorch777 run PC, I was elected to take Toasty’s former position as Vice-Head Poet. Bent on bringing more activity to this section, I sought for ways to have something to do in the section, and found the idea through a suggestion from Ai.
As we enter the New Year, we bring on something new to the Poetry section: The ‘Poem of the Week’ (POTW - Poetry) contest. Based on the ‘Sig of the Week’ (SOTW) contest, PC members and non-members alike will be able to participate in weekly themed contests. Monday to Friday, members submit their poems in the necessary thread, and are allowed to edit them before the due date. From Saturday to Sunday, voting commences. Participating poets are allowed to vote except for themselves. Very much like SOTW, the top three poems of choice will be numbered and votes tallied at the end of the voting period to announce the winners.
There was a trial period not too long ago where we tested how effective the POTW would be through two POTW trial runs. Doubtful that it would create the type of activity we would be happy with, Scorch777 and I went straight into it and found ourselves surprised at the activity it was creating. Themes were discussed and formed by us both, but that didn’t stop poets from writing poems which they thought reflected the theme. The themes chosen were ‘Nature in winter’ and ‘Wishes’.
The winners for POTW #1 were Pantiffel (1st), kensei_viz (2nd), and Ai & Katen Kyoutetsu (tied for 3rd). Winners for POTW #2 were Icestorm (1st), Ai (2nd), and Trouse (3rd). Naruto RP Interview
Compiled by: Mirage
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=6535&dateline=1194433499 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=6535)
Recently back on CB in the hidden reaches of Other RPs, one of our most popular RPs, the Naruto RP is giving us something to think about. What started off as a small thread from an inactive member evolved into an RP of sorts, taken under the wing of 4 members. The RP has gone through some changes since then but it looks set to take back its popularity. Here we have an interview with two of the current GMs: Sorastrife and X.Seff.X.
#1 - Why did you decide to start the Naruto RP with a fresh start?
[Sorastrife] - We felt the previous version had lost its member base and activity, and the best way to revitalise the RP was to start with a clean slate.
#2 - So what's different this time around?
[Sorastrife] - We've added a more balanced rule set to prevent people from becoming too powerful, thus hopefully encouraging more people to join and stay active.
#3 - The way people RP is different to prior versions. You now have different threads for different locations. Do you think this will help people RP better?
[Sorastrife] - We believe that the different threads and sections for different locations will help with organisation, so people will be able to easily tell where people are, and what they were doing, thus making it less of a chose to RP.
#4 - That sounds like a good idea. How successful do you think the Quota for how many characters per hidden village is?
[Sorastrife] - It's been very successful as it keeps people from only joining one village, and nowe we have an even balance among villages.
#5 - Why is Kirigakura not available as a hidden village?
[X.Seff.X] - Because it is Shinomori's (Another GM) village and he's not here. Also, because it was the least used village in previous incarnations, and closing it off allows people to get into what are seemingly the most popular villages.
#6 - You've introduced the Mission Boards for all of the available villages. How are missions decided upon?
[X.Seff.X] - GMs make missions using their initiatives. We've laid down a general set of guidelines for making missions i.e "You must bust into Akatsuki's hideout and kill them" is not a valid mission.
Sounds great. As a GM myself, I'll agree with what they've been saying. It's gone through many changes and it really does look like it's picking up the pieces left behind from the first run. Interested? Why not check out the Naruto RP (http://forums.bleachportal.net/forumdisplay.php?f=289) for yourself, or feel free to PM the GMs (Sorastrife, X.Seff.X, Miyata and Mirage).

THE ANIMU UNDERGROUND
January 2008
Review by Tofu
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=13238&dateline=1198725082 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=13238)
We all watch anime here in Club Bleach, I mean, it’s logical. Why go to an anime based forum without watching it? We all know the biggest titles like, "When They Cry - Higurashi", "Fullmetal Alchemist", "Death Note", "Code Geass" and so on, but there are some animes that many of us haven’t even seen, nevertheless even heard of. These rare animes may be hidden gems, or overall just piles of useless stuffs, but it is now my obligation to show you these unknown animes, and raise awareness of what is good or bad in the anime business that nobody is aware of.
This month, I’ll take a look into a film that is wildy available to anyone and everyone, the legendary space opera epic, "Space Battleship Yamato: The Movie!"
SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO: THE MOVIE
Toshio Masuda
Office Academy
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z111/cbnl_gallery/A338-11.jpg
(Alternative retelling of the Star Blazers: Quest for Iscander series)
Review summary: A movie based on an engrossing space opera epic, boasting realistic and likeable characters, a stunning story, and a distinct art style. It also boasts its age in its art color, animation and music. Despite some flaws (mostly due to bad critics per say), this film still holds the glory and triumph of the original anime and holds just as much entertainment value as well. :D
Plot Summary: In the distant future, towards the very end of the 22nd century, humankind is on the verge of extinction. Constant bombardment of radioactive asteroids has rendered the planet's atmosphere uninhabitable by the planet Gamilon during a seemingly endless war between their inhabitants and it has cost the humans their very planet. However, hope is not lost. When two soldiers from Earth discover an impact site from a foreign ship, they discover a message from the Queen Starsha of the planet Iscander, whom is offering salvation. If the humans can go to the planet Iscander, 148,000 light years away, she will grant them with a radiation cleaning device, which will completely cure the infected planet and bring back life to barren Earth. But they can’t do this alone. Boarding the World War II battleship, "Yamato", a group of humans take off to Iscander, but time and luck are against them, as they only have one year to get the RCD and return, or else humanity will end. And if that wasn’t enough, they have the Gamilonians in the way as well!
Comment: I’ll start off my opinion with a fact, something I hardly do for these kinds of animes: This is an old feature length film adaptation of an even older anime series, dating production back to 1975. With that out of clear, I got to say, I am a big fan of Leji Matsumoto’s works and will probably work on reviews for some of his lesser known works like Captain Herlock adaptions and so on. But for the time being, I say, it was very entertaining. Although, there were few things missing or too rushed to enjoy.
As the summary shows, this is a predecessor to some of the greatest space operas of our time, serving as the foundation for many to come such as, "Legend of Galactic Heroes", one of the most critically acclaimed space operas. It has a very interesting concept to it, starting off with a Japanese battleship and turning it into a gigantic space ship, flying across the universe to serve as humankind’s last hope for survival. This, at the time of the original series, (which most of us may know as Star Blazers) made it a well-known and well-loved series, creating a franchise of its own within only a few years. This movie is a fast-paced speed adaptation of a 24 episode series, within only 2 hours, and pulls it off well. However, it could have been worked out a lot better, since it took its sweet big time with some scenes and was practically rushed the others. The movie, in its rushing, creates some problems that may distant the original fans or may even push back new fans, such as a lack of build up to the fights on Pluto and Jupiter and Kadoi and Yuki’s relationship. The relationship between Kadoi and Yuki suddenly comes out of nowhere, making it a lot harder to piece together (even though it does take away a lot of the filler episodes of the original series). But don’t fret! The beautiful yet dark storyline, the realistic and believable characters and the deep, haunting moments of the first season remain intact, creating a memorable experience. The story itself was a huge surprise to me, due to the amount of incredible and distinct plot twists throughout the movie, especially towards the approximately time of 30 minutes, starting off skipping around some of the earlier battles with ease to a climactic final battle between Yamato and the Gamilonians, which one word can only describe: breathtaking.
Star Blazers was famous for having a fairly deep cast of otherwise battle driven characters. The captain, strong yet sickened, never-ceasing to fight for the survival of Earth. The crazed, yet graceful leader of Gamilon, Lord Dessler is going mad at the sight of Yamato and his own men, kamakazing themselves in order to win, this anime has one of the most dramatic bunch of villains and heroes of all time, with likeable and relateable characters in a world set way over our time. Just look at Kodai, whom lost his brother in a war and in his love and respect is stressing to follow in his footsteps to become a hero or to surpass him as one (you know somewhere near you a family member of friend is in a similar situation too).
Well, the artistic aspect of the film is aged rather - obviously. The artwork carries the different and unique feel of Matsumoto’s specific art style - with a sketchy, manga-like appearance for the action scenes, dark-shaded outlines and explosive detail on effects and background. Then it almost comes to the fault never seen in a Leji Matsumoto work: bad character design. Honestly, he nailed Captain Okito, Yuki, Starsha and Sarsha (beautiful character design for them, almost stunning), and Lord Dessler. Well, the rest were not to his standard of creativity (see Galaxy Express 999 to know what I mean by creativity). Most of the characters looked alike, had dull or uninteresting look and weren’t really the better of his designs (although Susumu Kodai’s design isn’t really bad, just the hair…). The mechanical design, I must say, "is extravagant", but the aging is clear when it comes to the coloring. Throughout the film, it carries out awfully desaturated coloring, which doesn’t work well in my eyes after watching vibrant or heavily shaded anime coloring for a living like, "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" and the quality of the video isn’t perfect either, adding to some of the faults.
The animation is way further aged than the art styling, which is an incredible oddity. The animation puzzles out of me, even today when watching the dvd I had hidden around and I actually thought the VHS was made the animation look so chunky, but I was wrong. At some points, the animation is at perfect cooperation with Legi’s art, which proves to be an extremely high quality effort and it even outmatches some of the anime films of the 90s (to say the least), while other scenes use the repetitive effects and constantly repeat the same clip over and over (sometimes even recycling clips from half an hour earlier in the film!). This leads to some complications, and the quality issues make it harder to grasp the unique art work fully or to ignore the antique feeling of watching it messes out the same frames over and over again.
As for the sound department, it has its share of ups and downs, just like the animation had. The music is usually very well orchestrated, and the songs feel powerful, memorable, and nostalgic - cheering along to the mid-70s theme, “Uchuu Senkan Yamato.” Then, you remember something else from the anime of the past… the sound effects. Awful, blobbish and noisy, the sound effects from the 70s are here as well, which isn’t that good for the mood setting, but the sound effects aren’t the only things that kill the mood. I have got to blame whoever the sound editor is for placing the wrong songs at the wrong time in some of the more dramatic scenes, or for cutting the music off too suddenly. This unappealing aspect takes away some of the more memorable moments of an otherwise beautiful retelling of a deep series. As for the Japanese voices (since my DVD only had the subs), were excellent and fit their role perfectly, which takes some focus away from the music.

"I will subject you to, my retribution!"
It’s New Year and this is the time to restart your life, do something new and exciting! So I present you with an anime, that you should really start watching!
Le Chevalier D’eon is a 24 episode series that was originally a fantasy novel written by Tow Ubukata. It is set in 18th century France, the same time as the revolution. King Louis XV reigns and all seems well. That is until a body comes floating down the river Seine in a coffin. The coffin has the word "Psalms" written on it. Inside is the dead body of Lia de Beaumont.
Enter the hero! D’eon de Beaumont is a young knight who works for the secret police. He had been working on a case where several young women were turning up dead and now his sister had become a victim! What’s worse, his sister's soul is now inside of him! This sets him off on a wild adventure to find the truth of why his sister can’t find eternal rest.
His journey is filled with weird and dangerous obstacles, and with an evil religious force working against him; it’s up to his friends Robin, Durand and Teillagory to help him win.
As the series goes along, the plot thickens as new elements are added. Plot twists that blow your brains out and brilliant fight scenes become the all the norm! The introduction of Maximillien Robespierre and the "Psalm of Kings" adds a new direction in this already intriguing anime.
The anime has a brilliant ending, and will leave you begging for more. I suggest this anime to anyone who likes: History, horror, fantasy and mystery!

5 Things To Look For In 2008
Also known as 5-TTLFI-08
by Scorch777
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=32980&dateline=1193822461 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=32980)
Ah yes, we've gone through facing deadly crowds for Christmas shopping, opening our presents and using mistletoe to get a smooch out of someone (or was that just me?) and so now we all face the upcoming year of 2008.
So what is there to come in 2008?
What exactly is going to happen in 2008 that will rock out socks?
Well, unfortunately we don't know for sure but we can list 5 things that are going to change and alter our lives a tiny bit more, well hopefully.
And without further ado, lets start with the 5-TTLFI-08!
International Year of the Potato!
That's right kiddies! The UN has called 2008 the year that we take notice of our slightly deformed friends and enjoy the potato.
The 2008 Summer Olympics!
Another four years has passed and we face another Olympic Games. The internationally famous games will contest hundreds of nations to win the honour of being the country to collect the most medals in total.
Presidential Election for the US!
Although many of us aren't exactly American, or even close to the country we still should note that the United States of America plays a huge part in the global community, and so does the person that gets elected to 'rule' the nation.
The Finish of Scrubs
Despite the fact that the extremely popular TV series was to end this year, the Writers Guild Strikes caused production to stop and the final season on hiatus until further notice. This makes the finish of the series most likely next year or never.
Look out! Burj Dubai!
The United Arab Emirates has recently been using its own resources to give us humans, a better look out and by 2008 it'll be finished! The skyscraper known as the Burj Dubai will be completed in late 2008, and possibly named the tallest man-made structure in the world, overtaking the very tall Taipei 101 in Taiwan. The Burj Dubai will stand at 585.7 meters tall.
Although they may not be the first-pick of things to look forward to in 2008, these are something to keep your eye on (especially the International Year of the Potato).
And with that, we finish the list of 5 things to look for in 2008,
The International Year of the Potato.

My Take on the Sterroids Issue in Sports
Article by //KirA.~
http://forums.bleachportal.net/image.php?u=31083&dateline=1198838004 (http://forums.bleachportal.net/member.php?u=31083)
Steroids and other performance enhancing drugs are dangerous.
Legalizing steroids for athletes will only encourage the athletic youth to take these drugs. Therefore, steroids should not be legal for any sport. It will throw away the true competitiveness of sports and it will ruin the meaning of sports and its sportsmanship. Athletes are role models to teen athletes all over the world.
They will be influenced by their role models. That is why there should not be any legalized steroids for any athletes of any sports.
Most professional athletes are role models to teen athletes all around the world. They are seen on television everyday. Professional athletes are setting a bad example for these teens if they took steroids. Legalizing steroids will only make matters worse. Their favorite professional athlete may have to take steroids due to the new level of competition caused by steroids use. This will make the teen athletes to have the mindset to think it is okay to take performance enhancing drugs and steroids because their role models are doing it.
It is already bad enough that there are some teen athletes who are taking steroids at the high school level and even in the middle school level. If steroids were to be legalized to professional athletes, and these athletes take advantage of them, then they will gain a competitive edge over those professional athletes who are not taking legalized steroids. It is unfair to these athletes who are not cheating. They could be competing against an athlete who is doping and not even know it.
Because many professional athletes make a huge amount of money, they will do anything to stay at the top of their game. Even if it means risking their image that many teens are used to see. If caught using illegal steroids, they will lose their eligibility to play in their sports. It will have an asterisk put beside any accomplishment they had. Therefore questioning if their numbers are legit or not.
In professional baseball, the steroids issue is very serious. The rules that restrict steroids and performance enhancing drugs are very strict. Major League Baseball worries about the image that their athletes are presenting to the teens that follows baseball. It will raise the percentage of high school teens that uses steroids. Surveys suggest that 2.5% of high school teens in the United States have taken illegal steroids. With the danger that comes with steroids. Raising that percentage increases the chance of teens abusing steroids.
Major side effects of steroids, taken from Steroid.COM (http://www.steroid.com/side.php)
Gynocomastia (Development of breast tissue in males)
The development of gynecomastia or feminization of the breast tissue in males is possible with anabolic steroids. This is due to an excess of estrogen being present in the body, through a process known as "aromatization" whereby androgens like testosterone are converted to estrogen. This excess estrogen then finds its way to the receptors in breast tissue and binds to them. This results in the possibility of female-like breast tissue, which must sometimes be removed by surgery. Most athletes experience itchiness of the nipples, followed by pain. Since this develops over several days, usually, the athlete usually has more than enough time to discontinue the use of the compounds he´s taking, or to attempt to counteract the breast tissue development while remaining on the cycle. The two most common ways this is achieved by steroid users is either to use an anti-estrogen like Nolvadex or Arimidex in their cycle or to take Letrozole (*a very strong Aromatase Inhibitor and antiestrogenic compound) afterwards, to destroy the tissue that has developed.
Male breast development occurs in basically the same way as female breast development, and the use of anabolic steroids can result in this happening at a later stage in life for males. At puberty a surplus of hormones all combine to stimulate the growth and development of breast tissue.
The initiation and progression of breast development involves a variety of pituitary (and ovarian, in women) hormones, as well as various local mediators. As you can see from the following chart, testosterone has the ability to aromatize (convert to estrogen), and eventually become part of the cascade of hormones that eventually contribute to the development of breast tissue.
Acne
Anabolic steroids can cause the Development of acne and the extent to which it is experienced can be due to a number of varying factors, with the particular steroids and exact dosages used being the two primary factors. The skin´s sebaceous glands have a particularly high affinity to Dihydrotestosterone, which is an androgen the body naturally produces from testosterone via the enzyme 5-alpha Reductase. Increased sebaceous gland activity can oily skin which can combine with bacteria and dead skin caused by normal wear and tear, eventually causing pores to become clogged more quickly than the body can remove them. This of course, is preventable by using only particular steroids, cleansing the skin regularly, and perhaps using a topical anti-androgen.
Roid Rage
Increased aggressiveness is often claimed to occur with anabolic steroid use. Although it´s highly rare (less than 5%), significant psychiatric symptoms have been found in some steroid users, including aggression and increased violence, mania, and even psychosis. However, it must be noted that in the studies done without a control group, it can safely be assumed that naturally aggressive people simply just be more inclined to use steroids (type-A personalities, if you will). This would probably have an effect on possibly skewing the results. Certainly, if someone takes the risk to use steroids to improve their performance in a sport or their physique, they have certain aggressive traits. Can steroids enhance them? Possibly. Can steroids be to blame for anti-social, psychotic, "roid-rage" type behavior? Probably not. The evidence just isn´t there to support that.
Stunted Growth (height)
The use of some steroids can possibly stunt the growth potential of people who have not finished growing. This is only possible with certain steroids, and not with others. In fact, certain steroids have been used in clinical settings to improve growth rates in children. It is probable that the premature closure of the epiphysial cartilage, which is most likely caused by aromatizable steroids, will lead to a possible growth inhibiting effect, and could ultimately result in a shorter adult height. This most likely an irreversible side effect, as the growth plates would have sealed and can not "re-open".

Innocence Dies
by Toasty
Whispers of forgotten dreams
Death brings visions of silver gleams
A past of painful memories
A future unsure -- a destiny
Faces, voices, flashes of remembrance
Time goes on in its intricate dance
No one controls the sands of time
No one knows what we might leave behind
And in the end, innocence betrayed
Destiny forgotten, a decision made

Distance
by Mirage
Startling emotions laced
With simple pain
Sweetness that remains
Strongly, against hurt
Distance does make you wonder
If bonds do not break
Such small enquiries sever
the fine lines of trust?
I do not know
For it seems only glimmers
of hope radiate with the night
Disappearing as dawn breaks..
Hide behind a mask?
Oh no, I tell no lies
I keep the little questions
My worries will surely pass
Distance..
Perhaps it is the difference in time
That makes one forget
Or simply the charm of foreign places..
Have fun, run free
Don't let the tides of youth escape you
Just one day, maybe now, remember
It is I who awaits the call
Have you forgotten?

Wash me clean,
From the sorrows I bring,
From the blood I cause
From the tears I summon
Let me be…
So I live forever more
Wipe me from your mind,
So that I can haunt your soul;
Yet live to tell the tale
Of a hundred deaths
So let me be…
Then I can live forever more
When the rain comes down,
Let me drench it its purity
When I’m really dying;
I am the angel that is becoming clean
So in the end, I can be let alone
So that I can live forever more
And yet,
Never more.

Yo, yo, yo peeps (or should i say ho, ho, ho?), welcome again to the Great Divide, the place where I can get to ask you on your thoughts on different questions each issue. So it's December, with all the holidays and all, so hope y'all had a fun and Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you may celebrate. :)
Speaking of fun, the holiday season should have tons of fun stuff happening whether it be with friends or family, super awesome gifts or just fun things you do. But what's more fun, than taking things TO THE EXTREME!? Without further ado, the question is-
""Which is better? Skydiving or Bungee jumping?"
=====================
Tyekanik-
Skydiving. Reason: Not everyone likes being strung upside down. Some like leaping out of planes.
=====================
Giallorossi01-
Sky diving all the way. Bungee jumping can be cool, if you like breaking ur ankles and then snapping back up and crashing into the bottom of a bridge. Sky diving is so much cooler because not only does it last longer, you also go faster. You can anything you want while you skydive; theres been people who sit on couches and watch tv, people have gotten married, people have been in cars, but when you bungee jump you just kinda fall, snap back up and the fall. BOOOOORRRRRRIIIINNGGGGG.
Sky diving is sooooooo much better in every way :headbang .
=====================
Tobi-
Sky diving, because I could land on people and kill them =O!
=====================
Reco-
Skydiving is better then Bungee jumping. With Skydiving, you have to get into a plane to get the correct amount of height while with Bungee jumping you just have to walk up a ladder. So the distance is much greater in Skydiving. Then the view is better the higher you go, so Skydiving wins there as well. Skydiving is also more free flowing then being bounced around on a Bungee cord. You can also Skydive with groups of people, but in Bungee jumping it should only be done one at a time. So therefore Skydiving is better then Bungee jumping.
=====================
Elocin-
Can I choose neither? I'm scared of heights :p
Um. Skydiving. Looks more safe and fun. >_>
=====================
Dęva-
skydiving, ropes are for pussies.
=====================
.pt//shin~-
Bungekjumping. Give you all the adrenaline you need. Also, it's twice as exciting. :Domo
=====================
motoki-
I like Skydiving better because you fall from a higher location and you aren't restricted by the cord. Also if you have that special skydiving flying suit, you can glide across like a penguin in the sky which i think would be really cool.
=====================
cherlye <3-
I don't know, I haven't done either before. I want to go Bungee jumping though! Even though I have this massive fear of heights. Really really massive. I'd die if I was ever high above ground with no footing whatsoever.
Wait, I don't think I want to do either now. Me being deathly afraid and all.
Oops, went off-topic.
Yar, um, bungee-jumping ftw. =D
=====================
Kay™-
both of them is cool but there a major draw back for each of them for the cost of the fun :shithappe
sky diving is extremely dangerous,if the equipment screw up you are good as dead :shithappe
while bungee jump is dangerous but still you might survive if you fall...maybe...well better chance than skydiving >_>
i choose...uhmm...cant choose actually,i like both of them(it make my heart beat go rly fast, what else can be this entertaining? :D) beside it show how manly you are~ :kamina:
well i go for skydiving despite how dangerous it is...coz i wanna try it out(never did that b4 :() and touch the sky~ this remind me of kanye west song, touch the sky lulz:musak:
======================
So what's the more EXTREME way to have fun?
Hold on to you parachutes, it's Skydiving!!

well I must say that was very interesting as my first newsletter, I think I'm a bit late reading it as its prior to the new year but still full of tasty titbits of info and some awfully random lama comments. Still I like the style and presentation and will await the next newsletter and read it in a more timely fasion.
Are you looking for editors or additional sections? just wondering if there is a way to contrbute to the work?

If you want to apply for a staff position, visit Usergroups (http://forums.bleachportal.net/profile.php?do=editusergroups).
Once there, look for "Club Bleach Newsletter" and put in a request to join, with a short reason.
An editor will read your request, and he or she will Private Message you and ask you a series of questions regarding to your interests, specialty, etc.

great issue, doing a good job :D
Thanks for your comments people the next issue might be a bit delayed due to the fact that we have had holidays and we're taking the time during these holidays to re organise the internal staffing and policy's of the newsletter as we speak.
Also if you have a wish to join the newsletter staff which we fully encourage the normal members of the forum to do simply apply in the Usergroups application section in your Usercp as well as PM'ing all the editors of the newsletter as shown in our editorial at the end of each newsletter.
